  • Lance was kind, accommodating and most importantly responsive. He was always available when I messaged him through Airbnb. He also gave us his phone number to text him in case we needed anything. When we got there, he gave us a tour of the house and welcomed us to wine and water. The house is mid-century modern style and has some pretty cool pieces if you are into interior design. The room itself had the most amazing view, as you can tell from the pictures. However, it was definitely a delightful surprise when I woke up in the morning at 7 am, I saw a breathtaking sunrise. The room is perfect for 2 people. We had our own bathroom and towels were provided. You will need a car if you want to stay here as the house is up some winding roads. For a quaint relaxing weekend, I would recommend the tree house! Plus, how many times will you get to say that you stayed in a tree house in Portland.

    Delia2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The view was amazing and the entire house is beautiful. It's my best airbnb experience so far. If you sleep with the windows open you'll wake up to the sunrise. If you're staying for a couple days and need some entertainment other than the view you might want to bring a laptop or a tablet. Driving to downtown is a short trip and pretty easy. Lance was very nice and inviting. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Lanced welcomed us in and the check-in was very easy whether he would have been there or not. Spectacular views and very, very clean!! Loved the tips on where to hike to watch the sunset. Enjoyed finding out about the history of his home. Fun time!!

    Roberta2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lance and Bukowski are fantastic hosts. His house is amazing and the amenities are clean and comfortable. Lance was incredibly friendly, offering tips, suggestions, or a pot of coffee in the morning. This was our first time staying with a host and Lance made it easy and relaxing!

    Andrew2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing and unique home! Quiet with a secluded feel while still providing easy access to downtown Portland. Breathtaking views that kept changing with the weather. The bedroom was cozy and private, with a great deck (as long as you're not scared of heights). Bukowski might be the coolest cat we've ever met. Even cooler than Bukowski, though, was Lance. Lance was the perfect host - very welcoming, warm and relaxed but not intrusive in any way. We already decided this would be our #1 pick to return to on our next Portland excursion.

    Adrian2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house truly is an architectural marvel, it is great to see the history of such a marvel with your own eyes, and if you want to learn more about the history Lance the owner is a great guy that is very willing to give a fun history lesson about it. The views of portland probably can't be beat and that is what makes it so awesome!

    Keith2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was a very welcoming host! The house and its views were even better than the photos. This is truly a unique Airbnb find and an awesome way to experience Portland. I would highly recommend lance and his house!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • This cottage was adorable. Super clean and cute. The bathroom was extremely clean as well. Both very much appreciated! The neighborhood is nice and central and so quiet to sleep at night. Overall a very lovely & sweet place to stay :)

  • Loved the cob cottage, homey feel, absolutely perfect for a quick Portland getaway. 10/10, helpful and friendly and wonderful hosts. Jack gave excellent tips for where to go in the area for food/drinks/coffee, very generous with their ammeneties. Much love ❤

  • Wonderful little cottage in an immaculately decorated yard. Small space, but wonderfully decorated.

    Justin2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool space and the hosts are incredibly kind and accommodating. Walkable to nice neighborhood commercial area and an easy drive into the city.

    Max2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris were friendly and accessible via text before and during our stay in Portland. Checking in was a breeze, and it was wonderful to have our own private space in the midst of a busy family visit to Oregon. The neighborhood is quiet, welcoming, and cat-friendly--which was an added bonus to a couple of pet-deprived travelers!

    Lindsay2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing and cozy little cottage only blocks from hot spots on SE Division. Jack and Cris were very welcoming and had excellent coffee from one of their stores waiting for us. I would absolutely recommend this place and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The bed was very comfy! Bathroom is in the main house, but it is private for air bnb guests and is well equipped. They have two cool cats that hang out in the backyard near that large pond.

    Matt2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this unique cottage. Jack and Cris were very friendly and the other guests made us feel right at home. I would stay here again. Be sure to bring your own toiletries.

    Alicia2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely! So much fun to stay in such a unique space -- a perfect Portland experience. Our visit coincided with an unusual 6 inches of snow; the heated floors + space heater kept us comfortable in the cottage, despite the unusually frigid temps outside!

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!

  • This was our first trip to Portland and Andrée's home was true to the description--a perfectly cozy cabin to relax and to check out the sights and sounds of the city. She was an extremely welcoming and gracious host who gave us insider local info on restaurants and neighborhoods. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit.

    Melissa2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrees place was amazing ! Cute and clean and exactly like the pictures. Everything was labelled and clearly set out and check in was a breeze. She was a great host and would stay here again and again.

    Hope2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed in Andree's cabin for two nights. She was super friendly and welcoming. The cabin was comfortable and relaxing. Short walk to a small local market with a kitchen and beer, lots of fresh food. Only a short drive to downtown Portland. All in all it was a nice place to stay.

    Talon2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée's garden studio is simply awesome. A little piece of home that has been crafted with care, and a whole lot of creativity! It has proved to be incredibly inspiring in so far as I stayed there a week, on a writing retreat. Andrée herself is a very easygoing, open-minded and pleasant person to be around. Makes you feel at home in a mintute. I had barely just arrived, she was already writing me down a list of nice spots to eat and drink in the neighborhood. And it turns out she was of great advice! I actually endend up enjoying Woodlawn and Alberta Avenue more than Downtown. Thumbs up for Northeast Portland! For anyone who enjoys alternative lifestyles, underground culture and a hint of peacefulness, this is definitely the place to stay at! Though I have to warn you, you might want to move there forever.

    Sophie2014-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was an amazing host!! She was so inviting and gave us so many great suggestions of things to do while we were there. Her house was adorable and such a wonderful place to stay the night. She has incredible hospitality and an amazing home, you should definitely stay here if you're looking for a fun Portland experience.

    Taylor2014-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a great host! She was very flexible with our arrival time and gave us great recommendations on what to do/see and what to avoid. The room was very cozy and had all that we needed for our weekend stay. The only downside was that the shared shower hours were from 9AM-9PM and we are early risers so it made some of our morning planning difficult, but if you aren't an early riser I don't see any down sides. All in all it was a great place with a very nice and helpful host, would recommend to anyone making a trip to Portland!

    Shelby2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sad I was only there for two nights -- the loft was such a relaxing retreat. Andrée was very welcoming and friendly. The location was such that I could easily bike everywhere I wanted to go. Overall great experience.

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • Jason and Hannah were super easy to communicate with and check-in was super easy. The space was cute, clean, and comfortable. The one thing I would note is that the building is older (though its’s well kept) and it is not at all soundproof. To be blunt, I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic weekend away with a significant other.

    Katie2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We felt right at home in this space. It was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Loved the neighborhood and all of its old trees and charm.

    Katie2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great studio in a good location in NE Portland. The private side entrance is very convenient, and the space heater came in handy during the unseasonably cold weekend!

    Patrick2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • great location and good place to stay in the area. beautiful neighborhood and nice people all around.

    Mackey2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a great place to stay! Jason has created a lovely space and was welcoming, kind and helpful. Exploring this charming neighborhood was an added bonus to the trip. I highly recommend staying here.

    Suzanne2014-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time When I arrived the first thing I noticed was how clean the studio was. I had a couple guests come visit and Jason was really nice about it. I met him and he was very generous. I definitely would recommend staying here.

    Nik2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved (Email hidden by Airbnb) munication was easy, and if we had questions we got a response almost immediately. Would definitely stay here again!

    Tammy2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Portland at Jason's apartment was excellent! He was very accommodating, the apartment was very comfortable and in a great location, and the suggested restaurants list on his welcome note was very much appreciated. But the best part for us was that the apartment is pet friendly which meant that we could have our cat with us (we were in the process of moving to a new state) - not an easy characteristic to find in Airbnb listings. Overall it was a great experience!

Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • What a wonderful and practical apartment. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it had everything we needed, from the immaculate bathroom, comprehensive kitchen, a well-functioning washer and dryer and comfortable and cozy bed. The gardens were straight out of a magazine -- so romantic and smelled amazing. And to top it off, Bob and Sue were so warm and hospitable -- we would recommend this spot to anyone!

    Maria2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob were wonderful hosts for our time in Portland -- they were friendly and accommodating from start to finish, from Bob lending a hand with our bags to Sue helping us find a lunch spot as we were leaving town. Their home is beautiful, inside and out, and it's in a nice quiet neighborhood. Wish we'd spent some time in the garden (alas, it was 100 degrees) -- hopefully there will be another visit.

    Jamie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were a bit disappointed, since the hosts were out of town and couldn't meet them. We had been informed prior to our arrival that there would be a house sitter. Karen was there on our arrival and was delightful. In fact, we spent our last evening visiting in the garden with a bottle of wine.

    jennifer2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, this home was like a fairytale! So gorgeous! We were down in Portland for business and had to find a place last minute. What a wonderful deal! I just wish we didn't have to work so much so that I could have spent more time at the cottage. Everything was so clean and comfortable with all the amenities at your fingertips. This is way better than staying at a Hotel. This was my first AirBnb experience and i'm very pleased. :) Thank you so much!

    Elisabeth2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is just as advertised: it's adorably decorated with lots of detail, clean, and includes everything you might need. The bed was very comfy. It is a basement apartment, so it's below ground level and has only a few small windows. We couldn't get cell reception in the apartment, but the wifi was fast, and we just used the gorgeous patio for phone calls. The location is great - beautiful, quiet neighborhood, an easy walk to the Hollywood Max station (and Bob even offered us a ride) and to the gorgeous Laurelhurst park; about a 30 minute walk to the Hawthorne district. Bob and Sue were wonderful hosts, and we'd love to stay here again.

    Kathy2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfortable. Sue and Bob were perfect hosts and had recommended a few places for us to watch the Football game when we arrived so we didnt miss too much time. There are a couple of friendly beer hangouts about a half mile a way. The location was central for our Portland adventures.

    Chris2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob’s beautiful brick home in Laurelhurst is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Portland. Their garden is lovely, the accommodations comfortable, and they are super friendly and helpful/informative. Many great little restaurants in and around Laurelhurst and a 3 minute walk to the bus stop to catch the #19 bus for a 25 minute drive into downtown Portland. We rented bikes there one day and took a great 14 mile loop ride along the river.

    Peter2018-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cottage made us feel so at home. We loved drinking wine in the gorgeous backyard garden. We loved having our own little kitchen and washer and dryer! The bed was very comfortable also. Sue and Bob are fantastic people. We enjoyed their company the few time we were able to chat. The Laurelhurst area is quiet and has easy access to every place we wanted to visit. Some of our favorite restaurants were Teote, Lardo East, Ecliptic Brewery, Jam on Hawthorne, Trinket, Tamale Boy, Migration and Batter Griddle and Drinkery. The Laurelhurst park is so close to Bob & Sue's - very worth it. We also loved visiting The Grotto, which has breathtaking views! This cottage apartment is near all the shopping! It's centered between the artsy northern Alberta & Mississippi districts and the cool southern districts of Hawthorne & Belmont. Sue gave us great tips about Cannon Beach. We were so glad she told us to visit Hug Point! We loved this trip! We absolutely adored this cottage! Bob & Sue are the best! We cannot wait to go back next year!

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • This Airbnb was just perfect for a 3 day get away for my husband and I! It is brand new, clean, fresh, and beautiful! It's spacious with high ceilings and tons of windows providing natural light. Yet it feels very private. The neighborhood is extremely quiet but close to everything. We walked to many shops and restaurants. The parking was easy for our big truck. We took Ubers to downtown a few times. The kitchen in this Airbnb is well stocked. It has a washer & dryer which was handy. The bathroom is very nice! There is no TV which I (Website hidden by Airbnb) was so quiet and refreshing to return to this guesthouse after exploring the city. We highly recommend this place and we'd surely return when we visit PDX again!

  • If your looking for a great place to stay in Portland then look no further. Laurel and Brian’s guesthouse is clean, modern, and has all the comforts of home. We had a wonderful time during our stay. Location was close to excellent restaurants and a great trendy coffee shop. Laurel and Brian communicated with us a lot and made us feel welcome in their guest house. Would stay here again without any hesitation.

  • Very convenient to main avenue with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. A clean , well equipped home. Nice bedroom in a loft setting with very comfy bed!! No TV but excellent Wi-Fi Highly recommended

    Sheryl2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is really a rare find. Spotless clean and huge unit with all modern amenities. I'm in the hotel business - I always have a high expectation for a place looking great in photos - this unit did not disappoint me or beyond my expectation. It has everything one needs even for a long stay - full kitchen, brand new washer and dryer - a separate bedroom is loft is very nice, with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. It is in a very quiet neighborhood but there are a few restaurants within walking distance - fresh croissants from Petite Provence are a must. A special place making you feel right. I truly enjoy my stay. Thank you, I will be definitely back!

  • Such a great space and location! Laurel and Brian were great hosts. I’d definitely stay again if I’m back in Portland.

    Cody2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Laurel and Brian's space. We felt at home the second we arrived and did not want to leave! The four of us slept so comfortably and the location was perfect. Thank you Laurel and Brian for having us. We will defentitly be staying here next time we come to Portland!

    Mary2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel & Brian's place was great. It was very quiet and relaxing, but within walking distance to some great restaurants (including some wonderful recommendations from Brian and Laurel). The air conditioning was a huge plus for the hot summer months.

    Dan2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was literally everything we had hoped. The home in-itself was a destination to enjoy due to the design/ambience/vibe/whatever you want to call it. It rapidly welcomes you in and gets you settled down. The immediately surrounding neighborhood had so much to explore, from eats to funky bungalow architecture. The location was a perfect launching point into the greater Portland area.

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Great stay! Timothy was great, room was much bigger that we anticipated! Small fridge/freezer and microwave in room along with a beautiful sink, very nicely done! Have a full review attached to his other Pleasant 1 br in hip cool NEPO room. Would definitely go back!

    Yvonne2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Never got to meet Tim, nor was I at his place for more than just to sleep. Was able to get to his location just fine. Room was clean, and it even has a water sink inside which isn't displayed. Would definitely stay here again! Oh and the coffee shop around the corner was awesome.

    Brian2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is an awesome space with a lot of cool places within walking/biking distance.

    Deontrey2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great - clean and looked just as it does in the pictures. There were fresh towels and even some water in the mini fridge for me and my sister. The bathroom and shower were also clean and provided the amenities Tim said would be available. We wished we could have stayed in Portland a little longer so that we could have enjoyed the beautiful rooftop deck. It was a comfortable stay overall. Our only issue was that we did not receive an itinerary from Tim prior to our arrival. The entrance to the building was a little obscure, and Tim was not home when we arrived. So check-in took longer than we hoped. But once we were settled, everything went well.

    Pam2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was a wonderful host and the room was gorgeous. We were visiting during a heatwave and the room was a cool haven away from the hot sun. Timothy provided extra directions and made getting to the room extremely easy. The rooftop views of Portland at sunset were a highlight of the trip. I would love to stay here again next time I'm in Portland!

    Lin2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for a night, but our experience was great! The room was just like the pictures and we had no problems with the communal bathrooms. If you want to relax, I highly suggest going to the cat cafe down the street. The drum store across the street is pretty cool too (if you're into that kind of thing).

    Rebecca2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kinda was confused as to where to go. Check in instructions were a bit unclear.. I would have never knew where the key was for the gate had I not called. The place was cute and good walking distance to many things. Bed was comfortable. Overall okay stay

    Kylee2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cute! The bed was so comfortable. My favorite part was the back deck for sure. It was adorable.

  • Scott’s place was the best place we could’ve picked. It was next to the max which saved us from renting a car, and to top it off he could not have been more helpful. Such a great person and a very very nice house. Highly recommend

    Matthew2018-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice private room and bathroom in a great home. Location is ideal for public transit, restaurants, shops and lots of street parking. Scott had recommendations that we hadn't found yet online, that added to an already awesome city.

    Tavish2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's house was very nice and secure. Very helpful answering questions and provided everything we needed. The house is close to some very good restaurants.

    Hunter2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location of Scott's place!

    Jennifer2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time! Super clean, and thoughtfully decorated. Never met Scott, but he was great communicator and made us feel right at home. Great location and price, couldn't have been a better first airbnb experience for me.

    Will2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first booking with Airbnb so I was a little nervous. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. Scott made it perfect! I live in Washington State and had flown into Portland for work. Scott was out of town when I arrived but left a key and instructions for me. He has a beautiful, well maintained home. The guest room is very nice. Scott provides a bedroom, bathroom and TV area for his guests. There was coffee, tea and delicious blueberry scones for breakfast and many other wonderful snacks that were waiting for me upon my arrival. His house is beautiful situated in the Overlook area of Portland. The neighborhood is an old neighborhood filled with gorgeous old homes. Scott provided me with some great information about the local area. I spent several hours walking around and exploring. There is park just a few blocks away that has a wonderful view of the city. Scott is a most gracious host. He discovered that I worked very close to where he works and provided me with a ride to my office. His hospitality exceeded my expectations!!! I would highly recommend booking with Scott. I would definitely stay at Scott’s home again.

    Davina2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it at Scott's place. The room is delicately decorated, and has everything you'd need for a great weekend's stay. My girlfriend tends to get cold, and the extra heater and heated blanket came to rescue! The location is also great, just a 3-minute walk to the TriMet streetcar which takes you to downtown in 15 minutes!

    Hung2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Very close to popular locations and restaurants.

This listing is a private bedroom in a shared apartment with 3 other individuals. We are considerate, quiet, & conscious of our guests space & privacy. In the heart of Portland's NW 23rd District, our place is nestled close to some of Portland's finest shops & cafes: Salt & Straw, Barista, and Fireside to name a few. The apartment has become a "destination" in itself due to the amazing natural light & Scandinavian interior design - even garnering its own hashtag on Instagram (#theaptupstairs).
"The Apartment Upstairs" is perfect for couples, urban adventurers, and creative travelers. Private bedroom outfitted with luxury Portuguese linen, plush Turkish cotton towels, waffle knit robes & slippers, & alpaca wool throws from our friends over at Parachute Home. All room decor and artwork is done by fellow Portland & Los Angeles creatives.
  • Benjamin is really nice host. also his home neighborhood is excellent to traveler. The room is same as picture in Airbnb website and the bed is really cozy to me. Actually I didn't meet Benjamin but his roommate help me. If I'll go to Portland I want to stay here agian!!

  • Great stay, highly recommended!

    Giuliana2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great experience at the Apt Upstairs. Check-in was a breeze, the space and bathroom were immaculately clean and very uniquely designed/decorated. Room temp was fine too. Location was optimal and close to the Peal brewpubs. Thanks for hosting us and we would highly recommend.

    Anthony2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment upstairs was fantastic. It is clean, well styled, and in an amazing location. Was super easy to get to shopping and great restaurants as well as trails for hiking or running. Even though the room was in a shared space, it felt very private. Ben, the host, is very accommodating and super responsive to needs. He definitely goes above and beyond. I would be more than willing to stay again. If you do stay, make sure you get his Portland top picks list! Thanks for everything, Ben!

    Brian2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, cute place, and quiet with a comfortable bed.

    Karina2016-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Apartment Upstairs is exactly as posted. It not only ticks all the right boxes (great location - I preferred the neighbourhood than staying right in the middle of downtown, clean and spacious) but with the apartment being such an incredible space and Ben being so welcoming and friendly, it really has its own X-factor in the experience. I had what was possibly my best airbnb stay. I would highly recommend the Apartment Upstairs and will definitely be back next time I'm in Portland.

    Simon2017-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Hey Benjamin! Sorry didn't write sooner, my baby girl got sick. Finally! • Ben was very welcoming and kind! We came in late Monday evening and he still gave us a tour and rundown of his lovely apartment. The minimalist simplicity of the apartment made for a beautiful aesthetic and the natural light was perfect. Despite its beauty our favorite aspect of the Apt Upstairs was actually how walkable it was to 23d! Also, Ben provided us with a list of cool things to do which was very helpful. We can't wait to get back to Portland and would love to stay here again!!

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Anna welcomed us with a quick tour and great information about the neighborhood. The design detail in this place is incredible! The artistic talent of Anna and Jeremy is evident. We were only in town for a few hours but enjoyed walking the neighborhood. It was fun to explore and see how the area is being re-imagined. We had to fly out the next morning and this is a great location close to the airport. We would like to spend more time in Portland and this property will be at the top of our list on return visit.

    Nathan2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy were great hosts. They were communicative and generous. Their place is beyond fantastic; the photos don't even do justice. I specifically love the folder of recommendations that they personally created. Really happy that we chose them in the large pool of options in Portland!

    Lauren2014-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Anna and Jeremy's stylish and well-thought out space and would recommend it to anyone visiting Portland! We use Airbnb quite a bit and this is by far the best place we have stayed in. Anna and Jeremy have covered every detail- the apartment is spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. It also had some sweet touches such as bagels in the fridge. It is close to Alberta Street- a part of town that Anna recommended and where we spent a fair amount of time enjoying the City's quirkiness and great restaurants. Anna and Jeremy were very friendly and happy to chat when we bumped into them. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if ever back in Portland!

    Kate2014-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We only had the pleasure of staying one night, but Anna and Jeremy's basement apartment was simply fantastic. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was functional, and the bathroom was exceptional. Anna greeted us upon arrival, showed us into the apartment, and had tons of great tips about the neighborhood. We would certainly look into staying here again.

    Kyle2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy were phenomenal hosts. Super flexible and helpful, made sure we got in safe. Their place is stylish and comfortable. We’ll be back!

    Alex2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts, awesome unit, and fantastic location. If you are looking for an experience not in the "touristy" part of Portland, this is an awesome selection. We absolutely loved the local food, coffee and beer within walking distance, and even just exploring the neighborhood. Anna made us feel very welcome and her recommendations were perfect! It's super easy to get downtown via bus, and equally easy to drive a car around.

    Kyle2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place was awesome! We didn't get a chance to meet the owners, but they seem pretty rad just through texting. They made it really easy for us to check-in by leaving the keys in a lockbox and giving us the code. The apartment is in the basement and is very well designed! The furniture and decore were beautiful and of good quality. The bathroom/shower was really cool too, but I realized that only really close friends or couples would feel comfortable staying here together since the bathroom has no door, haha. Everything was really clean and spotless. And my favorite little added touch were the packets of herbal tea they provided. It's the small details that matter too! Loved our stay here and would for sure return whenever we make it back to Portland!

    Cassandra2016-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend Anna and Jeremy's place. The space is extremely comfortable, and it is within walking distance to a lot of great shops and restaurants. Also, Anna and Jeremy were extremely accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed and more. They worked around our flight schedule and let us drop off bags early so we wouldn't have to worry about them and could enjoy our time in Portland. We highly recommend this beautiful place!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • They said Hello and told me this was my area, ( pointing to a Living room). Also said the bathroom and bedroom were on the same level. They were about to eat dinner when I arrived, so not much interaction.

    Susan2015-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful spot!! This is an awesome location with a unique vibe. We felt truly at home. The teepee is romantic and we managed to stay dry and warm in spite of a night of heavy rain. Chris was great; sadly we only met Karen briefly but all in all it was a great experience!

    Jacob2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We never crossed paths with the hosts, but the kitten made us feel more than welcome. All-in-all, a great first airbnb experience.

    Barry2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were awesome hosts! Their place was super cool and very clean. I didn't get to spend much time talking to them, but Brad gave me great suggestions on where to eat in the area. Thanks for the awesome experience guys!

    Varun2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca greeted us when we arrived and they both were so warm and welcoming. Our room was really nice (with a comfy bed) equipped with all the amenities you would need. They had an awesome fan that helped as a noise machine as well which I already miss! They rent 2 bikes to their guests which helped greatly and was a good experience in Portland to have rode into the city. Diego and Carlos, their cat and dog, we're playful and friendly. I loved everything about this Airbnb. Thank you guys for such a good experience.

    Tori2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Although we arrived at night and had a brief exchange with Brad, he was nothing but nice and let us know what's nearby and fun to do in the area. Parking was not hard to find at all, as it was expected being in Portland. The location was great, it wasn't hard to find or get around.

    Cristellin2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Arriving was easy with the combo key, the room was cozy, the entire home was beautiful, and communication with Brad & Becca was great. We appreciated the little extras like chocolates on the bedside tables and umbrellas left for our use if needed. Thanks for a great first Airbnb experience, B&B! Sending hugs to sweet Biscuit (the snuggliest cat ever) and your new pup!

    Lara2014-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were only in Portland for one night but Brad and Becca's beautiful house provided the perfect home base! Easy to get around by bus from here, easy street parking, pleasant neighborhood, LOVELY accommodations. And although we never ran into Becca since we were out and about and only there one night - Brad, thanks for your friendliness and welcoming attitude! We had a great time in Portland!

The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Not to mention the location was awesome! Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone! This place was great! No complaints!

  • Amazing location for the price! The place is as advertised and it’s in a prime location with many shops. Clean, tidy, and cozy for 1-2 people. Def will stay again!

  • 100% recommended - this place was amazing, we had the best experience ever, the home is so lovely the host is very helpful with everything and prepared everything for us, the location is near Barista coffee roaster , blue star donuts and Salt &straw! Had nothing to complain about :)

  • Lovely place in lovely area

    Hywel2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great and perfect! Location was more than perfect! Very nice restaurants are just on the corner and the area is extremely safe, clean, and tranquil. For the price, you are definitely getting more!! The unit was extremely clean, every little parts within the unit was very well-taken care of. Also, every products within the unit was either a fair-traded, organic, or environmental friendly. The hosts live the next door, but your privacy is guaranteed. It was so obvious that they have spent extra attention to the details of making the unit quiet and accommodating. I would definitely come back to stay at this place again!! It was by far the best place I've ever stayed through Airbnb.com.

    Nayoung2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia was an incredible host who shared many local tips with us. We ate at two restaurants per her recommendation! The apartment is located in the heart of the Alphabet District in a very safe and trendy neighborhood. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

    Elizabeth2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is THE spot to lay your head after Portlanding (or Oregoning). It is a killer of a deal. We've stayed at many airbnbs (fans) and 90% of the time we have a nice stay, but would not return for various, usually small reasons. Odd layout, doors that don't shut, cold concrete, creaky vintage etc. We would stay here again in a heartbeat (if we can plan that far ahead again to get a reservation!). From the artistic details (light fixtures, furniture & cutlery) to the buffed wood floor, to the noise-buffering curtains, to the view! (hidden gem from the bed). STAY HERE!

    Kendra2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an awesome location! Walking distance to great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and coffee shops. Also walking distance to downtown. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Portland. The space was clean and very stylish! One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in!

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D

  • We really enjoyed our stay at South Tabor Cottage. It was close to everything and parking was always a available right in front of house. Lisa's homemade breakfasts were so yummy and filling too. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to Portland! Oh, and the bed was very comfortable and cozy.

  • I recently completed a 3-night stay at Lisa's South Tabor Cottage. I'd love to leave a bad review so nobody ever books it again and I could live there forever, but I won't. In short, my stay was amazing. The confirmation email contained clear instructions about the check-in process and that really helped. The cottage is the cutest little thing I've ever seen. Clean, classy, quiet and in a great neighborhood. As a coffee addict, I was thrilled to see that there was a coffeemaker and Lisa left amazing freshly-ground coffee as well as cream and sugar in the fridge! The bathroom was great and clean, complete with a strong showerhead, fresh towels, shampoo and soap. The bedroom is really comfy. The bed just absorbs you and after I arrived I had one of the best 2 hour naps of my life and I l slept great every night. The cottage also has a wired internet connection, which is better than wifi for privacy. Lisa offers a free breakfast menu in the kitchen, but I didn't partake as I'm not really a "breakfast guy." My first morning there Lisa invited me to a tamale making class in the main house. I couldn't attend due to my schedule, but Lisa was so gracious as to save some tamales for me and they were really something! I may never forget those tamales. I had the opportunity to spend a little time in the main house with Lisa and her son, Zane and I am so happy I met them. They are great, genuinely friendly people and we had a really nice time chatting. The South Tabor cottage is so cute and charming that I felt like a Hobbit living in a beautiful little place in Hobbiton. So if you've ever wondered what's like to live in The Shire, book a stay at the South Tabor Cottage. This is the perfect place, whether you're single or a couple looking for a secluded romantic getaway. All in all - a great stay at a great cottage with great hosts! I truly hope to return one day...

  • My stay at South Tabor cottage was grand! Lisa is amazing and flexible, as well as a great cook! The breakfast was amazing every morning and the cottage was cozy. It's close to Hawthorne which was where we spent most of our time. Walking distance from Mt. Tabor and one bus away from downtown. Absolutely wonderful stay.

    Daigneault2013-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very nice. Clean, and comfortable. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Great location with lots of resteraunts and bars within walking distance. Lisa was very nice and friendly, but not invading. I would for sure go back if we needd somewhere to stay in that part of town!

    Tysonandmelissa2013-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of light, clean and comfortable. Perfect spot in downtown to explore the city.

    Tera2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience at the South Tabor Cottage. My brother and I were traveling and we enjoyed our first stay in a tiny house. It's got everything you need. The neighborhood is great. We walked to Mount Tabor from the house and did a nice hike and watched the sunset from the top. The breakfast that Lisa provides is absolutely incredible. I recommend the Lisa Surprise!

    Dan2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fabulous! Great location and loved the privacy of having our own cottage. Lisa was excellent with any questions or needs we had throughout our stay. The complementary breakfast was such an added delight!

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • The experience was absolutely perfect, and Ivy was an outstanding host.

    Adam2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy met us at the door and was very kind and accommodating. She went above and beyond what is expected of a host and even offered to help us get the fire going. The Mud Hut is a wonderful place, which allows you to feel both cozy and isolated; it feels verrry vacationy. There's also a beautiful view of the bridge and Cathedral Park is only a short distance away, as is town with restaurants and a movie theater and all the stuff you could want. Thanks Ivy!

    Robert2016-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! The mud hut is a really cozy place to stay, and has everything you need (especially when it's a little chilly outside). Ivy was incredibly accommodating, and is willing to work with you to make your stay more personal. Plus, they make great home brews! Even though I live in Portland, I may just come back once and a while just to relax and drink ginger beer. Thanks again!

    Rob2015-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was fantastic and the mud hut was a hovel to remember. Spent the evening gazing at the St. John's bridge set against the night sky in a hot tub whaaaat? ∞/∞ stars would stay again any time.

    James2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy made us feel welcomed the second we arrived. She had water, candles, juices and other necessities to make us feel comfortable. Her husband C is great as well. You really feel away from everything being in the back yard and the mud hut... its perfect. I can't really say enough good things. About a 20 dollar uber drive into portland. The area is really nice and peaceful. It was a great stay!

    Jason2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in This beautiful cob hut was such a magical experience. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Maxwell2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really exactly as described. It was different from anything you will find in other states but that's what makes Oregon Oregon. We didn't get to meet Ivy because they were out of town. The hot tub was awesome. The garden is awesome. If you insist on having A/C, this is not the place for you but it's not advertised as having A/C. It's not close to the MAX. We picked it because we were going to Seaside and would be out of Portland traffic when we left to go. It was a very memorable experience. It felt like upscale camping.

    Laura2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy's place was awesome. Very cool, unique place to spend the evening. Ivy has great stories and a fantastic yard to take in the view and spirit of Portland living.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • I had such a lovely stay here! It was exactly as described - cozy, full of character and completely charming. Michael made a point to check in on me and make sure everything was going smoothly. And it's also just a short walk to countless places to get a drink or enjoy a meal. (I did not have a car and it was not an issue.) I stayed for a week and even though I was working during this time, Michael and Jenny's little house helped me to feel like I was on a partial retreat. I would easily stay here again.

    Ashley2013-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute house in a great location. Plenty of eats and drinks within walking distance.

    Jerry2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at the Rustic Modern Tiny House and I can't wait for the third! Once again, Michael and Jenna were A+ hosts who communicate in a timely, thorough, and efficient manner. The space was well stocked with toiletries, kitchen supplies, and extra bedding if needed. Despite the small size, the space is more than adequate. I truly felt as though I was living at home during my 4 nights at the tiny house. Thank you again!

    Cody2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is so awesome! It was actually way more spacious than we thought it was going to be and had everything we needed. Fridge and kitchen were great to be able to have some meals in and the neighborhood has great little shops and restaurants. There's a little private front patio with chairs and a table perfect for mild nights. The street was incredibly quiet and there was plenty of parking. Michael and Jenna were very responsive with all of my silly questions being a first time Airbnb-er. 10/10 want to lock myself in and never leave (don't worry I did leave though, so you can rent it now).

    Maeve2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • I would absolutely recommend this tiny home! My husband and I came to Portland for a much needed vacation. The neighborhood and city are great, but we primarily wanted a place we could hang out and watch a movie and avoid work stresses. This is the perfect place. It was quiet, comfortable, had all the amenities of a hotel, but felt like home. I would absolutely recommend!

    Lindsay2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had such a great time staying in this awesome little spot! It was private, tidy and unique. Michael and Jenna were wonderful hosts, very quick to respond and made us feel right at home.

    Ryan2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the tiny house for a quick Portland trip over Christmas. Adorable, perfect size for two and central to everything we needed. Would be great in summer, I bet! Thanks for creating such a comfortable space that also feels quite special.

    Katie2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We finished our winter holidays in Portland to visit a friend. The tiny house looks exactly like in the pictures. It was very cosy and clean. It is near to a shopping strip with some great restaurants and cocktail bar. Michael and Jenny sent us a message via airbnb to welcome us and also to offer any additional info. It is nice to receive these extra welcome messages and it shows how Michael and Jenny are great hosts. Would definitely come back again. Thanks !

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The tiny house was very comfortable and well located. I was able to walk to a nice grocery store and the Alberta Arts District where there were plenty of eateries and shops. Both were about a half mile out. I was allotted a lot of privacy and met the hosts once. They were nice people and very accommodating when I asked for an early check in. My toddler's nap time was earlier than the check in time. They also were very responsive when I experienced some connectivity issues with the wifi.

    Kim2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you're visiting Portland, this tiny house should be your first stop! It's a wonderful "home away from home", with all the necessary amenities and beautifully decorated. It's comfortable, relaxing, and an easy walk to amazing coffee shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is truly wonderful! To top it all off, the chickens in the coop are the perfect neighbors - we loved saying "hello" to them each morning. Don't miss out on this tiny gem!

    Christian2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is a welcoming and cozy base for exploring Portland. The size of the space was perfect for my girlfriend and I and it had everything we needed to cook, relax, and sleep. Check-in was easy and the back entrance was a plus. Everything was very clean and the house felt very private even though it's located in the backyard of the main house. The kitchen and bathroom had everything you'd need and the bed was super comfortable! The house is located in a great Portland neighborhood and is within walking distance to great coffee, dining, markets, and transportation. Duston and Genevieve seem like great people and are easy to get a hold of if you need anything. We'll certainly recommend this tiny house to friends and family!

    Freeman2015-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very accurate to the listing description. The tiny house was great.

    beck2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is even cuter in person. Central location with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Downtown is only a 10 minute drive. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Hope to return again soon!

    Nicole2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • My goodness, where do i begin. I can't accurately put into words how lovely my stay was but i'll try. The space fit me perfectly! From the cute chicken coop to the beautiful vintage decor to the handmade pieces in the space. Not to mention, the natural light that floods the space during the day made the whole house look heavenly! I mentioned my daily tea drinking to duston & genevieve and they provided me with a large jar of assorted teas - how lovely is that! So kind! Their hospitality was a 10 out of 10. The bed was so incredibly comfortable, i mean REALLY comfortable! I also loved being able to connect my playlists to the speakers provided. My music just set the mood so well! The space/decor is so incredibly unique and inspiring! I can't stress that enough. Everything was kept very clean and 100% accurate to the photos. But being in the actual space was even better than the photos! It was easy to make any meals i desired. They provided a hot plate, pots, a tea kettle, a french press, silverware, beautiful ceramic mugs, etc. The kitchenette is fully stocked! They also provided all natural products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) and small toiletries as well! So nice! The neighborhood is EXTREMELY walkable which was huge for me! I took strolls around the neighborhood every day and just a 2 minute walk up the alley takes you to the yummiest restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, vintage shops, yoga studio and more. Cup and Saucer was my favorite for breakfast! So good! A few more minutes of walking takes you to a grocery store and also the lively alberta street where there is an endless array of shops! Anything your heart desires will be a 10 minute walk or less from the tiny house! The location is so perfect! Duston and Genevieve were so incredibly kind and quick to respond to any questions I had! This tiny house became my sweet, safe haven. It made my stay in portland even better than i imagined. My stay here even inspired me to remodel my own space at home! I'm getting fun ideas together now! I won't hesitate to book this place again for my next visit! Book this place immediately, you won't be disappointed! Duston and Genevieve have created something so wonderful with this tiny house! Everything about my stay was magical and i can't say thank you enough to my lovely hosts!

    Emiah2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place for our short vacation to Portland. Great location, with privacy and just enough space. Genevieve and Duston were very hospitable and responded quickly to any questions we had. I would highly recommend it!

    Kelly2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Duston and Genevieve's tiny house! It's cute and cosy - a wonderful retreat from the crazy week of travelling. Feeling so inspired and well rested after staying there - wished we could of stayed longer! They are really responsive. We found their suggestions of things to do in the area super helpful. Thank youuu!

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. • The Magic Barn was exactly as described and located in a fun neighborhood. Parking wasn't an issue at all. I did not met the hosts in person but they were very responsive and helpful via text. I was very comfortable at the "barn" and I got a great night's sleep as well.

    Stephne2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, magical and unique as reported! The area is ripe with things to do and bring surrounded by artwork is special!

  • Such a cute little place in a great location!

    Katie2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking to explore the Hawthorne area this is perfect. We were able to walk everywhere. Tons of restaurants and shops.

  • This little cottage was lovely! We stayed here our last day in Portland, so we weren't there much longer than dropping off our bags and sleeping, but it was very relaxing and inviting! We briefly saw the hosts, who were very friendly. The barn is even better than the pictures! I love all the plants inside. We also love the story behind the barn-that it was once a studio. Very cool, beautiful colors outside and very relaxing inside.

    Kathryn2016-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about my stay at the Magic Barn was just that, magical. The space is immaculate, cozy and meticulously maintained, inside and out. My hosts were attentive yet almost invisible. Todji and Giselle answered my every inquiry and went above and beyond to make me, and my last-minute guests, as comfortable as could be. The barn is perfectly situated to take advantage of some of Portland's most interesting neighborhoods and at the same time is nestled in a fairly quiet corner should you simply want to relax. I really can't say enough nice things about my visit. My stay in Portland was pretty close to perfect owing quite a bit to the comfort and convenience of the Barn.

  • Best nest in Portland, or just about anywhere else, for that matter. Infused with comfort & beauty & calm in every way. Our mother-daughter respite was greatly enhanced by the Magic Barn's many attributes. We join the many many guests who've surely considered just staying there forever!

NEW MURPHY BED with comfy mattress! Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern, with a great layout. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) -HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. This is one block off Mississippi Ave, with many bars, restaurants, and one of the best coffee shops (Fresh Pot) in Portland. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the little green house, as others have mentioned it was like being a celebrity - everyone who walked by wanted to know about it, and so many of our Portland friends knew exactly what we were talking about when we told them where we were staying. The kids have demanded a stay in the little pink house next summer :)

    Jennifer2013-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at the little green house for a week. It was one of the best vacations I've ever had, thanks in part to this lovely house. Everything is super convenient, new and works well and it was a bliss to plan my adventures for the day sitting at the porch after having breakfast at the Big Egg food cart, located at a pod nearby. The neighborhood is amazing: many excellent restaurants, bars and food carts (don't miss the tacos at Porque No!) that require no more than a 10 minute walk; Mississippi Studios with great small concerts every night; easy access to public transportation... I was travelling by myself and got to know lots of people in the neighborhood (super safe and calm). The house was always the starting point: "oh, you're staying at the little kermit house, how fun" :) And Rick is a great host. Replies to everything fast, I had a small issue with the lock one day and he came on his bike to solve it in 15 minutes (it happened to be the batteries, changed promptly). Stay there! I plan to go back soon 3

  • This space (The Little Green House) matched our needs, which was a quick one-night stay, mostly just to sleep, for our party of two. We slept very comfortably on the bed. It's one room, which I didn't quite understand from the pictures, and the bed is a pull-down from a standing cabinet, into the room. Unlike some AirB&Bs we've stayed at, there were no "extra touches" to personalize the stay or welcome guests - it's very minimal. However it's also a great price for a very awesome location and has all the essentials.

    Anne2016-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. convenient, clean, awesome.

    Huston2013-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rick's tiny house was fantastic. The location right off Mississippi Street is ideal. Check in was a breeze with the keypad lock. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. The house is definitely minimalist so don't expect it to be well equipped beyond the description. However the wifi worked great. The bathroom is pretty luxurious given the size of the house. The place is so popular that people knocked on the door to check it out after seeing the listing on Airbnb!

    Dave2014-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at the Little Green House! The house was in a great neighborhood and was easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. We chose not to have a rental car and couldn't have been happier! The transit system was extremely easy to use and close by. We often walked to the Yellow Max Line or took Bus 4 (bus stop is so convenient!). The house was in wonderful condition and had everything we needed! Rick is correct in that the ladder is steep! We had one small hiccup when we checked in...our door code didn't work! However, Rick was available at 11:30 pm to help with a new code. Thanks for an absolutely great time in PDX! We can't wait to visit again and stay at the Little Green House!

    Emily2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The little green house was a lovely place to stay. Sweet neighborhood, walking distance from shops, coffee, dinner, etc. The house was clean and cute, perfect for my needs. The only thing that was not perfect is that I called and emailed Rick for the code for check in but did receive it until close to 4:00PM the day of check in.

  • We stayed at Paul's for my best friends bachelorette party and it was so perfect for the occasion. The neighborhood is beautiful and centrally located and Paul was extremely accommodating and made every effort to make sure we were comfortable.

    Gillian2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Space is super cool, and feels great in the "keep it weird" Portland vibe! The upstairs bedroom kicks out over the front of the house with a little room that connects off the main room. The bathroom is also fully remodeled and was super nice for the duration of the stay!

    Johnathan2017-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely hospitable host! Paul was great @ communication and helping set us up with any needs.

    David2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is such a wonderful host! He is so welcoming and helpful. His suite is also very clean and comfy. I would stay there again if I ever go back to Portland!

  • Paul and Carolyn definitely put together their AirBnB suite very well. The location is close to all things Portland and always has extremely convenient parking right in front. I just met Paul and he was very accommodating, laid back, and eager to help if you need any suggestions or advice. As you walk in, you'll find a cozy space with everything you need and even a bunch of extras. There is a bookshelf with a large assortment of guidebooks and information to Portland if you're new to the area, the TV is well equipped with cable+HBO, a good amount of tables for work and hangout, and a very new bathroom. I definitely hope this is available the next time I visit my second home, PDX!

    Lawrence2014-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place and a great host! Exactly as pictured: fun, funky, comfortable, with all the things you need to make your stay easy. The beds were very comfy and everything new and well-appointed. Great location, too, just minutes from the Alberta Arts Districts and all its fun restaurants and bars, down the road from the Kennedy School and a great grocery store, too, with a 2-3/hr bus right in front the house. Paul was fun and welcoming, and very accommodating when we had to switch up our party at the last minute. Thanks for the great stay!

  • Roland was very welcoming, and gave me plenty of privacy. The room was spacious, well-lit and comfortable, and the bath was a real treat.

    Kevin2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Roland's loft. The location is close to fantastic eateries and shops, in a safe and friendly neighborhood. The space has a lovely balcony and had all the amenities I needed and more. Roland is a very welcoming and easy going host, I would definitely stay here again!

    Valerie2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roland’s place was great! Lots of things to do nearby, but all of Portland is very accessible.

    Ori2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Roland's cute and clean place upstairs is warm and cozy with a fabulous gas fireplace, great skylights, a comfortable bed, a private bathroom, a tiny balcony, and plenty of closet space. The beautiful wooden spiral staircase is narrow but safe. Roland is an easy-going gentleman willing to help out with local information and anything else you might need. I highly recommend this location and this host!

    Myra2018-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Check-in with Roland is as easy as can be. You can come and go as you like, and for someone like me who arrived early and left for the airport at the crack of dawn, this was a huge positive. The loft was clean, access to the balcony was nice for some fresh air, and the neighbourhood is fantastic. Quiet enough that you can get some sleep, but a 5 min walk from some amazing restaurants/cafes on Division. Thank you Roland!

    Dylan2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room is big enough. I like living upstairs. Roland is a nice host. Good experience!

  • Cute little place for a couple toenjoy

    Nisha2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ed's & Sari's Airbnb is a well designed and well constructed efficiency home - full kitchen, washer/dryer, large flat screen TV, table with two chairs, futon couch, and comfortable bed. On-street parking was always available. The neighborhood is quiet and fun to walk in. There are interesting shops and GREAT food along Hawthorne, particularly toward the Mt. Tabor area. Their place exceeded our expectations.

    Kelly2016-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sari & Ed's! The accommodations were clean and exactly what we needed for an easy and relaxing trip. Very close proximity to plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. Thanks for letting us crash, hope to stop in again sometime!

    Rebecca2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, two young children, and I had a great stay here. The place was nicely styled, fully stocked, and exactly as described. The place was warm and cozy-- a perfect way to spend the night after a long, rainy drive from Caifornia.

    Michelle2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely. Impeccably clean, light and nicely fitted out space, with all the amenities you would want. Excellent location, in a great neighborhood - quiet and leafy, easy walking distance to great shops and restaurants on division and hawthorne and a short bus ride to down town. Sari was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. It was a great place for us and we wouldrecommend it to others. The only note would be that the courtyard in front of the unit is really a shared space and noise from the adjoining main yard and pool very audible from the unit. This did not bother us, but may be worth thinking about if privacy a concern.

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • Nell's apartment was ideal!! Such a cute space right near Alberta Ave. The apartment was gorgeous and very eco friendly!

    Michaela2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nell's space was just what was needed for retreat and relaxation. My boyfriend and I had an awesome stay. Thank you so much.

    Anna2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nell was super welcoming and accommodating! The place was very nice, and exceeded expectations! The house was so close to 'Alberta St' which was super convenient! Loved the place! I would definitely stay there again!

  • Nell's studio unit was beautiful. It was a very tidy and well-decorated room. She was also a very lovely and accommodating host, being very understanding with our check-in and check-out situation.

    Bam2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, clean and bright. Would stay again without hesitation.

    Ted2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is in NE but we did not feel unsafe for one minute (of course, you might want to get back wither with a car or if you area walking, make it before dark). For the foodies, the studio is a minute walk to a really good Ethiopian restaurant . We could easily walk to Alberta and all the restaurants and shops there. When in the place, you will realize Nell has thought of everything (from coffee to maps to the umbrella you might have forgotten!).

    Tzveta2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed one night in Portland. We were able to book this space instantly because Nell was so responsive. The private cottage was quiet and clean and wonderful to look at. The bed was comfy and the wood stove was easy to operate. There was other heat source available (and had been turned on so it wasn't freezing when we arrived). The stars were visible through the skylights and the vintage radio was a perfect accent. I didn't understand the washing hands in the toilet when I first read it. When you flush the toilet the water runs on the sink spout long enough to fill the toilet tank below, simple. We felt it was the perfect place and could have stayed much longer, very cozy.

    Marissa2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful loft space. Even nicer than the pictures. Very clean and cozy. The host was very nice and friendly. Cute and quiet neighborhood. The street its on is a little narrow and could be a little harrowing if you have a large vehicle.

  • Really fantastic place to stay! Great style while still being cozy & comfortable. Very clean & tidy. I'm looking forward to returning!

  • We loved the huge space; one of the largest we have stayed in through our seven years of using Airbnb all over the world. Very good location, handy to the airport, walking distance to restaurants and breweries, not too far from CBD.

  • This place is exactly as you see it in the pictures. The space is very nice and clean. If you’re on business or just need a place for yourself it should suit you perfect, but if you’re looking for a nice retreat with your partner I would look elsewhere.

  • Melissa was very accommodating and so very kind. The space was very clean and well-styled! In a fun area easily accessible to lots of Portland’s trendy spots - great all around!

    Amanda2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as advertised. Very cozy, nicely decorated, very comfortable. Everything in the unit was of high quality. There was a problem with the toilet and despite being out of town themselves, Melissa and her husband responded immediately and made arrangements to get it working again. And while it wasn’t 100% repaired, it was functional for the rest of my stay. They generously gave a refund for one night because of the inconvenience it caused me. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

    Dan2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Melissa’s space if you’re visiting Portland! Melissa is a kind woman who knows how to communicate in a timely manner with her guests. My boyfriend and I stayed here for our first time in Portland and loved the location. Her home is located in a safe and quaint neighborhood, and there is street parking available if you have a rental car. The place looks exactly as the pictures provided. The clean, cute, and cozy vibe of the space was relaxing to arrive to after a long day of Portland activities. If you ever get a bit chilly in the place during the night, there are extra blankets and heating provided. Would check-in here again if back in the area!

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • Joseph was a great host! The place was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. It was clean and in a great location. Joseph was timely in communication and very easy to get a hold of. We certainly recommend this place for anyone traveling through Portland!

    Zoe2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at The Addition! The entire place was very spacious for the two of us, the bathroom was great and the front room was super-convenient. The location was awesome, especially. It was one of the easiest places to find so far on AirBnb. Joseph's instructions made it very simple :) Would definitely stay again if in Portland.

  • Joseph's place was amazing! It was exactly as described and what we expected. The location was great. Joseph was extremely helpful and willing to answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

  • This place is very clean, everything works great . It is very close to down town and the whole food.

  • The Annex in Portland is a lovely separate living space with a living room, bathroom and bedroom. In a dedicated patio outside the living space is a patio table and chairs, which would be wonderful in a warmer time of year — we were there in mid-December. The rooms are well appointed with useful furniture and the entire experience was very comfortable (we were there for three nights) Joseph - the owner — spoke with us a very few times and even though the annex was right next door to his home we heard no noise at all while we were there. A convenience store is about two blocks away for small purchases like milk and we were able to walk to dinner at some very nearby pubs. If you have a car the Alberta Arts District is very near by, perhaps a mile and a half and is full of fun restaurants and shops. We fell in love with the Petite Provence, a French themed restaurant with wonderful food. I recommend the Annex without reservation.

    James2017-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great experience staying at the addition. Joseph was very easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions I had. The addition was cozy and close to some great places to grab food. Also very close to public transit, only about a 10 minute subway ride to downtown.

If you're a fan of great food, craft beer, pour-over coffee, this is your place. My tiny-home is situated in the famous Buckman District - which neighbors many of Portland's top-rated restaurants and bars, vintage shops, and offers some of the best people-watching around. My place is great for solo-travelers, couples, and business travelers. It's a convenient home base within walking distance to the neighborhood hot spots, you can get an authentic taste of how the hipsters live in Stumptown.
My home is cozy and relaxed, with two sliding glass doors allowing plenty of natural light and a comfy mattresses to lay down on. Those rainy days are perfect for cuddling up and watching movies on Netflix with blazing fast WiFi for other streaming. After spending the day walking, shopping, and eating, you'll love coming home to a super comfy queen-size bed. My apartment has electric cadet heating so you can stay warm in the winter and a portable A/C to keep cool in the summer. It is perfect for business or solo-travelers. Very roomy for 1-person. PLEASE NOTE: * THERE IS NOT A FULL KITCHEN * THE SHOWER IS IN THE KITCHEN/DINING AREA
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance to a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!) Make new friends over some vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with some wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna - all within a 1.5 mile stretch. Portland isn't just for foodies. There’s vibrant indie spirit in Hawthorne, with lots of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore here in hipster heaven. Or, catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
  • Great location and a clean, comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended.

  • Dee's house was great. She made instructions very clear and straight forward for us. The house was perfect for our needs. I would recommend Dee's to anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Tyrus2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dee's tiny house was perfect for my first night in Portland - I would have stayed longer but I had friends coming into town on Tuesday. The house is extremely clean, coffee readily available, great shower, the bed is super comfortable. There is a sliding door and several screened windows to allow the cool Portland breeze throughout the house. I had an minor issue with check-in and Dee was available immediately, patient and kind in our communications. I will definitely try to stay at Dee's tiny house again during my next visit to Portland. Highly recommend!

  • The apartment was a great value and perfect for our one night stay in Portland! Much bigger in size than I expected, yet still cozy for two people. It was within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and a convenience store. The bed was super comfortable and the TV included Netflix. We plan on staying here again for our next overnight trip! :)

    Angelica2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and cozy is how I would describe Dee's place. Everything, from the great location to the comfy bed, exceeded our expectations! Would recommend Dee's place to anyone looking for a nice little place to stay while you explore the amazing city that is Portland.

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.
  • 電車でもいけますが、乗り換えがあるので、タクシーで行きました。 気さくな方で、 アートがたくさんあるお宅で、とても楽しかったです。

  • Sheilah Airbnb's bath amenities has such good taste!!!! That's why I bought tha same things.

    Mio2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah is Very warm and kind hosts! They were friendly but also respectful of my privacy. I would highly recommend.

    Mio2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was set up ready for staying in! Clean and tidy! 5-10 minute drive downtown depending on destination. Restaurants, coffee and connivence stores all just blocks away. Highly recommended!

    Hyeongmee2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I only stayed at Sheilah's place for one night on my way back to California from Canada, but I wish I could have stayed longer! She was extremely accommodating and communicative, letting me know how to let myself in independently and assuring me that it was no problem to arrive late at night. The room is more spacious than it looks in pictures, and is clean, calming, and relaxing. The house is comfortable and quiet, and the shared bathroom was spotless and easy to access (right outside the room). I had a good night's sleep and was up early the next morning to hit the road again—only got to chat with Sheilah for a few minutes, but she was very warm and welcoming! I'd definitely recommend her to fellow travelers, whether you're just passing through or spending some time getting to know the city. And as a young woman traveling alone, it meant a lot to me that I felt completely safe in her home.

    Rachel2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My stay, while short, was very enjoyable. The house is within walking distance to the MAX station which was extremely beneficial for me. The room is very clean and the bathroom is stocked with amenities. Overall, Sheilah was a great host and I would recommend this for anyone looking for a place to stay in Portland!

    Emma2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah is an amazing host. The place is amazing - so much more than I expected. And it's really close to many, many things. Would most definitely stay again.

  • This AU was perfect! By far one of my most favorite stays! It was a home away from home. Communication was great, location was great, home was great. Easy to get in and out of.

  • I absolutely loved staying at H & M's place. I was there for a work trip and had to spend one of my days working remotely. It felt like I was working from a retreat. The place was clean, simple, modern, cute. Such a treat. I will definitely try to book with them again during my next trip to Portland.

  • Heidi and Miranda’s backyard loft was a wonderful stay near the St. John’s neighborhood. Really clean and comfortable loft with nice design details throughout. Especially enjoyed flipping through the Wildwood books that they put out, the story just happen to take place in St. John’s!

    Calvin2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place. Very beautifully designed, fully stocked, not cluttered, very comfortable, and everything feels very new and modern but cozy at the same time. There are even memory foam pillows! This loft was designed for guests and they have books with recommendations for tourists. Absolutely loved it, would highly recommend.

  • We didn't get to spend a lot of time here, but it was nice to get into a clean, comfortable place after a long day. The hosts made sure we felt at home. Very nice space that is kept very tidy and a comfortable bed!

  • We had an amazing experience during our stay! The loft was exactly as pictured and felt very comfortable and private. Our hosts were very much available for anything we needed but provided us with a lot of privacy to enjoy our own time. They even assisted my partner with her surprise proposal to me in their beautiful backyard! We will most definitely come back and stay here again. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was clean, felt like home and close to everything we needed!

NEW MURPHY BED w/ comfy mattress. Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom, but no real kitchen.
  • The little pink house provided us a picturesque Portland get away. The loft bed was extremely cozy and there was just enough space for us to hang out downstairs on a rainy day. We fell in love with the Mississippi location. There is a great brewery and lots of vegan food a block away. Hopping on public transit was EXTREMELY easy. We were able to access all parts of Portland by just using a $5 day pass for Trimet. Rick was extremely responsive and helpful through the process. It was relieving getting in from the airport and being able to walk in to exactly what you were expecting. I highly precommend Rick's little pink house!

    Savannah2014-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing time at Rick's little pink house! Although I only stayed for one night, check-in and check-out was flawless. The little house was equipped with everything I needed, and was a perfect location to walk around Mississippi Ave. and pick up some Blue Star donuts in the morning. My biggest regret was not being able to stay longer. Thank you again Rick for sharing your lovely home!

    Stephen2014-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • I walked by these houses on a previous trip to PDX and was happy to see them available on airbnb. The Little Pink House of Miss. was perfect for my trip to Portland. It was within walking distance of my company's office and steps away from all the amazing things available off Mississippi street. There is a Blue Star donuts less than 3 minutes walking distance. So ya, the location is top notch. q The space itself is perfect for one or two people. Very cozy. Rick was a solid host. Relayed all the info I needed up front. Checking in and out were a breeze. Here's the facts: it is indeed a little house. With the murphy bed down you don't have much room for anything but sleeping (hence a murphy bed). The bed was mega comfy. There's a ton of natural light. Great green space surrounding the building (and on top!). Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Matt2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny pink house was tiny but perfect for what we needed. Many tasty places to eat within walking distance or a short drive. Its a shame there is no more loft space, but it was great for our short stay!

    Meghann2018-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Rick's pink apartment for a week while visiting Portland on business and I'm glad I did. The house is so cute! It's very small, best suited for one person, but it's clean, modern, and in an amazing location right off of Mississippi street. I was steps away from food trucks, bars, breweries, and restaurants, and a short bike ride away from other areas in Portland. The apartment is very functional and uses the small space well - very functional. The only complaint I have is that the sofa bed isn't super comfortable. If it were me, I'd probably scrap the sofa and put a small bed there instead. Nonetheless, I had a great experience and would highly recommend this place to any one visiting Portland. Thanks Rick!

    Maria2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time staying in the tiny house! The bed was comfortable, the furnishings exquisite. We felt very much at home. The location was perfect for our needs, situated in a fun neighborhood and close to public transit. We would definitely recommend this to others and would consider another stay!

    Lacey2015-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was really accessible and helped us with getting into the Airbnb when the passcode on the door didn't let us in :) The house is really cute and it has the basic needs--bathroom, microwave, and fridge. There are no washer dryers btw :) also, be careful of leaving food out because there are ants that want to eat delicious things like we do! the pink house was absolutely adorable, great location to Brunch places too. Thank you Rick!!

    Fedora2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time! The house was perfectly situated so that we were able to enjoy the Mississippi neighborhood but not be bothered by the noise of the bars and restaurants.

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.

The place was beautifully maintained and communicating with Jennifer was so easy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • Jennifer’s place is quite nice and well-located in the funky cool Hawthorn area. The one thing that we were challenged by was being too cold from the AC that we had little control over. We had to run a heater to make the space comfortable.

  • Great location for exploring downtown Portland! Comfortable, close to everything, and the décor was so cute (not a deal maker or breaker but definitely appreciated)! We never met Brad face to face but he responded to any questions we had almost immediately. Check in and check out were easy per his instructions and we would definitely stay here again next time. Very lovely space!

  • Amazing studio: beautiful sunlight coming in and comfortable bathroom and kitchen. Parking worked out perfectly. Moreover, an easy walk to many amazing restaurants and shops. What we liked less is that we couldn't mention Airbnb to neighbours, it made us feel a bit awkward entering and leaving with all our suitcases. Apart from that: great Airbnb, we would stay here again!

    Marjolijn2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • While our stay in Portland was short, this studio apartment was perfect. The location is great and the building itself is quite charming. It was very clean and had everything we needed (including a washer and dryer). The bed was comfortable and even though we were near some major streets we had no trouble with street noise - we even slept with the windows open. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again. Thanks Bradley!

    Lucy2012-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was great and very accommodating! The place was centrally located and clean and sweet! Highly recommended!

    nora 2014-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great for the price! It was definitely one of the more affordable options in this location. It was very convenient to some cute/interesting neighborhoods. Bathroom was clean and modern (not something you get all the time in these older buildings). As some other reviewers have noted, there is a good amount of noise from the other people in the building. The street noise wasn't an issue at all, but the walls are very thin and the person above us was awake and walking around pretty much all night. Brad was very easy to get into contact with and made check-in/check-out easy.

    Talitha2014-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved everything about our stay in Portland! The studio offered everything we were looking for! Cute, Convenient, Clean! We were happy to walk to many local restaurants, bars, and shops. Since we were in town for a convention, the close proximity to public transportation was also a plus! Already looking for an excuse to go back! Cheers!

  • Loved my stay at Brad's. It's located close to all of the best Portland gems: - Heart Coffee - Enterprise Rent-a-Car - Pok Pok - Pearl District - Powell's Bookstore Basically everything was easy to get to. The room was clean and cutely decorated. Lots of amenities, like towels, washer dryer, etc.

  • Can't say enough good things about Chuck & Annika's place. They were super friendly and lovely when we interacted but were great about leaving us space as well. The listing itself is awesome; very clean and comfortable and really nice to stay in although we spent most of our time out & about. They really pay attention to the little details and made us feel totally welcome and at home. They have a great list of information about the area, and recommendations which we felt were spot-on. The location is also perfect; a very easy walk to a ton of restaurants/shopping/etc, as well as access to a bus line that runs frequently through to downtown which makes access easy to pretty much everywhere with no need for a car. Would recommend whole-heartedly and would definitely love to stay here again.

  • This place is great! Chuck and Annika provided timely communication with clear directions and instructions for our stay. The apartment is exactly as pictured/described. This first airbnb experience was extremely positive and beyond my expectations. The apartment is in a great neighborhood with tons to do in walking distance. Between the awesome apartment, welcoming hosts, and great location, this experience will be tough to top!

  • We had such a great time in Portland! We drove to Portland on a whim and looked up places to stay as we neared the city. Chuck and Annika were so quick to respond! Their home was so clean and cozy, and they really respected privacy. They had a nice selection of books that were fun to look through, and the Netflix was a great way to wind down a night. Their shower was also wonderful- good water pressure and an amazing shower head. The area was SO FUN! Just a few blocks away from awesome restaurants, bars, and funky recycled stores. Will definitely try to stay here again if we return to Portland!

  • Chuck and Annika were quick to respond to questions we had and they were very helpful with providing tips about our visit. Their place was clean and cozy. There were 4 of us and there was just enough room for everyone. Would stay again!

  • Photos don't do this Airbnb justice. The space is very cute with modern Portland style and personality. Our host had cookies set out for us as well as a welcome sign. When we did run into a small issue, Chuck was quick to respond and the problem was fixed before we returned from our concert that evening. Location was great too, lots of breakfast and dinner places only three to five blocks away. A generous quantity of towels, blankets, and dishes were available for use. The bed was firm and comfy and the bathroom was cute. Thank you Chuck and Annika for your hospitality!

  • Very close to wonderful restaurants and bars. Very clean and good size. Had everything we could have asked for! Wonderful experience!

  • Chuck and Annika's place is wonderful! If you are looking for a quiet neighborhood that is still just a walk or short drive from fun activities, look no further. Their space is adorable with everything more than a hotel will offer. They have a way of making it feel like home by welcoming you with a sign and some chocolate chip cookies waiting for you once you walk into your space. There was TV if you wanted to lounge and books if you wanted to just relax. They even have a book that will tell you what is local and great to do. When I was downtown one of the nights my car got vandalized and graffitied so I ended up getting home late from cleaning it up and I can truly say that when I pulled up to their home I felt relief and safety. They live in a quiet cute neighborhood that makes you feel just a little bit safer from the world. Stay here if you are staying in Portland. You won't be disappointed.

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • The hosts, the "tiny house" and the neighborhood were all fantastic! The location was just in the right spot to navigate anywhere easily. The hosts were very accommodating to me and my two year old. Our room was stocked with all sorts of goodies and necessities one might need or have forgotten. The bed cozy and the coffee was great! A perfect oasis in the city.

  • I stayed at the tiny house for one night during a quick trip to Portland. The location was convenient for my needs. I had zero interaction with the hosts as I checked in late and left early so can not speak much to that. The tiny house was clean and as described. Sharing a bathroom in the main house across the yard is an interesting experience for me. The reason for my rating is that the bathroom could have been cleaner. I could understand, though, that it might be difficult to keep the bathroom clean with a toddler in the house. Overall, a positive experience.

  • If you're not coming in with "big" expectations, you'll be sure to love this tiny house! My experience was thoroughly enjoyable in this unique, cozy little abode! Much recommended stay.

  • This was a cozy and convenient one night stay for us. It's not close to the center of Portland, but it is a perfect, out of the way place to stay especially if you have a car. It was warm and a fun alternative place to stay. We had a lot of fun.

    Chris2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kate & Joel's place was cozy and accommodating. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Fun location and backyard amongst typical Portland stays.

    Matthew2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was beautiful, and everything we needed to have a restful night on a long camping road trip. The farm was cute and the room was very pretty and comfortable. Ahead of time I was a little unsure what the bathroom situation would be like, but it worked ok for us. The only real issue I could see is that for a longer stay this Tiny House might start to feel a little small.

    Sarah2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • I would like to thank Kate and Joel for letting us stay in their adorable tiny house for the night — the space was perfect for my boyfriend and I, extremely cozy and cute! This was our first experience with airbnb and it couldn’t have been better. We would love to get the chance to stay here again.
