Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • Really great characterful apartment in a marvelous location. The only drawback (and reason why this does not get 5 stars) is that there is no TV (hurray), or radio but the internet connection is patchy. This makes it difficult to use outside of the kitchen area. However, this is a minor reservation. Previously we have stayed in Manhatten and Williamsburg is more convenient for getting around than many of the places we have stayed. Try it.

  • Cool place close to the Williamsburg party/eating/shopping area. 10min walking to the L-Line to Manhatten. Clean, good bed, we'd definitely stay there again!

  • Fabulous place! Maria was a terrific host and very attentive. There is an excellent restaurant and bar right next door and some great music venues, bars and cafés very near. Car service to anywhere is insanely fast. We had some friends visit from Manhattan on a snowy night, we had wine by the fire then headed downstairs for some of the best oysters we've ever had. Our friends from Manhattan said they will probably "staycation" here.

    Stephen2014-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Maria and Greg's place is fantastic. Just as advertised. Great location and lovely homely feel. Greg, I may take you up on that offer of visiting Costa Rica one day!

    Ross2014-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • I did not meet Maria but her partner was a great host and had the place looking spotless for our arrival! They were very communicative and overall a really great experience in NY. Super cool apartment and great location!

  • Maria's place was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Tina2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin in the Sky fulfills my most important reason for using AirBnB--much more than "cheap housing," I'm looking for the experience of actually being a part of a community at the ground level, getting to know its ins and outs, and wondering, "could I live here?" This is definitely what Maria's place offers. We were in Williamsburg for a couple of concerts, and over four days we really got to know the neighborhood. You really couldn't ask for a better location: in addition to being close to tons of great eating/drinking establishments, you're a thirty-minute walk across the bridge into Manhattan. As for the "cabin" itself, it's full of charm and character. The living area and fireplace are super cozy and just the thing after a long day of tramping around the City. The bed was exceptional; I slept better in it than I had in months. The bathroom is a little rough around the edges, maybe too much for some. We had an issue with hot water our second day which resolved itself, and the Internet is spotty at best--we ended up using the hotspot on our cell phone. Overall, a solid AirBnb stay. I would probably stay here again and recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic Williamsburg experience.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 400+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Carol and Marc were wonderful hosts and made me feel right at home. They were also very helpful with advice to get around the city. As i was travelling alone it was great to sit down with them in the evening and chat over a glass of wine.

    Jo2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say here that hasn't already been said many times before. From the moment we made the booking Carol (& Marc) were brilliant, great communication and fabulous advice for both local and NYC wide places to eat & see. Great information on arriving from JFK, made our journey very easy. When we arrived at the apartment, it is everything you expect from the photos shown on AirBnB, very clean, tidy, well presented, details as described (own bathroom, bedroom & pretty much your own lounge). The location couldn't have been better 2 minute walk to the F line and easy access to NYC. Both Marc & Carol welcomed us into their home and were chatty, friendly and helpful, more than we could have wished for. Great advice for local places to eat and enjoy the atmosphere rather than going to the "chain" type cafes & restaurants. I will have no hesitation in booking again with Carol & Marc when returning to NYC - just wish they could have made the city a little warmer for our stay!!!

  • We had a wonderful time staying in the apartment! This was our first experience with Airbnb and it couldn´t have been better. Carol and Marc are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Their loft is really awesome, clean and it felt like home during our stay. We really loved our time there and we want to say thank you again :) For sure we recommend it to anyone!

  • Had an amazing time here with Carol and Marc. They were both incredibly welcoming and generous with advice. Very friendly and courteous and I always felt at ease. The apartment is amazing and spacious and in the perfect location to get to all of NYC. Everything is within walking distance and very safe. My only regret is not having as much time to get to know Carol and Marc and be in the apartment as I would have liked. Highly recommended. The apartment is bigger and better than the pictures show. Next time in NYC and would certainly stay here again. p.s. the bathroom is awesome.

    Chris2013-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. It is close to many great restaurants, the subway, and the bus stop. It was very convenient. We felt welcomed and moment we met the hosts until the moment we left NYC (even after our check out). They were even welcoming to our little souvenir (a puppy) the few hours we had her before we had to leave. We will definitely give them a call next time we are going back to NYC!

    Christine2015-01-26T00:00:00Z

    Nicole2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Marc were some of the best hosts I have had with Airbnb. Very thoughtful, considerate, and flexible! We arrived early and were able to drop off our bags. They also let us leave our bags later on checkout day as we continued to explore the city. The apartment is great. We didn't spend much time at the apartment other than sleeping, but it was very clean and a lot bigger than most other spaces in the city. One of my concerns before the stay was the street noise at night. This wasn't an issue at all. It was very quiet at night and we slept well. Bed is comfortable too :-). Great location as well. Out of the hustle and bustle of times square, but really easy to get there if desired. Subway stop is only a couple blocks away. Overall a great place to stay with even better hosts. Really a great deal for NYC. Thanks Carol and Marc!

Cozy, warm atmosphere, perfect for the traveler looking for a real NY experience. This reservation is for one person. If you want to book for 2 guests it is an extra $100 per night. Best neighborhood in midtown Manhattan for the best price. In the hub of Hell's Kitchen nightlife, restaurants, theaters, museums.
Bedroom is small, but very comforting. Kitchen is HUGE with tons of sunlight and every spice you can imagine for all you chefs. Very easy going apartment- smoking is perfectly fine. Part of the apartment is an art workshop. Bathroom is large with skylight. Apartment is in back of the building, so the apartment is very quiet. An oasis in midtown. This reservation is for one guest.
Hell's kitchen is THE center of the entire city. Some of the best and affordable restaurants in the city, with any type of cuisine you could want. The apartment is walk able to virtually any subway line in the city. The neighborhood is in the center of the arts, with Times Square, Broadway theaters, and Central Park a stone's throw away. A vibrant nightlife and artist community with a neighborhood feel. Anything you're looking for is here!

    Pablo2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was a great host to me - helped me with my luggage up the stairs on arrival and departure, and he is very accommodating - happy to be as involved or not as you wish in giving you a lovely stay in New York. He is a true native New Yorker and very knowledgable. He talked me through all the different neighbourhoods, and he even very kindly walked round the east village with me to show me all the boutique vintage stores :) He also makes a mean breakfast, and had iced coffee and iced tea to hand at all times when I'd come in looking for some solace from the humidity! Great host, great location and I had a fab stay - thank you Jeffrey!

    Kate2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is wow. I had the nicest, comfortable stay here. Jeffrey was a wonderful host and made me feel at home instantly. He was interesting, funny and a cool down to Earth guy. He was very hospitable and greeted me outside on a cold rainy day, then made tea when I arrived. He made breakfasts and would sit and chat with me and also helped with navigating the city. It's close to everything. Central Park and Times Square are just a short walk. If you want to go to New York City, you should stay here. Jeffrey is the man. He is too awesome for words. You will love staying here.

    Elizabeth2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was an excellent host for my short stay in his apartment. On arrival, he greeted me and made chicken soup - which was much appreciated following a substantial journey from London. Jeffrey was a friendly, helpful and interesting host and was able to provide an insight into New York life and history that would be unattainable from a hotel stay. The location of the apartment is also great - walking distance to Central Park, Midtown and the High Line. I would definitely recommend Jeffrey's place for those looking for a personal and well located stay in NYC.

  • Jeffrey is lovely and amazing! Hilarious, gracious, available, open, honest...I could go on and on. The location couldn't be better and then you top it off with a host like Jeffrey, you'd be crazy NOT to stay here. I plan to return!

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood. !
This historic section of Brooklyn is home to some of the most magnificent brownstones streets in the world, with charming architectural landmarks. There so many new restaurants and bars popping up in the area such as Peaches,Hot house,Royals, Saraghina, and Gallery.

  • Very well coming and confortable place, the location is good: from Brooklyn you can easly reach Manhattan.

    Nicola2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a great host who is very easy to communicate with! The apartment is located just a short walk away from the A train which made it very convenient to get into and out of manhattan

    Eric2017-09-04T00:00:00Z

    Françoise2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The studio apartment was spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped. The apartment is at the rear of the house so there is no street noise. Michelle was very helpful in addressing any concerns or questions we had. There are some nice organic delis nearby. A comfortable walk to the Metro line which takes you straight to Penn Station.

    Mrina2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The host was excellent and helped us with all that was needed. Although she had family health issues, she still made time for us. Trains and buses just minutes away. Just make sure to prepare yourselves for the very cold outdoors. Wear the right clothings as it could get very nasty. One word of advise. Avoid small grocers such as the one in the coner just seconds away from the apartment as they will rob you alive. They do not give you an itemized bill. They just give you a random price to pay as they will know you are foreign. You buy a few things today and they charge you one price. You buy the very same things the next day, and they will charge you differently. When you ask for the itemised bill, they start talking to each other with their own language. Insulting me for all I know. Other then that, I recommend the apartment and the host.

  • Great apartment in a great area of NYC. We were visiting for a week with our 3 kids and grandparents too - they all loved the apartment which is incredibly convenient for travelling around NYC. The space is modern, bright and clean and the kitchen in particular was very well kitted out - all mod cons including an integrated fresh coffee machine. Jon & Chester are excellent hosts and communications both before and during our stay were very easy and nothing was any trouble - Jon helped organised our travel back to the airport and I would also recommend their guidebook which has lots of great suggestions for places to eat, drink and visit. We won't hesitate to stay with Jon and Chester again when visiting NY.

    Stuart2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Chester and Jon's loft in NYC is absolutely stunning. Very spacious, well-located and incredibly comfortable. Check-in was very easy and Jon was a very helpful and hospitable host. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone do the same!

  • It was an absolute pleasure to stay at C & J's apartment. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a genuine care and interest in our stay. (Not to mention the apartment was INCREDIBLE! Modern / spacious / brilliant location!) We arrived at 2am and felt awful keeping our hosts up but they were honestly happy to help and even called around to a few places to see what was open for us. Amazing service. Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege to stay here, we can not wait to come back to visit! The grapefruit beer was a treat!

  • Communicating with Jon was a breeze: he always responded quickly & in kind. My friends & I all remarked how warmly we were greeted by Jon. The apartment is spacious and well-designed. The beds were extremely comfortable. It is clean & elegant living quarters. We even enjoyed the cast-iron fire escape on a balmy November night. Thanks, Jon, for sharing your lovely space with us!

  • The loft is spacious, beautifully appointed and located in a great part of NYC. An ideal base for exploring the City, dining and nightlife or simply relaxing in comfortable surroundings. Best of all, Chaester and Jon were the ideal hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Highly recommended.

    Krystal2014-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • this apartment was an absolute oasis of calm and joy to come to after weathering a crazy snow-related travel nightmare. Craig was incredibly efficient and understanding, staying in touch constantly and adjusting his plans as I battled my way valiantly through the travel chaos, & I can't tell you how wonderful it was to be met by such a lovely friendly host after all the travel hell. and the apartment itself was a total dream - warm yellows, ivory and teak hues, with everything laid out exactly as I needed - warm bedding, candlelight, cupboard space, fresh fruit, clean bathroom w/ all amenities. I fell in love with the beautiful greenhouse terrace, which makes you feel like you've stepped into another world altogether. all this place needs is a meditation soundtrack. it was incredibly hard to leave. I am so tempted to write a terrible review of this place so that no one will come here and I can have it ALL TO MYSELF whenever I visit New York. but Craig and Apartment 6 are much too lovely to hoard in good conscience & so I grudgingly suggest that you will regret it if you come to NYC and don't try to stay in this apartment at least once in your life Craig家真的是紐約的一個隱藏的寶石 讓我過了非常舒服的幾天 他家有特別艺术和独特的環境與氛围 周邊也非常方便 距離雙連捷運站約步行2-3分鐘 也有多樣化美食選擇 下次到紐約 這個房子一定是我近期的最佳選擇!

    Rachel2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • great, stylish place with a terrace from which you can overlook Central park and parts of the skyline of Manhatten. Very tidy apartment with tasteful furniture, pictures and decoration. One thing though, apartment 6 is perfect, if you are looking for private sphere and a place to crash after an exhausting day in the city - if you want to socialize and have a bunch of people around you, there may be more suitable places.

    Roland2014-07-14T00:00:00Z

    Vivian2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely space, beautifully decorated and drenched in light. Craig was a perfect host, and saw that I had everything I needed for my stay. The area is great, easily accessible, steps from Central Park, the subway (A and C), and conveniences (food and drugstore).

    Anne2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Craig and Michael were nothing but great!! This was my first ever airbnb experience and it was a very enjoyable one. Both Craig and Michael were more than happy to answer any of our questions and suggest some beautiful spots to go During our visit. Michael's house was lovey and perfectly decorated. I would love to come back and stay at apartment 6 another time in the future!

    Kristina2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • 房子和描述的很一致,特别喜欢种满了植物的院子。另外交通也十分便利,周围吃的玩的地方也很多。房东本人很nice,给予了很多有用的帮助,总体来说性价比很高!

Art school Pratt is cross the street, make this neighborhood safe and convenient. At the top(6th) floor, you could see the most beautiful manhattan skyline from our private balcony. Restaurants, bars, supermarket downstairs. Bus stop at my main entrance. Near manhattan bridge, very close to downtown manhattan!
Note: this is a living room space with room divider- curtains. A 1300 sq feet 2 bdr 2 bathrooms apt.

  • Thanks to Tracy, I have a nice stay here. It’s a convenient place to live for your NYC trips.

    Eric2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little apartment in Brooklyn which offers a fantastic view of Manhattan and Queens from the private balcony. Tracy was a brilliant host and it was a great pleasure to stay there. This place is great for solo travellers looking for somewhere to crash after a long day in New York. It’s not a private room so if privacy is key this may not be for you, but if you need a quiet place to stay with unique views of Manhattan then I highly recommend staying here.

    Jimmy2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Tracy's place! It's so clean and beautifully designed. Her balcony has a perfect view of the Manhattan skyline. "Wow!" NYC Floor-through apartment in 1910 brownstone, luxe, updated, original charm, and architectural bones, extraordinary Manhattan location. 98% five star reviews. Walk score: 100. Strict compliance with NYC short-term rental rules! 31 day min rental. Our friends, of course, can stay for shorter stays, as our guests! You may not instant book this apartment. Our offer to rent in nyc, is only for those who we know or will be delighted to know via polite communication. Paddington
This is a large one bedroom apartment 700 ft.² plus, (or 66+ sq. meters,) with separate attached maid's quarters, (square footage not included,) custom finished with marble, granite, designer lighting, a built in office nook, new or newer appliances-built in modern shelving to store your clothes, all manners of built-in usable space. The updated granite bath has a rainfall shower, with marble finishes and spa products. Ample closet space provided: The bedroom has a closet, an armoire and a basket system for your belongings. They are all left empty for you, hotel-style. It comfortably sleeps two. There is a European washer/dryer in the unit. it takes seven hours to wash to a towel. Please don't use it, it's trouble. Rather, if you come for longer stays, we will give you a credit to use the fluff and fold directly around the corner from the flat. Same or next day service, washed, fluffed and folded. They pick up and deliver. Location, location, location. It is in the middle of the nicest blocks of Chelsea, which buffers you from NYC noise, and the back bedroom has a view of green space, and, at night a subtle glimmer of city lights. There are custom plantation shutter window treatments, which can be closed to serve as blackout screens. The bedroom is particularly quiet. The second floor living room is high enough off the street for privacy, but affords a nice view or people watching, if you're so inclined. The apartment building is a highly sought after, turn-of-the-century brownstones, which requires an easy walk up one flight of stairs. The layout of the apartment is "railway "style, which means there is a sofa in the front of the apartment, separated by a long galley kitchen and bathroom, separated by a bedroom which closes with the door, a queen bed with memory foam mattress, ample new towels and linens. the apartment could comfortably accommodate two people who do not sleep together, at either ends of the apartment. Both rooms have flat screen TV and cable boxes. We are both art collectors, and the place will likely have a rotating art collection. There will always be interesting art. This is a rare find: a floor-through apartment in a brownstone. It has been updated, and continues to be improved, no expenses spared. There will be ample linens, fluffy towels, pillows. We donate used products to charity, update amenities constantly. The apartment has old world charm, architectural detail windows, an exposed brick wall runs throughout the apartment, and there is a built-in working fireplace. Full sized refrigerator stocked with complimentary, locally-sourced beverages and snacks. The bedroom contains an alcove nook for reading or relaxing, which overlooks green space. The building has eight units and is private, as are the residents. No one will likely notice you or talk to you. We are meticulous in holding ourselves to the highest standard possible for both hospitality and the quality of your accommodations. We prefer to host one person, or a couple. If you are a couple traveling with a friend, we are open to that possibility. A THIRD GUEST REQUIRES OWNER’S PRIOR PERMISSION, WHICH IS RARELY GRANTED. We are a quiet building and do not host “groups” in this one bedroom apartment. When I am in town, I sleep on the sofa in the front room. It is incredibly comfortable 7 feet long, soft Italian leather and more comfortable than any sofa steeper. To be clear, this is a long, lush sofa which comfortably sleeps one person, it is not a (typically less comfortable) pull out bed. I mention this in the event of two guests, who wish to sleep in separate quarters, including couples! The front door to the building, is a single key that cannot be duplicated, please don't lose it. If there are two if you, you will each have a key. This is not a hotel, it is a personalized experience to suit the needs of are guest-you! This is a great neighborhood. It is surrounded by hundreds of restaurants within walking distance of the meatpacking district, the Highline park, the Chelsea market, Eataly and Greenwich Village. It is in the midst of the art gallery scene in West Chelsea. The flatiron district and the East Village are both walkable, as are Madison Square Park, Union Square and the Empire State Building. It is also walking distance, or a very quick subway ride to the theater district. Or downtown. Fifth Avenue shopping is a stroll away. This is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city, both because it's easy proximity to everything, and it's aesthetic appeal. While this is a bustling neighborhood, 24/7, it isi a very quiet building. If you are here on business, it is the perfect place to stay. Much more comfortable than a hotel, no racket in the hallway or in the lobby. Better amenities, with three or four times the space. And a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, in the event you wish to stay in and cook or stock up on local eats and beverages from your immediate area. If you have any special requests for particular foods or beverages upon your arrival, you need only ask. Your two blocks in either direction from all major subway lines. Additionally, there is a crosstown bus on 23rd St, which will take you to the art galleries and the Highline at Tenth Ave (2 blocks!) going West. Going east, you will pass Fifth Ave (the Flatiron building) Madison Ave, (shopping, Gramercy Park) Third Through first Avenues, the Avenue A, B, C, and D (the East village, Alphabet City). You can walk to Times Square, or take the subway from 23rd street, two blocks from where you live, and two stations heading uptown. There are subways on 23rd at 7th and 8th avenues, going uptown, downtown, out of town, anywhere you want to go. If you are arriving by train or wish to take a side trip to, say, Boston, Penn Staion is 13 blocks away. at 34th. (Btw 7th and 8th.) From there, you can go most anywhere. We have had this place for over ten years. Lived here full time at first, two of us, then visited with diminishing frequency, for eight years. Our friends love it, someone always wanted to stay here-and often did. We have others places for friends to visit. We love hosting. We are constantly making improvements and upgrades to the place, to maximize our guests' experience. We are good neighbors and we host even better guests. We have been delighted and privileged to meet great people, and sometimes, new friends, randomly, through hosting. Noise note: please avoid talking in the hallways-that is the only place where neighbors can hear you. The entire apartment, wi-fi, landline, all food and beverages in the house-likely left specifically for you, a variety of coffee, teas, breakfast foods, occasional surprise treats, luxuries linens, towels, comforters..and a large array of them. We can likely store your luggage if you are arriving prior to check-in or leaving after checkout. Please organize this with someone on the real estate team. The apartment is on one of the two physically beautiful blocks in Chelsea: 21st and 22nd, west of Seventh Avenue. This has become one of the trendiest and toniest parts of town. It's still maintains its neighborhood feel, it is not overwhelmingly crowded like Soho or Time Square, any place in the theater district. There are dozens and dozens, within blocks, of dining options. There is a nearby whole foods an even closest supermarket, and several boutique emporium take out preprepared food, suitable for vegans for you lactose intolerant every healthy food imaginable. You were walking distance from so many fantastic tourist attractions, not all touristy, that you could easily remain in the neighborhood, or never take public transportation, and be entertained for a month. You will be blocks from The Highline Park, which is a huge, must-see public space built on top of elevated railway tracks, long in disuse. You are bordered by the West Village, Gramacy Sq., Park, the Flatiron building, the Empire State building, The original shake shack in Madison Sq., Park, Chelsea market, which is a must see, the meatpacking district, too many fine dining establishment to name, as well as local bodegas that have been there for decades. We have our favorite restaurants, a French bistro, Fine dining (the red cat!) a Sicilian bar and eatery (Eolo bar and restaurant) check you later sushi, which is kind of a scene at Momoya, a block form your place. All exceptional. If you walk east to Fifth Avenue, you'll be at the flat iron building, there was also a huge Italian market, that is not well known, like Chelsea market. In that neighborhood, 26th and Broadway, there are several live music venues and there'll come a day venues on 23rd St. everything is footsteps away, literally. Art lovers: Walk directly west of your apartment to block the 10th Ave. and you will be smack in the heart of West Chelsea, the art gallery district. We have prepared a manual that has recommendations for places to see both outside and inside the neighborhood. There are several 24/7 eateries in the neighborhood. This is an exclusive, meaning sought after, location. Some hotels, near Penn station, crow about that location. That would be the opposite of an awesome location. (One of us grew up across the street from Penn Station.) It's Industrial and grim, lots of fast food eateries, constant transients, and business foot traffic. If you're going to the theater from Chelsea, the subway will to get you there in two stops and 10 minutes, probably faster than a taxi. There are subway stations located at 23rd and seventh and 23rd and eighth. Between those two of those options, the subway will take your most everywhere. If the weather permits, and it's of interest, take one of those double-decker guided tour bus tours. They're really fun. There is also a bus that runs both east and west on 23rd St., stops at every block. Or, in warmer weather, a Citcle Line tour by boat on the Hudson. If you're driving, parking is difficult on the street. There are several for pay places to park nearby. They are not cheap. If you are arriving from LaGuardia Airport, take a taxi. Don't torture yourself. There is public transportation, the MTA, will literally take you come up with one subway fare to 106 street, where you can take the subway down to 23rd St. and be two blocks from the house. With luggage, its for those on a tight budget. Both JFK and Newark airports have your trains which will take it to the subway, you will have to change trains at some point, Newark is easier to get into the city, will take you to Penn station. (34th between seventh and eighth.)You can either take yet another subway, with your luggage, or a taxi 11 blocks south to your apartment. JFK has an air train, you could change either at Jamaica station and take the Long Island Railroad into the city again pen station. It is also possible to take the air train from JFK directly to the subway, which will take you to 23rd St. It is a long and arduous journey. Obviously, this is just in before overview of everything. Whatever is your interest, we're glad to do you in that direction. Assist you in anyway we can. These are specific directions designed for first time visitors, or people who are directionally challenged. It hard to get lost in this neighborhood, the blocks are consecutively numbered. The West Village aka Greenwich Village (the nicer part) is a 10 minute walk to the south. "South" means the numbers get smaller: 19, 18, 17. Then some streets have names. Ditto for Meatpacking District, aka cobblestone streets, aka "where sex and the City was filmed. That south, and even closer. Some streets have names there, too.
Chelsea! The good blocks. It's next to the West Village, west Chelsea art galleries and the High Line park, fifth avenue and the Flatiron building, chock-a-block with hundreds of cafes, eateries, bodegas, fine dining, esoteric museums, aspiring models, hipster juice (or jazz) bars, while still maintaing a breezy neighborhood feel. Open 24/7, every corner, a market, Every trendy imaginable thing, and more iterations of it that you dreamed possible: Chelsea. For a more exhaustive discussion of the neighborhood, please see the 27 paragraph long description of "the space," above or the house manual. Quiet! (For New York City) Despite extremely close proximity to everything described, your brownstone is in the middle of a leafy-tree lined residential neighborhood. There is minimal foot traffic. Compare this with staying any where near 34th Street (Penn Station) or near Times Square, where the sidewalks are teaming with people, packed like sardines in a tin, but in motion, nonstop. Fun to visit-then return to your close and quiet luxe digs.
  • We had a great stay in Rod and Paddington's beautiful apartment. Communication throughout was amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were all set for our trip. Rod met us at the apartment and showed us around and gave us some great tips on things to do in NYC. The apartment itself was bigger than I expected with a particularly well proportioned bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The apartment has everything that you could possibly need for your stay in New York and is in a great location. We walked pretty much everywhere, although the subway is close by. All in all we would very much recommend staying in Rod and Paddington's beautiful apartment.

    Anna2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Rod met us at the door and was gracious enough to show us the ins and outs of the apartment. He was curious as to our plans and offered wonderful advice for additional sites to see and things to do during our stay. We will try and stay in their place whenever we come to New York.

    Christora2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic home and great location--the host could not have been more gracious. I highly recommend!

    John2015-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Before we arrived Rob couldnt be more helpful - giving me political and historical insights as well as info about our vacation. Rod was an excellent, knowledgeable host. We arrived late but Rod was there to meet up and show us round the apartment. As the next guests were not due to arrive until the evening we had a very flexible check-out. We were even able to do some last-minute drying in the washer-dryer after an unexpected downpour. Chelsea is a superb base to explore New York - it's well-connected and has excellent small bistros, cafes, coffee shops and restaurants. The High Line is unmissable. The apartment is thoughtfully-designed, has plenty of charm, a super-comfy bed, 25Mb broadband. The bathroom is perhaps a little cluttered but the shower is reliable and decent. Overall the listing is accurate and the premises tick all the boxes. I'd certainly be keen to come back next time we visit NYC.

    John2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great welcome from Rob who was waiting for us on arrival. Showed us around the apartment, told us the essentials then left us to it. Apartment was as lovely as described on the listing. We were impressed by the level of thought that had obviously gone into everything that was provided. Everything we could possibly want was there (kettle, hairdryer and iron/ironing board for instance). quiet location but near subways and some fantastic eateries. We found The Dish (round the corner on 8th) great for breakfast And the Bathtub Gin Speakeasy on 9th fantastic for atmosphere, food and gin! (Booking essential). Overall a great experience and would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting NYC.

    Louise2015-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic apartment and hosts, we couldn't have asked for better during our special visit (we got married during our stay!) It is exactly as described and for us it was the perfect location - away from super busy areas such as Times Square but close enough to get to everything easily or enjoy time in Chelsea itself visiting the market/comedy club etc Will definitely be planning our return, it made our first New York experience that much more perfect!

    Emma2015-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a week in the apartment and very much appreciated the early entry and the late exit. Never got to meet the hosts but Andre provided us with a warm and helpful welcome and when we had some problems he again proved to be able and so willing to assist.

    Graeme2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very well located!! It’s very clean and the bedroom is very quiet since it’s at the back over looking a patio and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Highly recommend!!

Location, Location, Location - 10 minute bus ride (1 stop) to NYC Times Square. Bus stop is a 2 mins walk from house and frequency is every few minutes for 24 hours. Super safe and Quiet neighborhood. Brand new, very clean, studio apartment with a private bath room, kitchenette and private work space. The studio is renovated with natural stone floors, high end finishings and closets, throughout the apartment. Breathtaking views of NYC 1 block away.
The Studio is located in the below ground section of the house. So you will need to walk up and down stairs, to enter and exit the building.
The famous Hamilton Avenue is a 2 mins walk away. This has breathtaking views of the city and a great place for a night stroll to near by restaurants.
  • Kam's place is exactly like the pictures and is great for a couple or 2 people at most. The place is clean and all the appliances work. Kam himself was a great guy and accomodated our requests for extra heating, a slightly earlier check in and a later check out. The views from the river are astounding and the place is very conveniently accessible to NYC without being exorbitantly expensive. The neighbourhood is quiet and residential and feels very safe. We'd definitely stay again if back to NYC. Regards, Harish and Mamta

  • Kam was a great host! The place was very comfortable and clean and in a great location. He left us a detailed note explaining some of the features of his place and how to navigate the city. He really simplified our stay, making it stress-free and fun. I would highly recommend staying with Kam if you ever find yourself in NYC!

  • This was a great place to stay. Fantastic location and everything said in previous reviews are spot on. The toilet is legit and the bed is comfortable.

  • Kam's place was great! Super close to NYC and very homey. He was quick to respond and was exactly as described. Bed was comfy and our stay was amazing:)

    Brooke2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how close and easy the bus was to the city! Kam was always quick to help in responses to our questions. We would gladly stay again :)

    Trinh2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for answering all my questions. The apartment is extremely nice. Very modern. I was very impressed with the kitchen and the bathroom. All new appliances and a Brita water filter pitcher, and a Bidet/toilet. The bed and sheets were extremely comfortable. And the neighborhood was so quiet, I loved that. The furnace was loud, so I probably should have brought earplugs based on his warning, lol. Conveniently, the bus stop was just a block away. Unfortunately, the New Jersey transit is not 100% predictable. So thankfully the Jitney transit was around. But buy your NJ Transit bus tickets as you go, not ahead of time. All in all, this was a very comfortable stay.

    Ashley2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kam is a great host, quickly responds and gives great local tips. Would definitely go back!

The room was like I expected, no surprise. He gave me a lot of tips about free or low prices places, and I did them all! I would go back there anytime.

Enjoy Central Park views from your bedroom window! This is the ideal room for those who like easy access to the high energy city by day, but prefer to come home to a peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood to get a good night of rest. Please read the whole profile, most of your questions will be answered below! :)
Although I live in the apartment as well, guests will have full privacy in the guest area of my apartment with a private bedroom, private bathroom, and undisturbed entrance. You're welcome to use my shared living room and kitchen like it's your own home, with stunning views of Central Park's wooded forest. This is a perfect place for those visiting Columbia University, which is only three blocks away. There is space for a third and fourth guest on the sofa bed and couch in the living room, at additional cost. I don't recommend bringing a fifth guest (it will feel cramped!) but if you need to, there is additional space in the living room, two on the queen sofa bed, one on the regular couch. The building has everything you need: laundry, a room to store bicycles, and an elevator so you don't have to walk up the stairs after a long day of exploring the city.
Harlem is one of New York's most famous, exciting, and historically significant neighborhoods. Home to world-famous Harlem Jazz venues like Minton's and the Cotton Club, award winning restaurants like Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster, and abundant green spaces like Central Park, Morningside Park, and the Hudson River waterfront, you'll always have something memorable to explore right outside the apartment door. With incredible subway access, you can be in Times Square and the Museum of Modern Art in just 15 minutes. You'll also be at the edge of the Upper West Side, which contains the Museum of Natural History, plenty of great restaurants and shopping boutiques, and Lincoln Center with the world class Orchestra, Ballet, and Opera.
  • セントラルパークが本当に窓から見えるお部屋で、とても快適です。駅も近く、便利でした。水まわりもリビングも快適ですし、wifiも問題なく使えました。お母様が同居しています(とても素敵な方です)。

  • The apartment is well located, facilities were great, nicely decorated. The soud of the birds in Central Park were a great "wake-up call"! Alex was a great host, with quick answers to all our questions! It was a great time in NYC!

  • We had a great time in NYC and this place really helped. It is super quiet which in our experience is hard to find in the city. Local markets, Central Park and the subway are all right there. The private bathroom is also really nice and hard to find. We recommend this place.

We are renting a completely private 1st floor studio apartment in our home. The apartment has a private entrance in the front of the house. There is a private bathroom and a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink (there is not a stove however many restaurants are near by and deliver). The studio comes with internet, cable TV and and an iPod docking station. There are marble floors with a decorative fireplace. There are two beds - one single bed and the other is a single trundle bed (which means it pulls out from the bottom of the first bed). So one bed is lower than the other bed. There are two large windows that face the street with lots of sunlight. We provide bed linen, towels, dishes, an iron with ironing board and a blow dryer. Please note this is a small studio which is a bit tight for two people. If you reserve more than one guest we rent for a maximum of 7 nights. **This is a non-smoking property** Transportation: Our subways are the L and M trains to Myrtle Wykoff station, or J to Gates Ave Street station. Both stations are parallel to the house, and are about a 7 to 10 minute walk in a moderate pace. It is a 20 minute ride to 14th street in Manhattan. It is about a $25.00 cab/car ride to JFK, LaGuardia and downtown Manhattan. The B52 and B26 buses are just a couple of blocks away. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a new, beautiful, clean, safe, affordable studio apartment close to Manhattan, Fort Green and Williamsburg. We are located in the middle of Bushwick Brooklyn. ***** We are a no smoking house***** * $100 security deposit will be refunded upon your departure
  • Perfect place to spend the night! Very clean and well appointed for an in law. Franck and Joshua were very helpful and responsive!

    Ben2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was clean, safe and cozy . The hosts were communicative, friendly and also gave me privacy. I was there for one night and the studio was perfect.

    Jules2016-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had the chance to stay at Franck and Joshua's place for two nights. The studio is exactly as shown in the pictures: it's small, but clean et it has everything you need for a short stay! Franck and Joshua were out of the country during our stay, but were very helpful by email before and the neighboor who greeted us was nice.

    Véronique2014-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Franck and Joshua were very accommodating when we arrived later than expected. Franck gave lots of great advice about the area and suggested a wonderful (and inexpensive) bakery that we visited multiple times. The apartment itself was very clean and true to the pictures. It's quite small but is perfect for a short stay. We had some problems with the door however Franck and Joshua were very easy to contact and resolved the problem quickly through their neightbour Paulina as they were in Philadelphia at the time. Franck bought a new door knob though so the issue is likely resolved by now!!! The area is quite safe and has good transport links (3 subway lines nearby). The ride takes around 20 mins to get into the city. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice apartment near Manhattan. The hosts are super helpful too!

    Kylie2014-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Franck and Joshua kept up the communication frequently before we arrived and it was great to know they were always contactable and kept us up to date with their movements. The listing is exactly as it appears on the page and is perfect if you just want a nice and comfortable place to rest your head before you explore the entire city, like we did. The neighbourhood is a very traditional Brooklyn vibe and the locals were very friendly and welcoming. This place has a heap of options around it for the subway and we had no problems getting around.

    Joey2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This plave is exactly as described. Franck and Joshua are great communicators and I had everything I needed.

    Christopher2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I spent one overnight in Franck and Joshua's studio. From the solicitation for reservation to check out, the interaction was professional, friendly, and accommodating. We received multiple email communications prior to arrival as the hosts wanted to assure all of our needs would be met. That is exactly what happened. I was only able to converse with Franck, in person, at an appreciable length. He is cultured, worldly, humorous, easy to speak with and a delight. We were welcomed into the home as if an extension of family. My friend and I felt so amused and comfortable. The space and amenities are all one or 2 guests needs. Amenities: fridge, microwave, TV (though we did not use), twin bed and trundle bed; wifi (!!!), iron and ironing board, toiletries, towels and wash clothes, kitchenware, AC. Whatever was needed, we were provided. I was able to communicate by email and text message. I could imagine staying here for an extended period of time. The decor is very chic and global. The color palette is warm and inviting (I like that kind of thing which is why I comment). The layout provides for great utility of space and resources. Despite the intimate size, my friend and I did not feel as if we were constantly in one another's way. It worked well. The unit is located in a residential Bushwick area with many brownstones. It is not suburbia so do not expect quiet surroundings. Occasionally, there was the obstreperous breakthrough of outside sounds. However, it wasn't frequent enough to be intrusive and I was able to sleep without such interruption. The studio is close to many modes of transportation (bus, L-train, walking). My friend and I walked to Williamsburg and back. It was a distance but we enjoyed watching the changing landscape and demographics. Brooklyn is a great heterogeneous and dynamic borough. We would recommend this unit to anyone looking to stay a day or more in a beautiful home with wonderful hosts at a great price. Thank you, Franck and Joshua, for sharing your space. Cheers!

    A2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Franck and Joshua's place in Bushwick. It's clean, cozy and had everything we needed. Franck and Joshua were available if we needed them and answered all questions we had. We would definitely stay there again given the chance.

This apartment is a 1-minute walk from 3 major subway lines, and centrally-located between midtown and downtown - offering easy access to most of NYC’s tourist attractions. It is situated on the border between the young and stylish East Village/Lower East Side neighborhoods, and just steps from countless inexpensive restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. A memory-foam bed, Netflix, and recent-renovation provide comfort and complete the authentic New York experience!
***** To book, please send me an inquiry and tell me a little bit about yourself and your arrival/departure. I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have. If you arrive on a Wednesday or Friday I can leave you a key but likely won't be home to clean your room until 6:30pm. I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Tim ***** Situated in a recently-renovated two-bedroom apartment (shared with me), your private room is furnished with brand-new amenities, including a desk, ultra-comfortable queen-size memory foam mattress, soft towels and a 26" flat screen TV with Netflix. A renovated bathroom is shared with me. Your room has a south-facing window with lots of light and a blackout shade. It overlooks a lively corner, which can sometimes be a little noisy (mostly on the weekends). I am happy to provide earplugs for your comfort. You will have access to the roof and its fantastic view of the Freedom Tower, the Chrysler Building and more. The room has its own air conditioning during the summer and its own heater during winter.
One of the New York City’s liveliest and trendiest neighborhoods, the Lower East Side offers countless restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and performance venues for you to enjoy. (Pianos, Spitzer's, Schiller's, Beauty and Essex, Arlene's Grocery, The Box and GalleryBar are just a few nightlife examples). The neighborhood is dynamic, safe and has a lot to offer historically - in the past it served as home to so many of the city's immigrants that it even has its own museum (The Tenement Museum). Staying in the Lower East Side is easy, with food, other supplies and laundry readily available and close by. There is a laundromat less than one block from the apartment where you can wash or have your clothing washed, and a grocery store in the building next door. The subway (about a minute's walk from the apartment) offers easy transportation all over the city, though it's also possible to walk to many of the city's sites if you enjoy walking. When you are ready to explore further, you can check out other stylish neighborhoods nearby, including SOHO, Greenwich Village, the East Village, NOHO and more.
  • Tim's place is located near tons of food, shopping, transportation, close to Brooklyn and is in a very walkable neighborhood!

    Florian2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was one of the best hosts I've ever met. Room was really nice, clean, and comfortable. Simply an excellent stay.

    Terry2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is very friendly, and his place is exactly as described! Clean and in a great location, I would definitely stay here again!

    Addison2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a great host! He was accommodating when it came to our check-in & greeted us with a glass of water and any suggestions we needed but was really laid back. When we checked out, he was incredibly flexible and helpful by allowing us to keep our bags at his place while we went about our plans, but couldn't get into our next AirBnB just yet. The space was exactly as described-- Clean, comfortable, charming & in a great location with a lot of really wonderful places to grab a drink, dinner, or just take a nice walk. Rooftop access, which was a perfect place to just un-wind. I would suggest Tim's home to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in a lively neighborhood with a lot of personality.

    Alyssa2015-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? Tim is the most perfect host one could possibly imagine. He is welcoming and friendly, an invaluable source of local knowledge - which on the lower east side, this is indeed a blessing, he directed me to so many good places and good times. He is always free for a chat but by the same token he gives you all the space you need, never once did I feel I was either been crowded or ignored. The room itself is beautiful; immaculately presented with a great view, it is spacious and has possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever enjoyed on my trips to the USA. Tim was incredibly flexible with check-in/out times and didn't mind when I would stumble (trying to be quiet but sometimes failing) home in the wee hours of the morning. In short, absolutely flawless. I just hope he isn't booked out the next time I visit because I would not want to stay anywhere else!

    Elliot2013-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was an excellent host. I definitely would stay with him again!

    Tiina2014-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience using Airbnb, and Tim helped make the experience great. The location of his apartment is perfect! There's a subway stop down the street; it's a hop skip and jump away from Chinatown; and best of all - it's close to the East Village. Although it can get noisy at night, that comes with the territory of staying in the City itself (Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper - I'm not). Tim's apartment is surrounded by bars and eateries! So at night the neighborhood is very lively, loud, and fun! You can spend most of your time in his neighborhood, and you'll never get bored. Tim's apartment was clean and exactly as described. Thankfully he has an AC unit in the room (NY nights can be disgustingly hot). I have no complaints about his apartment or the building, but I will say this - there many apartment buildings without an elevator, and Tim's is no different. It's a workout to get up to his apartment, but a good one! Also, take an advantage of his rooftop! The views are so cool during the day and at night. You can see the 1 WTC! But be mindful of the people below. Overall, my stay was excellent, and Tim was readily available, as well as his friend who always replied in a timely manner. He was very organized and prepared, and that works for a person like me, who plans out every detail. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet Tim, but we communicated months before my visit and even while I was staying at his place. He made sure that our stay was enjoyable. Reasons to stay here: Location. Cleanliness. Views of the city. Convenience.

  • The apartment is newly furnished with a clean and simple design. The location is perfect in Soho, with a 5-10 minute walk to the east and west side subway stations. It's not too noisy, considering the downtown location, since it's in the back of the building. It's a quintessential, cozy NYC apartment.

  • Lovely apartment and a lovely host. Really fast at replying and helpful. Cleaning fee is very high compared to the nightly rental cost.

  • Beautiful NYC apartment in the best location! Clean, sunlight and airy, perfect for two to explore the city. Sam was very accommodating, helping us make the most of our stay.

    Amanda2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's apartment is in a perfect location! Great neighborhood, quiet apartment. It was an excellent experience!

    Megan2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Overall great experience. Awesome location between the west village and soho and the apartment was very clean with a spacious bedroom and bathroom. Sam made check-in/out very easy and was nice enough to accommodate us with an extra hour when we asked. Would definitely stay here again.

    Antonio2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place was great! Exactly as advertised and extremely clean. Great location in the city. He was very attentive on the first night to make sure that we got the keys and into the apartment without trouble. Would definitely stay again!

    Elizabeth2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's apartment was great! Very close to a bunch of great restaurants and is shielded from any street noise.

    Andrew2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little soho apartment. The host Sam was amazing, constantly there to answer our many questions and gave us an early check in which helped so much. The apartment location is fabulous, near all great restaurants and the subway. It is in a beautiful apartment building and opposite the laundromat which was handy to have our clothes washed & pressed. Fresh towels were in the room & it was very clean! The apartment is good for NYC standards, however I would only recommend it for two people. The futon was very uncomfortable & had a broken leg so it was unstable and there was only one spare blanket which meant it was a little cold at night (travelling in late spring). The shower had low pressure which proved difficult when trying to wash our hair & there was no iron. Other than a few small things, it is a very well priced air BnB and I would recommend it for a couple travelling New York ! Thank you

Fresh sheets and towels are also included. This is one of four rooms in the apartment available for bookings, and you will likely be a guest at the same time as other Airbnb guests. Adam and myself jointly manage the listings and will be around frequently, but no longer live in the apartment. Please note, the apartment is a five flight walkup. The kitchen is very big (lots of counter space) and always available for your use! You'll probably be exploring Manhattan and all it has to offer, but the large and very comfortable living room is always welcoming to return to. The bed is SUPER comfortable and came highly recommended from friends who'd purchased similar. Our calendar is always updated, so please let us know if you have any questions aside from availability. Thanks! Chelsea has hundreds of art galleries and also contains the High Line, an old elevated rail line converted to a walking trail. Lots of great restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood, short walk to the Meatpacking District, and Chelsea's central location means that other neighborhoods are a short subway/taxi ride away.
  • My host was great - easy to communicate with. There was an issue with the key kiosk which took up a good hour of my time, a cab ride, and a couple cold beers while I waited - but Tom brought me the key personally. It was not his fault at all that the kiosk was off line. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to find everything I needed. The A,B,C line is a block away.

  • Tom and his roommate Adam were super nice and very accommodating when my flight was delayed until 1am. The apartment was generally clean. The 5th floor walkup did not bother me as that can be quite standard for new york. The room is very bare bones with a bed a side table with a lamp and an empty closet. The bed was pretty comfortable. After check in I did not see Tom or Adam once in 4 days. The experience was as advertised but I will not be staying here again.

  • I had an amazing stay at Tom's place. Even though I didn't see Tom, I had lovely chat with his mom. The place is very clean, comfortable, and located in a nice convenient neighborhood-drugstores, metro, art galleries, cafes and restaurants, all within walking distance. Will I stay at Tom's place next time I'm in town? HELL YEAH

  • I want to find a affordable place to stay for two nights in NYC. My requirements includes: walking distance to Bolt bus's stop (33rd 8Ave something?), hot shower, 24 hours access availability (including key pick-up), clean environment and a comfortable bed. Tom's room completely match that. It's only 15min walking from bus station and convenient to subway. I arrived NYC at 11 and picked up my key in the nearest 7-eleven at 11:30pm. The apt is on 6th floor -- I don't mind stairs anyway. The room is small but clean -- just big enough for a queen-size bed and a small closet. The bathroom is on the other side of the room, and all the necessary supplies are provided by the host. I didn't see anyone during my stay but I know there were travelers there too. People were nice and quiet.

  • On the whole, the listing is accurate: the apartment is clean, well-stocked, and well-maintained, in a good location that's convenient to transit. But there are several downsides: 1) Keys. If the hosts aren't there in person -- they weren't for my stay -- key handoff is a bit fussy. They use a kiosk service, which in theory is great but the location is a (not-exactly-) convenience store that's just far enough away (650 meters/0.4 miles, according to (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps) to be annoying if you have luggage with you. 2) Bathroom. It isn't quite clear from the listing that the "1 bathroom" in fact serves up to 4 separate bedrooms, each of which could host two guests (although I wouldn't recommend the room I stayed in for two, as explained in more detail below). Fortunately, my schedule was pretty different from the other guests', so we weren't all trying to get a shower on Monday morning before running to JFK. 3) Aircon. They're in the bedrooms only, not the common areas. It got up to 90 degrees the weekend I was there, and on a sixth-floor walkup you feel it. 4) The room. Oh boy. The first problem is that they've tried to fit a queen-size bed into a room that really can't accommodate more than a double -- the radiator is just slightly too large for the bed to squeeze in. Consequently, the head of the bed is actually about a foot away from the wall (the photo is taken at an angle that conveniently masks this detail). It may sound minor, but since the bed also has no headboard, there's no real way to prop yourself up for, say, reading in bed. Or even just giving your pillow something to press against so your head doesn't end up flopping over the back of the bed. I tried to fill the gap with my suitcase, which provided a bit of help but wasn't enough. And then there's the second problem. Note the position of the aircon. It's right above the head of the bed. It's new, but vibrates whenever the compressor kicks on. And it's an inch from your skull in any natural sleeping position. I dealt with it by lying across the bed diagonally, but that was possible only because I was by myself. On the whole it's still a good value for location, and I might well not have minded being in one of the other rooms. But I wouldn't come back to this one. Swapping in a double-bed -- or, preferably, a twin -- would deal with the problem nicely.

  • This was my second time at Tom's. Tom & Adam were, as always, very welcoming. For logistics purposes they were always contactable via text, email or phone and, of course, they always replied in a timely fashion, all super practical. Friendly hosts in a friendly neighbourhood. Apartment is well located and perfectly linked via NYC Subway system. Room is air conditioned which really helped during the NYC summer and its bed is super comfy. Will certainly come back!!!

    Pablo2014-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay. The location is amazing (right in Chelsea!) and Adam was very polite and helpful. Would stay here again.

    Ahmad2015-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Adam were extremely kind and helpful in all kind of matters, especially answering my sometimes annoying questions. The information provided was truthful and accurate. The neighborhood is safe, nice and easy to reach. In all, a great experience!

  • We had an absolutely incredible stay. The rooftop terrace provides such a wonderful view of the city. I cannot wait to stay here again. The apartment is beautiful and in such a great location. Hillary had so many resources for the area in her room as well as a very helpful sheet covering all the basics of the apartment. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. Thank you Hillary!!

    Brianna2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Positives: There is no flat better located than this one; the subway is right there, and you can walk to all sorts of great places like Central Park. The rooftop dining space is beautiful and is definitely unique. New York apartments are tiny, so it's more like booking a hotel room than an apartment but that's absolutely fine. The shower is also really good. On the negatives: Hilary was 45min late to drop the keys off - this was deeply annoying, particularly as she didn't let us know and didn't respond to our calls or texts asking where she was or even apologise when she got there. Also it was raining heavily. The corridor carpet needs a wash (bedroom has wooden floors) Big one is there's no air-con and the fan won't cool you so be aware you'll get super hot if it's hot or humid.

  • Perfect little place to spend a night in New York City. The surrounding is a very safe area. Would recommend!

  • Great Location, near Subways, Supermarket & restaurants. The flat is safe but a bit noisy at night between 3ave & 2Ave. Nice decoration inside. The place is fine for Breakfast but you cannot cook there. No kitchen , no sink. A nice place for a few days out in NYC

    Bruno2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect midtown spot. The mattress could be replaced soon, but I'm a memory foam user. Everything was as described. Hillary was fantastic, quick / clear communication. Highly recommend

  • Very cute little place! Loved staying there! Easy walk to the subway line. Found it very easy to find and to get around. The bed was very comfy and so was the pillow! The roof top was a great place to chill! Awesome views up there.

    Tiana2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was VERY centrally located, and close to many museums including MOMA. Hilary made us feel welcome by providing detailed lists with information about food shopping, and coffee shops in the area, transportation, and entertainment. We also enjoyed being in a penthouse and far from street level. This is an ideally suited location for people wanting to spend a few days in the city. It is very convenient to have Whole Foods only 4 blocks away

Enjoy this cozy, colorful, second bedroom in hip Williamsburg! Our cozy apartment is just a quick 20 minute train ride from downtown Manhattan, and the neighborhood boasts an array of bars, restaurants, and shops.
We're renting out our second bedroom in Williamsburg. This charming room has a full size bed and a courtyard-facing window. It is quiet, spacious, and colorfully decorated. The entire apartment was gut renovated in June 2013 and it's located in a beautiful, clean pre-war building. Both the kitchen and bathroom have all-new appliances and fixtures. The kitchen boasts exposed brick and a sunny, courtyard-facing window. The entire apartment gets plenty of natural sunlight all day, and is breezy in the afternoons.
Our apartment is located in the heart of Williamsburg, right near two different subway stops. We're within easy walking distance of Metropolitan Avenue, Grand Street, and Union Avenue, all of which are bustling with shops, restaurants and bars, grocery stores, delis, laundromats, anything you might need. You'll also be a short train ride into the city as well. 20 minutes from Manhattan, the apartment is conveniently located between the J and M at Hewes and the L and G at Lorimer. Both subway stations are within 3-5 minutes walking distance. For those with a car, the BQE is just a few blocks away.
  • Very good first experience in NYC at Megan and Andi's place. The accomodation is just as described and depicted. Hosts are friendly and available for any question one may have, but at the same time they keep with their lives on, which also provides privacy. Some bars, shops and restaurands within walking distance (Bedford av in Williamsburg), otherwise not much around. Very good connections by subway (J/M) to lower Manhattan and Midtown (longer ride for the later one). Other subway lines can also be found nearby. Very convenient location for visiting Brooklyn as well. Definetely a good place to stay. - M&K

  • Megan was great and the bedroom was perfect for my trip. The location was great with very easy to access Manhattan and the trendy spots in Williamsburg.

    Erin2015-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was an extraordinary host. She was attentive, generous and extremely considerate. She did everything for us to have a great stay in her beautiful house. The location is great, close to everything fun in Brooklyn and close to public transport to access Manhattan. Totally recommend - would return any time.

    Miguel2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Room was great! Awesome style, loved the little trinkets throughout the home. Attention to detail was spot on, even providing ear plugs if needed (didn't need them as it wasn't loud) a map, which was super useful and what we used to get around town. Has the metro lines on there, which was great. Bathrobes and coat hangers were much appreciated as we were there for 5 nights, meant we could unpack our bags and settle in. Bed was reeeeally comfortable and air con in the room was really good as well. Didn't see Megan much at all, just in passing. Very good with communication, especially on check in. Good shower and a storage cupboard for guests in the bathroom, with a hair dryer etc. Megan has little signs throughout the home which are really cute and helpful. You can tell she is a designer 😊 thanks for having us Megan!

    Tessa2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Megan's place is close to lots of bars and restaurants and it's an easy commute to Manhattan. Communication with the host was easy and the apartment was clean.

  • Todo impecable! Megan fue una excelente anfitrión, muy recomendable!!

    Pablo2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay in Megan's place in Williamsburg. The room was exactly as described and is very artistically decorated. Very good AC, which was much appreciated as we adjusted to NYC's summer humidity! We also loved getting to know Williamsburg and found a couple of really good brunch spots in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately, we were like ships passing in the night and didn't actually get to meet Megan but communication was always easy and efficient. Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Emily2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was great to communicate with before arrival, she answered all our silly questions promptly including how best to get to her apartment. When arriving and hauling our luggage up the stairs we were instantly charmed by her stunning apartment. She's obviously put a lot of thought into making sure that guests are cared for. There is space for storage in the bathroom, hand creams in the bedroom and complimentary ear plugs (not that we needed them). The house looked immaculate, like in the pictures. I loved Megan's decorating. The apartment has lots of natural light and Megan's choice in art and all the little plants gave the place a special tranquil feel. The bed is really comfy too. The apartment itself is so close to everything. In just a few minutes you are right in the thick of Williamsburg and closet to the metro to Manhattan. It was awesome having this place as our HQ and exploring the sites from there. I'm sure we will stay here again next time we are in town :)

  • Great place to stay. A bit of a walk to the subway, around 15 - 20 mins max but was fine. Area outside is lovely at all times in the day, lively neighbours sometimes even add some music which was nice. Amazing host, so attentive, great communication. Would have been great to have a guestbook as we could leave some recommendations, that was the only downfall not being able to share all the gems we found.

Your Private Bedroom is located on the top floor of a classic Harlem brownstone, with a full guests-shared kitchen and bath. The home is located on Sugar Hill and is across the street from St. Nicholas Park and Hamilton Grange.
The Private Room is on the top floor of a classic Harlem brownstone, build in 1901. It is gorgeous and comfy, facing the back of the house. You will have soft light during the day, and quite at night.
Hamilton Heights is a beautiful neighborhood in upper Harlem. It a residential community, the neighborhood is very peaceful and quite during the day and night. However, it is also home to some of the best restaurants and bars in Harlem.

  • Very quiet area and easy access to public transit. If you bring your vehicle, it may be a little difficult to find parking. The accommodations were nice and the hostess, Glenda, was very welcoming!

    Kaylenne2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dear Glenda, thank you for welcoming us on Thursdaynight. Staying in this lively neighborhood was nice: restaurants, shops and coffeebars everywhere. We got a good first impression at your typical Harlem apartment.

    Tanya2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great 2-day stay at Glenda's! The place is exactly as described. The bedroom was pretty large, and the bed was a good size. Only complaint is that it was a VERY firm bed. Not a huge bother but worth noting. Check-in was a breeze as keys were available in a lock box. I arrived very late at night so I was happy to have not bothered anyone getting inside and to my room. Glenda lives in a very separate part of the apartment, so I never met or saw her during my stay, but she communicated with me via Airbnb. There is a quaint kitchen and a nice size bathroom. I didn't have any issues sharing the bathroom with other guests. It really did feel like a hotel room rather than a home, which I preferred. The neighborhood is beautiful and lots of access to food and groceries. 5 minute walk to subway. I really have no complaints and recommend this room to anyone looking to stay in Manhattan for a great price. Don't hesitate to rent this room!!! :)

Vecindario tranquilo.

    Pia2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my friend, we really enjoyed our stay at Glenda's house. The rooms are exactly as described. The house is located on a beautiful, quiet street just off of St Nicholas Av, 5 min walk to subway. It's an historic area very beautiful and safe. Glenda is so beautiful and lovely. She gave us a great advice to where to go to listen good music and have a drink. We really appreciated. Glenda's house is a place to stay in NYC, definitely!!! :-)

Gem-like, art-filled exquisitely-furnished south-facing studio, with exposed brick, high ceilings, garden views, two closets, and a hallway galley kitchen. Steps from subway. My personal home -- let only when I'm out of town -- with character to match.
This studio is my full-time home and I love it passionately. I rent it only occasionally -- when I'm out of town for work -- to responsible people I hope will love it as much as I do. It's got an ideal layout: a hallway with two (two!) closets, a bathroom with tub, a galley kitchen, and a spacious-feeling south-facing main room, with exposed brick and enough space for entertaining, sleeping, working, and more. The apartment is located in an elevator building on a quiet, historic tree-lined street.
The Upper East Side has it all. There's the UES of Edith Wharton and Gossip Girl -- the grand museums of Museum Mile, elegant shops, Park Avenue promenades. But Yorkville, where I live, has both easy access to this UES (the m86 is 30 seconds from the apartment), has a bohemian character all its own. Tons of independent bookstores, coffee shops with local poetry reading series, vintage and consignment shopping, great food. One of the few Manhattan neighborhoods to have "mom and pop" shops (you can find a local baker, fishmonger, 3 butchers, and produce shops within a 3-block radius!). One block from Carl Schurz Park and the riverside promenade.
  • Tara is the best hostess! Very friendly, flexible, easy to reach and get quick response from. She provided very detailed useful practical information! This contributed to make many everyday things work easy for a NYC-rookie as me - and make me feel completely safe and secure during my stay. The apartment is homey, comfortable and unique. I love the art and brick wall. It had what I needed during my stay - nice light/bright bathroom, kitchen facility, nice big bed, closet/drawer space for my clothing, couch, AC to beat the heat, wifi and (bonus!) loudspeakers to play music. Yorkville is a very charming neighborhood. East 87th Street is pleasantly quiet, however, near busy streets where you can find good restaurants and grocery stores. I loved charming Carl Schurz Park located by the East River, just two blocks away (Tara's recommendation!). I have enjoyed my stay in Tara's home very much! When I come back to New York City (I definitely will) I hope I can rent it again :)

  • Great apartment in a decent location, everything u need is around from bars to grocery, laundry, pharmacy etc. Subway and Bus are only minutes away in walking distance. The area it is in is also nice, especially the Carl Schulz Park which is only 5 minutes away. Host is very responsive and friendly, would always recommend this apartment.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at this cozy, central and nice apartment for two weeks while visiting NYC for the first time. The combination of feeling at home, which Tara makes sure you do, while being in a new big city, was perfect for us. Tara is truely a great host, who responded to our requests quickly and helped us out with any questions we had. The apartment was suitable for two persons and with a small kitchen, it was possible to make some meals at home, making the vacation less expensive. The appartment is a nice walk away from Central Park and not long from a subway station to take you anywhere you want to go. There is several grocery shops nearby too. We have already started planning our next trip to NYC and we will definitely hope that Tara's apartment is available.

  • Isabella was a great host and her place was great too. She was very accommodating of our arrival schedule and super responsive for our questions. She was also very thoughtful in giving us info we needed for the apartment. Her place is lovely and a great size for a single or couple.

  • Cozy and charming. Very convenient with the new Second Ave subway line just two blocks away.

    Steven2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tara was a lovely host, her apartment was cosy, neat and 'homey'. Before we arrived she send us an email with suggestions to good cafes, bars and restaurants in the neighborhood and "quick introduction" to the area. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, close to the water and to central park, with the subway it was easy to go to the city center. Tara was a very attentive hostess and even that she was in a totally different time zone or traveling, she answered emails and texts quickly and precise. I would love to stay here again when/if returning to NYC.

    Thomas2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I chose Isabella's place due to the close proximity to the hospital where my mom had knee surgery done. Her place is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. She gave me a complete run down on her place and the neighborhood before I arrived via email. This being my first Airbnb experience I didn't know quite what to expect, but Isabella was always prompt in responding to my various questions and requests. Her place is accessible to public transportation and and the neighborhood is very safe. My mom and I stayed there for an extended amount of time and felt like true locals. I did encounter a problem returning the keys though. The Keycafe service used for key exchange didn't recognize the fob on the keys and I was stuck there trying to figure it out while I had my mom waiting in a cab with the meter running to go to the airport. I called the Keycafe customer service number and after 30 minutes was able to get one of the drawers unlocked so I can deposit the keys. It was stressful start to my journey back home.

  • Jake is a very nice guy and we felt very welcome! We met at a Cafe, which was near to the apartment and easy to find. He showed us everything and he sent us a list of the best restaurants in the area. The apartment was perfect for me and my son. It made our stay even better. If we come back, we would love to stay there again.

    Petra2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jake's place is perfect. It's a hidden gem. The kitchen area is fantastic - tons of natural light at the table in the morning makes it perfect for breakfast. The bathroom is clean, and gives you everything you need to get ready. The bedroom is layed out just right to make you feel as comfortable as can be. To top it off, roof access is easy, safe and offers a great view. The location of the apartment is crazy good. It's within walking distance of awesome places like Pho Grand, Clandestino, Football Cafe, Metrograph theater and, of course, a great deli, Highline Deli 2. The train is close by as well. I couldn't ask for more from an apartment in the city. Round of applause for Jake!

    Jason2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • It is an amazing option to visit NY. It has a great location and a nice terrace with a view to the WTC and other buildings. The place is tight for two but is enough, we stayed 8 days very comfortably. Jake is a great host. Thanks!

    Javier2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jake's place is plain and simple. And if he described it as such then he would have nothing but positive reviews. I am widely travelled, used to making do and happy to live simply. However I can completely understand why some would not be happy on viewing Jake's apartment - the key is don't oversell. There is minimal kitchen equipment - it would help if Jake made a trip to Ike (or equivalent) and invested a modest amount in basic kitchen needs. All the kitchen cupboards could do with a good clean. The bed is comfortable for one single person prepared to sleep on the downward sloping side - it would not be comfortable for a couple (it has a distinct slope). The furnishings are basic - and again it would help if Jake thought through the basic requirements of what people might need - a bedside lamp for example (although he was very amenable about changing the lightbulb for a stronger version when requested). The wardrobe is designed for someone over 6ft - the only way I could hang anything up was to stand on a stool. I was perfectly happy in the apartment - it is very well located on the edge of Chinatown in a warm, friendly neighbourhoor and suited my needs. However I would emphasise again - it is not as it is pictured or written about by Jake.

    Sarah2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay, beautiful apartment , I would highly recommend this place to anyone !

    Isaiah 2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location. Had a few issues but have raised these with the host.

    Kate2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect if u want a nice NYC visit and stay right in the middle of NYC’s best areas with lots of restaurants, coffe houses, galleries and nice stores. The rooftop terrace is amazing! One of the best thing of Jake’s place is that it’s located very close to a subway station. SO nice when you’re tired after a long day of walking and just want to have a rest.

    Malin2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • great host - started with the welcome at the place and great place to stay in town, next to subway.,couldn't take advantage of the rooftop terrace... too cool. next time!

Welcome to our garden apartment in Jersey City! Perfect for tourists trying to see nyc on a budget or for a longer term sublet, our one bedroom/ one bath is comfortable, quirky and fully stocked for you! A perfect green patch in the middle of the concrete jungle. Just 35 minutes to world trade center by public transit for a night on the town or a 10 minute Lyft to downtown JC. 5 minute walk to brand new Berry Lane park. 10 minutes by Lyft/ 20 minutes by light rail to Newport Mall.
Welcome to our home! We bought this two family home in JC ten months ago and have been working on both apartments to make them the perfect home for us (upstairs) and the perfect home away from home for our guests downstairs. This one bedroom/ one bath apartment on the ground floor is perfect for a family or group on a budget who'd like to visit NYC short term or for a single person or couple who'd like to sublet longer term. There is a private entrance from the street under the stairs. As you enter the apartment you'll see the kitchen/ living room with kitchen table, sofa with full size memory foam mattress TV and exposed brick wall. Next on your right is a European style washer/dryer combo unit, the bathroom and the bedroom is in the back with a queen size bed, dresser and closet with hangers. As you exit the back of the apartment you'll see the garden we've been lovingly working on for 6 months with the raised bed. Of course our guests are welcome to veggies that are in season during your visit. Feel free to lounge in the chair out back and enjoy our shady garden or enjoy and outdoor dinner at the table. The garden is also perfect for your furry friend, but please pick up after your poo :) We usually live right upstairs so if you have any questions/ needs don't hesitate to come on up and ask!
Our neighbors are mostly young families, in a typical urban New York/ New Jersey style. It may be a little closer quarters than you're used to if you're not familiar with the area, but everyone here is friendly and looks out for each other. There is a bodega around the corner where you can get sandwiches, meat, cheese, eggs, butter, snacks and some produce and a larger grocery store four blocks away. 4 blocks directly east is the beautiful Berry Lane Park where you can catch a soccer game, use the bike paths or let your furry friends run around in the dog run. At the northern end of the park is JC hooked and the factory, two of our favorite restaurants... all about a 10 minute walk away from the front door.
  • Katie and John are fantastic hosts. The appartment is nice, clean and gives you everything you and yours may need during your Holidays. Supermarkets and public transportation are within walking distance. Get your pizza or Lasagne from Jimmy`s Pizza place! They are just around the corner and they deliver too :-) When visiting NYC try taking the water ferry, a great alternative to the underground transportation. Greetings from Europe! J./V.

    Joerg2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Katie is amazing! Her place was perfectly located to public transportation. Great little touches with maps, bottle of wine, chocolates and quick responses. The place is adorable! The pictures dont do this place justice.

    Jennifer2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spectacular place to stay. Not only is it beautiful inside and in a great location to easily get into the city, but they went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of on our visit.

    Nichole2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Katie was an amazing host and really helpful, informative and supportive. The Apartment was great and just what we were looking for. Wish the apartment was slightly nearer to the PATH train station but it wasn’t a problem as we took an Uber there and a taxi back.

    Tammy2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's place is exactly what was described and seen in the photos. We loved the bed and the apartment decor was perfect. The only negative was that we didn't stay long enough, lol. Highly recommended.

    Andy2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and very accommodating...we loved staying there!

    Lori2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, Katie and John made you feel at home with the care package!

    Paul2018-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's apartment was just like shown in the pictures. She provided plenty or towels, some treats, soap, and was very responsive to messages. The apartment was clean and extremely comfortable. You can take the bus to NYC a couple of blocks away from the apartment. The fridge, TV, microwave, A/C, and all the amenities worked great during our stay. The only thing I didn't find like I expected was friendliness in neighbors. I didn't feel like I was in a family friendly neighborhood. There was a group of men a couple of blocks away from the apartment when I was walking back from the bus station to the apartment, who were fighting with snow balls and they almost hit me and my daughter with one, then ran away. That was the only unpleasant experience during my stay, but not exactly an issue with the apartment. Katie's place was beyond great.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Jay Cee's place while in town for a friend's wedding. The location was perfect! The neighborhood is safe and close to lots of sightseeing spots & restaurants. The apartment was spacious (for New York standards) and very well maintained. I would definitely stay here again whenever I come to the city. Communicating Jay Cee was a breeze and although I only communicated with him via email, he was always very nice.

THIS IS THE MANHATTAN YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED -PRIVATE MASSIVE TERRACE accessed directly from your living room -Classic views of NY (downtown, water towers) -Outdoor Barbecue -2 large bedrooms -2 full bathrooms Soho is the most chic neighborhood in Manhattan and possibly the world. The architecture, the people watching, the shopping and restaurants need no introduction. Even if you don't end up staying with me definitely stay somewhere else in Soho. Don't be fooled by second rate neighborhoods. Better to stay in a less expensive place in the best location than vice versa. OUTDOORS: -MASSIVE PRIVATE TERRACE ACCESSED DIRECTLY FROM YOUR APARTMENT: 95% of apartments in NYC that have photos of outdoor terraces/rooftops are shared spaces that you have to climb flights of steps just to reach, this is not one of those listings. -Most Soho apartments get very little sun, are quite often on the 4th floor of a walkup buiding and have no view of Manhattan. SKIP THE DINGY LOFTS AND ENJOY ONE OF THE BEST CLASSIC SOHO LOFTS. -Enjoy Classic NYC views of street-life and back alleys. -OUTDOOR BBQ and plenty of blankets provided so you can enjoy the terrace year round! -Huge outdoor couch and outdoor BBQ all surrounded by the iconic NYC look. -No need to go to a crowded rooftop bar where you have to buy a bottle just to get a table, when you can just step outside your door instead. INDOORS: -MASSIVE 2 BEDROOMS 2 FULL BATHS -HIGH CEILINGS -Apartment gets tons of sunlight (dark shades on all windows) -Recently gut renovated -Decorated by an interior designer with VERY HIGH END FURNITURE -Mater bedroom: King size bed, 40" TV with Roku, Soho view with cutting edge designed bathroom -Second Bedroom: Queen size bed, 40" TV, and amazing Soho feel. -Super luxurious living area with incredibly high end furniture and classic Soho loft decor -Chic artwork -High end kitchen fully stocked with appliances, cutlery, glasses, plateware -2 full bathrooms -Luxurious sheets with super high thread count -Soft and fluffy 900 GSM towels -3 Tvs with premium cable, Rokus and fast wifi AMENETIES: -NESPRESSO machine and milk frother and french press with ILLY coffee. -Anything else you need, just let us know we love to help our guests and provide a true 5 star experience. So if you want to stay in the center of it all but still have an unbelievable place to relax within the urban jungle this is the place. -Truly unique one of a kind apartment. There are no other apartments on Airbnb that compare and something similar in a hotel would cost 3 times as much as we charge. We also spend a lot of money providing a luxury experience to our guests. Please consider that before requesting a discount. Airbnb in NYC requires us to be discrete. In requesting and booking this apartment you agree to keep our business private. As far as anyone is concerned you are staying WITH me and I am on site and present during your stay. NYC is my adopted home and I love telling my guests all the great places that they would never find in a guide book. Tell me what you like to do and what type of restaurants you like, and I will help you design the perfect itinerary for your stay. Soho is the greatest area in New York City. You are literally in the heart of it. Right in Prince, Spring, Lafayette, Broadway area. Favorite restaurants: Sant Ambroeus Jack's Wife Frieda Cafe Select La Esquina Ed's Lobster Best Shops: Odin Creatures of Comfort In God We Trust Blk Denim Supreme Prada and every fancy store are just a couple blocks away Grocery: 2 blocks from Whole Foods 6 blocks from Dean & Deluca N, Q, R, W trains 1 block away 6 train is 2 blocks away B, D, F, M, 6 are 2 (really short) blocks away J, Z are 3 blocks away A, C, E, 1 are a short walk. One of the most convenient locations in NYC for exploring: -Times Square 15 minutes (by Subway) -9/11 Memorial 15 minutes (by Subway) -MOMA 17 minutes (by subway) -Rockefeller Center 15 minutes (by subway) -World Trade Center Memorial 20 minutes (by subway) -Soho, Nolita, East Village, Greenwich Village, West Village are all walking distance Although I am almost 90% booked year round, I often get inquiries that I "lose" to less expensive listings. Although it may go unnoticed by a casual glance at pictures, I am willing to bet I spend more on linens, cleanings, nespresso, Illy coffee, toiletries, soaps and other products per check in than some hosts spend all year. I want to make sure your stay is flawless and comparable to only a few high end hotels.
  • Patricia was an amazing host and her apartment is perfect for any trip to New York - great location, beautiful space. Most off all I appreciated the responsiveness and the fact that we truly got what was promised, something that sadly doesn’t happen enough on Airbnb. Definitely recommend!

    Aaron2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and clean space for a little taste of what downtown New York City is like

    Jackson2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay in Soho at this apartment. The host was very gracious and hospitable. The apartment was spacious, clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The back patio was a plus and enjoyable to relax there after the day’s adventures in the city.

    Laura2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is STUNNING (literally jaw dropping). Really high end furniture, tasteful and fun. The apartment is huge, clean and well-decorated, tall ceilings and felt like a true New York loft. The beds comfortably sleep 6 people. All mattresses were excellent and linens and towels were top quality. 2 spacious and luxuriously designed bathrooms handled my family with no problems and made us feel like we were at a spa. The location is great if you want to be close to Soho, Noho, NoLolita, Greenwich Village, Tribeca and the list goes on and on. We managed to walk to most places which really helped us get a feel of living like New Yorkers but the taxis are in abundance as well and reasonable. The view from the apartment of the city is particularly amazing at sunset when the color of the buildings change and then the night lights appear (the apartment in general is flooded with sunlight throughout the day; not your typical dark loft). We ended almost every day on the terrace drinking a glass of wine and unwinding. We mostly ate in restaurants but one night we went to Whole Foods and barbecued on the terrace (easy to use and very tasty). Patricia was such a fantastic and welcoming host. She was very accommodating with my check-in time, and knows the local area really well and provided an extensive list of restaurant and bar recommendations prior to my arrival. Coupled with Patricia's recommendations, you really can't go wrong. Checkin was planned in advance and completely seamless. All of the photos in this listing are accurate (actually better in person)- what you see is what you get! The building was also very safe. Thank you Patricia- I will definitely be back on my next trip!

  • We stayed as a family with a toddler and grandparents and it was a great spot. They had everything you could need already stock (aside from food of course). Good location wit easy access to shopping, groceries and catching transportation. The host was extremely friendly and responsive!

    Kristin2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely appointed, large, airy and amazingly quiet for Soho location. While the street isn't pretty, 4 subway lines are an easy walk as is all of Soho and lower Manhattan. Great beds and linens.

    Susan2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING. worth every dollar very helpful communication. right next to SOHO shops and life. I want to stay here every time i come to NYC

Michael provided snacks, food, and water and any information I needed for my stay. The location is safe and really close to the train station to get around. Prior to our trip he replied promptly to any questions I had, his apartment was just as described in a nice part of town and he made us feel very welcome with juice, fruit and snacks in the fridge to get us started. He gave us lots of helpful suggestions about how to get around the city and getting back to the airport at the end of our stay. The apartment was a good size ( I stayed with my 2 teenage boys) and the beds were really comfortable. There was very little noise from the other flats in the building or the street so we slept very well. We didn't see Michael during our stay but had his tel no in case there was a problem and saw him at the end. Thanks for a great holiday- would stay with you again!

Merci Michael ! Je recommande vivement son appartement !!

  • Michael's brownstone is a very comfortable and spacious apartment in a super lively and safe part of Harlem. The place was only a few blocks from the subway, so it was easy to travel all over the city and make it back without trouble. The furniture, decor, and amenities made it a very comfortable space that felt like a quiet haven in the middle of the city (especially with the back balcony and visiting birds & squirrels). Plenty of beds and space for at least three people along with all the resources you need to plan out a fun day in the city. Michael himself could not have been more hospitable. He was more than willing to accommodate us even though the earliest we could check-in was midnight on the first night of the stay due to travel restrictions. He was always prompt, kind, and helpful in responding to text messages and a lot of fun to talk to and be around in person. He even stocked up the fridge just in case we were to get snowed in. Would absolutely recommend Michael and his place to anyone and everyone visiting NYC. Don't be discouraged that it's located in Harlem; I was pleasantly surprised at how safe, fun, and accessible the neighborhood was.

  • I can say that I was lucky finding that place and such a good host! My friends and I were super excited, the place was just right that we wanted, cheap, comfy and safe, located just 3 blocks away from the subway. Everything was clean, organized, the place smelled really good, the deck and the parking spot was a great plus. Hey Mike you are doing great like a host! We hope see u again.

Comfortable room for one. Room is beautifully designed, private and clean. There is also shared bathroom and large kitchen. Room is located in a new home 5 minutes walk to the path train. 15minutes to Manhattan. Great area around the house with lots of restaurants, bars and stores.
There is a lot of different restaurants and there is great hip atmosphere in the neighborhood
  • The house is located at a great location. It is a family home but they give guests plenty of privacy. Carry your own towel and toiletries.

    Maria2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was nice and clean, small but comfortable room. Only missing a mirror in the room and that you cant sleep with open window because the room is on the ground floor. 10 Min. walk to Path (Train-) Station-than 5 Minutes to Manhatten WTC. Nice Restaurants and Cafés around, safe area. 20 Min Walk to a big shopping-mall and the Hudson River. Could see the freedom tower from the garden of the house. Sylwia was nice and helpful, easy going. Would stay again on her place. Thanks for all!

    Ulrike2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sylwia's place was very nice and cozy. There were many Restaurants within walking distance. The path train is also with in walking distance, maybe about a ten minute walk, making it easy to get in and out of NYC. Parking is a bit difficult due to street parking.

    Ashley2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Saubere, schöne und preisgünstige Unterkunft in sehr guter Lage !

    Barbara2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sylwia’s room was very nicely decorated, the house was clean and it smelled really nicely. I really liked the location. I’ve never been to Jersey before and I thought it would take me a lot of time to get to Manhattan, but it turned out to be only 2 stations away. And the train station is only 10 minutes away. But it was a pleasure to walk through this lovely neighborhood. Sylwia always responded quickly which was very helpful

    Polina2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sehr gut Verkehrsverbindungen path in 10min zu erreichen ruhige Gegend aber doch sehr zentral an Bars Restaurant und new Yorker und bahn netz

    paolo2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wrong door code and after two questions no direct info back. I must waiting nearly one hour. So i lost my first blue hour at Times Square. Also no info back to parking position in the near. Some fruit flies in kitchen. Room and bath are clean. Bed O.K, but for person over 1,85 a little bit short.

    Dirk2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't meet Sylwia during my stay but she's quick to response and her house is air conditioned and well maintained. It is located in a residential area so it's calm and quiet. Perfect to have a rest after a long day walking. There is a bus stop nearby that will take you directly to Manhattan or you can walk a little further (approx 15 mins) to a Path station. If you don't mind the short walk and where it's located, it's a good place to stay for a trip to NY.

This listing is for a private Loft space in a SHARED apartment. The Loft is suitable for 2 people. We also have a Full Bedroom listed in the same apartment, which you can see under our profile.
We have a lovely little 1 bedroom apartment with a private loft space on the Upper West Side. Close to the Subway, Central Park and walking distance from Times Square. The Loft has a roomy queen bed that will comfortably sleep 2 people. NOTE: THE LOFT IS A SPACE IN A SHARED APARTMENT. IT IS NOT THE WHOLE APARTMENT. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COMPLETE APARTMENT BY YOURSELF. The apartment is cozy with hardwood floors, a brick fireplace, and great city life views. The Loft space is up the stairs above the kitchen as pictured. The staircase may be a little steep for some, but it is easily manageable. The Loft ceiling is only 5 feet high and has little clothes storage, but has a great view, is fully private, and perfect for sleeping and sitting. Besides, who comes to New York City to hang around inside ;)
We have an amazing location close to the subway, Times Square, Lincoln Center, Hudson River, and Central Park. You can get to all the best NYC attractions in less than 15 minutes. There are tons of great bars, restaurants, and markets within a block or two.
  • Kevin's loft is in a great location on the Upper West Side -- right by a major subway stations, near a Trader Joe's, a short walk to Central Park. Kevin was a solicitous host who checked in on me once during the weekend. I'm sure if I'd needed more help with my stay or figuring out NYC he'd have been there for me. The apartment was fairly clean and very quiet in terms of street noise or noise from the hallways. However, a lot of the cleanliness/noise level is probably going to depend on whoever is occupying the other room in the flat (the ground floor bedroom). The women I had for (Hidden by Airbnb) were pretty clean and quiet, but they were also getting up earlier than I was, so I wasn't able to sleep in much. ;-) The loft itself, as others have mentioned, is adequate but it is small. The staircase up to it is tricky going up and trickier coming down -- you basically have to go down sideways. Getting luggage up and down can be difficult. You also can't stand up straight in the loft, so packing and dressing are somewhat impeded. So to sum up, I'd say the loft is a great choice for younger, nimbler people who travel light and who want an affordable option in a super location.

  • Kevin was an excellent host! The apartment is in a great location (upper west side, 1 block from metro lines 1, 2, 3 -> all you need to visit Manhattan). The room was cozy and clean, the rest of the house nice and confortable. Our staying was very pleasant.

  • I love Douglas !!!

    Helena2013-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, Douglas!!! You're an amazing host that allows us leaving our luggage before check-in and after check-out. My dad,my brother and me were happy staying with you. It's a very good experience with Douglas.

    Joyce2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Douglas was very cool. Even when he was not at home due to his job, he did everything he could to help me in my trip to New York. He gave me advice on what to do and how to use public transportation. I never had a problem in the neighborhood, and they are plenty of food stores one or two blocks away. Definitely recommend staying with Douglas.

    Angel2015-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very good experience. No problem with communication, public traffic, close vicinity.

    Štefan2014-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Simple and good. I really recommend it!

    Bruno2014-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Douglas was a splendid host who went out of his way to make my stay as comfortable as possible, giving me full access to his kitchen and even providing me with breakfast! The room offered more space than I had imagined possible in New York City. His place is very close to the subway station and the D train is very efficient - I could get to Times Square in half an hour. The nearest subway station doesn't have lifts though, so if you're traveling with a lot of heavy luggage, you might want to get off the subway at 161 Street and Uber over to make your life easier, it should cost less than $10. The neighbourhood was quiet at night but well lit and I had no concerns with safety as a solo female traveler. Overall, I would definitely want to return to Douglas's place some day and visit NYC again :)

    Xinzhuo2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay! Great host. Love the privacy. Thanks.

    D'Anthony2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Douglas was really nice and looked after us well. The room was huge very clean and had good air con. Just be wary that the Bronx can be a little dodgy at night so dont plan on coming home too late. Just be alert and the apartment is a 1 min walk down the main road from the subway so its all fine. For the money you save staying out of manhatten this room is well worth it.

Brownstone living in renovated North Williamsburg Brooklyn. Here you have a sun splashed with terrace apartment. Create a gourmet dinner, ride a bike, relax on the terrace. Seek-long term rental plus 30 days. If you are a creative person ask of a discount and or donate art here. Many artists lived here and I like to keep that vibe alive. 5 minute walk from Bedford L Subway station, less than 15 min to Union Square. Maid service can help with laundry, please just ask.
Its like walking in sunshine! Large over sized windows, over sized skylight and a sundeck too. This is the smallest bedroom in the apartment. There is a skylight but no window. It is a legal bedroom by NYC dept. of Buildings. It is smallish but very comfortable. I know because I have lived here and other guests like it too.
Here you will find the new culture. Restaurants, Art galleries, cafe's and great people from everywhere who believe in changing the world.
  • ウィリアムズバーグの中心地でマンハッタンにも出やすいいい場所です。 ルームシェアであることが若干わかりづらい表記になっている気がします。が音もそんなに気にならずよい環境です!とにかく自然光があかるい。

    Yuuka2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Charles was super great with communication and directions for how to navigate around the space. The place is right in the middle of Williamsburg and a great place to be. The room is quaint and cozy, there is a clothes rack and the ceiling can open up to fresh air! The room can get pretty warm but there is a ceiling fan and also a desk fan which came in handy. I only stayed for one night but I noticed there was a projector system and tons of movies in the living room. The outdoor terrasse is super nice as well. No problems with the space, though when I went into the building there were two huge Amazon shipping boxes blocking the stairwell. They probably won't be there forever, but if that is the case, it could be a nuisance to go around with luggage. Definitely would recommend!

    Kevin2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Charles was a wonderful host! The apartment was very charming and wonderfully decorated. If you're looking for a hassle-free, stylish and comfortable place to stay while in Brooklyn, you'll be very pleased with his place!

    Airton2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Check in was super easy using the lockbox. The apartment is in an great location. The room with the skylight is very small but had what I needed, perfect for my stay as I planned to stay out and about as much as possible. This was a great value for my trip.

    Ryan2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the place. Stylish pad and in an excellent location for just hanging in Williamsburg or Brooklyn with easy access to Manhattan. Bingo!

    Barry2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • 155 Wythe St is in a great neighbourhood with easy access to Manhattan via ferry or subway; the apartment is lovely; and Charles is a friendly host. Guests should be aware though that Charles lives in Paris, and the apartment is also occupied by two other guests, who have the two larger rooms; the room I had was comfortable but smaller than I expected, and there was no one 'on the ground' as it were to act as a host; in fact there was no one home to let me in the night I arrived, as communications between Charles and my (Hidden by Airbnb) had evidently not been clear. There was also building work taking place on the roof directly over my head, which I was not prepared for. That said, I had a good stay, and the apartment and location are lovely.

    Humphrey2015-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and I was blown away by the great value of this place, roommates were friendly, lots of great food choices around the neighborhood and the subway was easily accessible. The apartment was cozy, the back deck was great and the vinyl selection was awesome. Only bad things I could say is that the sound system was iffy for the television and the projector needs some adjusting as the screen was always a little blurry no matter how you focused the projector. I would definitely come back given the opportunity!

    Ryan2016-06-07T00:00:00Z

Your own studio apartment, full size bed, full private bathroom, closet, high ceiling, tall windows, sunny, NO kitchen but there is a refrigerator, keurig coffee maker, microwave, HD TV, cable, J, Z & M trains nearby, 15 minutes to lower Manhattan. Please note that I also have another listing, same building, 3rd floor, please click on my profile to look at it. It is the same set up but larger. Also you can try this link https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15222861?s=51 Thank you :)
Have your own key to get into the building and apartment whenever you like. There are three steps from the sidewalk. There is usually parking on the block, I never have problems parking. Note, there is street cleaning on Monday and Thursdays from 8-9:30 AM, so you must move your car or you will get a ticket/citation.
Bushwich is part of Brooklyn, South West of Williamsburg. The neighborhood is up and coming, new restaurants are opening up every month, art galleries, shops, etc. There is a laundry mat around the block and supermarkets within blocks. Planet fitness is one stop away by train.

  • Walter was very kind. He checked in to make sure things were fine. He gave a tour and showed how things worked. It was a comfortable stay.

    Shakima2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed 4 nights at Walter private room. Room is as shown in the picture and even better. It has a private entrance, feels like a private hotel! :) Clean and very close to metro in a neighbourhood that has been gentrified in the last couple of years. Walter 's hospilitaly was excellent and beyond my expectation. I have never had with any other Airbnb 's host. He waited for my arrival, with patience explaind all the apps and info for the city. (For the first time I got to know how to use NYC Subway system without trouble! - Thanks to Walter!) Checked with me couple times if everything was oK and gave a nice goodie bag which was the final touch to his wonderful kindness.

    Sayeh2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Walter was courteous, helpful, and willing to help out with any questions. The room was private, very close to the subway for getting around the city. It was comfortable and had lovely personal touches like coffee/tea, lots of towels etc...

  • We had such a great time staying here - it really gave us they chance to experience New York properly instead of staying in a hotel! It’s in a good location within close reach to central park and many museums. Paul was very helpful with recommendations too. Thanks!

    Yuhang2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment it’s in a great location, the bathroom fails in the shower for a constant leaking and it’s not so clean to tell the truth.

    Jose2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This spot very accessible in terms of getting around the city. You’re super close trains, restaurants, and Central Park. The room was comfortable and the multiple other guests were all respectful too.

    Kayla2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • After booking, we got an email that started out, "The address to the apartment is...which is different from the address given in the listing." That set the tone for our stay. Checkin instructions were pages long because the host isn't supposed to be hosting. Basically, you'll have to pickup a key several blocks away, then sneak into your room without any neighbors noticing. The price is a bargain, but next time I'll stay with an on-site host.

    Daniel And Jamie2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy check in and out, fast communication. Very well made pictures that don't reflect reality, but it was still OK. Not very clean. But we had no problems in general. Would recommend this area to people who stay in New York for a longer period of time or if you are there mainly for central Park, as tourists we had to spend a lot of time in the subway because all the attractions are far, except for central park. Nice neighborhood.

    Elisa2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • “The apartment was great! The location is fantastic, right by the train a great deal for the price. The place was clean and stylish, and check-in and out was very easy. I will be coming back to stay again and would recommend it to anyone visiting New York!”
