Welcome to the oldest residential neighborhood in Rochester, NY. This historic neighborhood sits on the banks of Genesee River and is full of tree lined streets and beautiful Victorian homes. It is home to the biggest summer festival in Rochester, Corn Hill Arts Festival, which takes place July 8th and 9th in 2017.
  • A very nice place. Well kept, and clean. Close to conference venue (HI - Downtown Rochester). Everything flowed smoothly.

  • This was exactly what I needed for my stay in Rochester! Walk-able, easy parking and check-in, great amenities, and a comfortable place to come back to at the end of long days.

  • Anya’s place is wonderful, very spacious and with your own kitchen allows freedom and options while traveling. The location is central with easy access to Rochester while being in a quiet neighborhood. Anya provides many extras thinking of even small details making our stay comfortable and a wonderful experience. You won’t be disappointed staying at Anya’s place when visiting Rochester. • Anya’s place is very nice. The bed was so comfortable and she had everything you could need. We stayed one night for a wedding and it was super easy to get downtown and was a cheap uber. We highly recommend it!

    Maddy2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. Great communication. We already made plans to return next time we are in town.

    Matt2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This adorable studio was my first airbnb experience and it was a great one! I was only there for a short night and wish I had more time. The neighborhood is charming and safe and was a short Uber ride away from downtown and the concert I attended. There were so many small touches that made this feel like home, especially if you are there for a longer visit. I wish I had time to enjoy the little patio. The decor was chic and the studio was clean. Looks just like the pictures. I did not meet the hosts but Anya answered my questions and provided plenty of information. The stairs are a little narrow and tricky with suitcases but no big deal. I would definitely return.

    Jennifer2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Was our first experience with Airbnb and they made it absolutely perfect!

    Todd2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Anya's place is incredibly neat and clean, and so inviting! It had all the amenities one would need, as well as a lovely little balcony and a very comfy bed too. It is conveniently located close to the expressway that gets you to all the other parts of Rochester (but not so close as to be a noisy), and is in a cute neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful historic neighborhood with lots of trees, old houses, interesting architecture, friendly neighbors walking dogs, close to Park Ave with lots of cafes, restaurants, small stores, 7-Eleven, CVS, dry cleaner. Great for walking around and looking at architecture.
  • Mary Jane is great host - flexible, friendly and helpful but allows you the privacy you desire. Her home has a very relaxed feeling. Mary Jane lent me her old bicycle which was perfect for getting around and kindly dropped me off at the airport for my return. Rumpole, the dog is quite laid back and friendly. The location is great - just a short walk to a wide selection of restaurants, bank, CVS and convenience store. Overall a very pleasant stay and I look forward to a return visit in a few weeks.

  • We had a great stay with MJ. She was a wonderful host - prompt and caring about details - and we loved Rumpole - her very affectionate, laid-back dog :)

    Sandy2012-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is lovely and in a beautiful neighborhood. Mary Jane is very nice and helpful and her dog (and his doggie friends) are so sweet.

    Alie2013-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Jane is a fantastic host. Firstly, the house and room are all beautiful and very clean. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Mary Jane is very kind, generous, supportive, welcoming, and so much more. We communicated and coordinated very well together. The experience was easy and fluid. I stayed here during an intense yoga training, and her generosity just blew me away. Stay here. Even if you're not in Rochester, well, just come to Rochester anyway to have the experience of being here with Mary Jane.

    Joyce2013-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights at MJ´s lovely house in Rochester. We also had the honour of meeting Rumpole, the house dog, and both MJ and Rumpole made us feel very much at home in their house.

  • Mary is a great host! Although we just meet each other for few days, we really had a good time and got to know each other. She was very friendly and helped me when I had problems. My family and me were supposed to leave before 11am, but because our flight were at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and we had no where to go, she let us stayed for extra hours. Rooms were nice and clean, and it had everything we need. I highly recommend Mary's house to all travelers, and we will definitely stay there again if we visit Rochester next time:)

This is a three room suite inside an 1850's Second Empire Victorian Mansion. It has a bed, tv, wifi, cable, microwave, coffee, dishes, etc. Bathroom has a shower and a claw foot tub.
The main room is spacious. There is lots of closet space and an area to eat. The bathroom has both a standing shower and a clawfoot tub. We stayed here as an Airbnb in the past and we loved it so much... we bought the house! This unit has AC!!!
  • The house is gorgeous from the outside, check in/check out was amazing and so easy! The location is great and is close to a lot of things, such as all of the stadiums and some good restaurants. Just be aware that, as many houses in Rochester, this one in very old. There is ample space, but the floors are all slanted, the toilet has difficulty flushing and the beautiful claw-foot tub is old and could probably be refinished. Overall, we had a good stay during our 2 nights.

    Justin2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great place! Location was awesome. Connected to the city while at the same time being separated into a great little community. Feel free to play pick-up soccer with the locals.

    Jeffrey2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space in a great location! We were in town to visit our daughter at U of R and also to run the Flower City half marathon. The location was PERFECT for getting to both places. We were able to walk to the start of the race (less than a mile) through the beautiful Corn Hill neighborhood. The street was very quiet and parking was not an issue. We would definitely stay again!

  • Great, spacious pad w large bathroom!

    Landon2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, historic, wonderful old house. The large soaking tub was gravy.

    Alexander2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Good communication, easy check-in. Convenient for budget. Cons: floors super dirty and dusty. Some sort of water/liquid leak in the bedroom. Lacking supplies like toilet paper.

    Joe2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we enjoyed staying here. Proximity to downtown and UR is good. Communication and check-in worked really well. Floors were a bit dusty in the corners. Older building with some noises and quirks - could hear footsteps from the apartment above. Good large space with big bathroom. On street parking was adequate - we got the last space one night. It was nice being able to jog over to and along the river. Neighborhood seems pretty safe, but I wouldn't walk around after dark.

    Kathryn2017-10-09T00:00:00Z

Sunny, 2 level apt, in rear of house, that is a short walk to the U of R with plenty of space/parking. One bedroom with lots of characters as well as a futon in the living room in restored mansion on Mt. Hope. There is a fully equiped kitchen and 1 and 1/2 baths. It has a separate entrance, and is approximately 1,000 square feet. Set on a peaceful acre of land along the Genesee River. Enjoy Rochester from this historic mansion with tons of character and charm.
Recently refurbished with new wood floors, cabinets, countertop and paint, yet still maintaining the character of what used to be the "servants quarters". It is PERFECT if you are visiting the U of R! We live in the rest of the house and are excited to have you stay! Note: It does have a spiral staircase to the loft bedroom.. We also have another apartment listed on Airbnb, be sure to check it out! Apt #2
We moved to this amazing house in September 2014 and have been working non-stop to restore some of it's original beauty. We are bordered by the U of R property and the U of R provost lives across the street! We are close to downtown and the South Wedge has lots of great eateries and pubs as well as a new microbrewery steps down the hill. Our house is on an acre of land overlooking the river and the U of R. We are 4 houses away from beautiful Mount Hope Cemetary.
  • We had a great stay in Rochester - the loft is beautiful, and we appreciated the little extras like the kitchen stocked with K-cups and creamer for coffee in the morning (and the local beer left for us in the fridge, which we didn't actually even discover until the next morning). Also, very comfortable memory foam bed! It was a bit chilly upstairs, but the space heater provided worked great. The house is about a 10-15 minute walk to several bars and we enjoyed seeing the local neighborhood on the way.

    Sam2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the apartment. The location was fantastic and it had such charm. The bed was comfortable and the neighborhood quiet and safe. The grounds are beautiful and we had everything we needed. We'd definitely recommend this rental and we hope that you'll have time to enjoy the yard and all the good stuff within walking distance. We'll be back!

    Jennifer2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Laura were very nice and the apartment was as described and pictured. Very cute apartment, the house itself is amazing, loved having a full kitchen and even a washer and dryer upstairs. The location is great, you can walk to some nice areas and restaurants and others are a quick drive away, it's close to the college and one of the hospitals (you can even get delivery cookies from the Insomnia Cookies near campus). Highly recommended, we'd likely stay with them again if we're ever in Rochester again.

    Patty2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Highest praise for this accommodation - wonderful apartment, beautiful setting, historic neighborhood, lovely hosts. We, a family of three, could not have felt more at home - many thoughtful details, extremely comfortable, very charming. We had a busy visit to Rochester, so didn't really have a chance to meet our host until check-out - she graciously invited us into the main part of this exquisite Victorian to give us a tour. Restoring a historic home is a labor of love, and clearly much love was put into this one. Laura and Michael's caring for their home carries over to the rooms for guests. Definitely booking if we pass through again. Highly recommended!

    Suzanne2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Laura and Michael for three weeks and had a great time. We arrived really late and they had fixed beer and breakfast for the next morning, which made us feel very welcome. The house is a great old, huge house with big trees in the back yard, and from the kitchen window we could watch squirrels which the kids loved. There were also big boxes of toys, and lots of lego. Not surprisingly, the kids made us promise we have to stay at the same place if we come back to Rochester. It was a really nice home away from home.

    Helena2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • A magical, romantic attic bedroom makes the guest feel transported to another era overlooking a large yard with deer sighting. Apartment was more spacious than photos, very home like furnishings made us very comfortable. Host was around enough for questions yet left us alone to relax. Highly recommended place to stay.

    Paula2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! Cozy and well-kept. Check-in was smooth (even though I had to change the time last minute!), and parking was always available. Hosts are extremely helpful and accessible. Location is perfect for exploring the area. Will be back!

    Cheryl2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! Laura was so very kind and accommodating (and gave us great advice for dinner). We couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay! We had tons of space to ourselves, a refrigerator stocked with beer, and a Keurig... it was awesome. I highly recommend it here!

  • It was a wonderful stay. MacClurg was very sweet. She picked me up from the airport on her way back home and dropped me at the university in morning. The house is almost 100yr old. It has the charm of a vintage house.

    Neha2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was good and our host friendly and help full. As a bonus our son and daughter in law were a short walk away to visit.

    jerry2013-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was my very first time using airbnb, and I couldn't be happier with my first booking. Ms. MacClurg is delightful and kind, always there lending a helping hand to her guests. In my case, she helped me out a lot by giving me information and advice on how I can better get used to the US culture. Also one day, she drove me and my mother to a mall 10 minutes or so away even when the drive was not part of her busy schedule. The house, if I recall correctly, was built in 1920's. You will feel some degree of antiquity the moment you take a step in her house. Perhaps a drawback is that the floor tends to creak at the second level, which could wake someone up if he or she is a light sleeper. I still feel bad that I unintentionally woke her up at 4 am a couple of times. Nevertheless, if you are not an extreme early riser like me, the creaking shouldn't be a problem. It has been mentioned several times now, but I still think it deserves mentioning again: the house is extremely conveniently located, near any location worth visiting. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, so much so that I intend to get in touch with Ms. MacClurg every now and then.

    James2015-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Imagine spending 2 nights in a small and very orange house with your host in the next room and a house tour going on in the middle of everything! It could be a recipe for disaster but at MacClurg Vivian's home it was a comfortable, homey experience. Small spaces can be cozy and this is about the nicest coziest place I've stayed. MacClurg was a wonderful host, combining the right amount of friendliness and privacy. It isn't always easy to be a host in your own home and your own space, but MacClurg brought it off wonderfully. Her recommendations for a good breakfast place to take the college freshman we were visiting was spot on as well. She is highly recommended.

    Aliza2012-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • MacClurg's house was a perfect place to stay while I was in Rochester for a long weekend. The room is clean, and comfortable, MacClurg was s great host.

    Dan2013-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I was not able to stay with MacClurg due to the storm. However, she was very communicative and thoughtful throughout the process as she followed up with me after the reservation was made, just prior to the visting date and in discussing unforseen circumstances on the day of. I look forward to meeting her in person!

    Margarita2014-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks! Sorry I need to expand my vocabulary to express my appreciation for MacClurg, first meet but like an old friend to us.

    2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Vivian's cozy house was exactly what I needed. I went to Rochester for an2-day intense training and coming back to her lovely house at night, so neat and quiet, felt great.

  • Bob made me feel right at home. He gave me a ride into town and was an excellent host. I really enjoyed my brief stay in Rochester and if I do go back again I plan to stay again with Bob. Thanks for everything!

    Zec2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bob is the cool uncle that your parents dropped you off with for the weekend when they got sick of you. He is friendly and polite. He even went so far as to give me a fruit basket and my own shampoo, soap, and toothbrush kit upon my arrival. I am sorry that I only stayed one night. The only downside is that there is an odor of smoke in the common areas, although it was unnoticeable in my bedroom. Bob also let me use his washer and dryer for no extra charge. If I return to Rochester there is no question in my mind that I will be staying with Bob.

It was really nice, quiet and very convenient for me to stay at Joseph's place. The host is very friendly, nice and helpful. I'm a cyclist and my trip was intended to explore the Erie Canal Trail. Nearby fast food restaurants include Arby's, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Bruegger's, as well as, a variety of well established sit down restaurants including one of my personal favorites, Aladdin's Natural Eatery (Mediterranean, good for vegetarians). Nick's Super Store is a small grocery store, just a few blocks away. There are unique gift shops such as Archimage and Poster Art. There is a Starbucks on Monroe Ave and Boulder Coffee (live music) on Alexander Street. Check out the Daily Refresher for craft cocktails or meet some friends out at Oxford's or Park Bench Pub for a drink or two. There are many more bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife in the nearby Southwedge, East End, Park Ave and downtown areas. There is a library and YMCA close by. We are centrally located to many of Rochester's most popular festivals including the Jazz Festival, The Fringe Festival, East End, Lilac and many others.
  • What a wonderful place to stay. We went for a long weekend and loved the space so much! Ann was great checking in on how the stay was going and making sure our stay was comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

    Claudia2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ann was very attentive to some last minute questions about the place. The personal touches of oj in the refrigerator was such a nice treat and the bed was soooo comfortable. The location made access to downtown and the South Wedge so easy. This is an ideal spot, will keep in mind when visiting Rochester again.

  • We lived in Rochester for years, so knew this location would be easily walkable to all the neighborhoods we wanted - Downtown, East End, Park-Monroe, South Wedge. It's at a commercial intersection, not one of Rochester's pretty tree-lined residential streets, but the convenience was well worth it to us. The apartment worked well for the 10 days we were there. It is an older building (1920s?) with a diverse set of tenants and the immediate area is quite urban, but it's safe walking around at night. Ann was very responsive to any minor issues that came up, and the apartment has some interesting Rochester photos and memorabilia.

    Irene2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great value! Studio has everything you need. It was very clean and comfortable. Ann had nice hospitality touches all over the apartment. We had no issues parking in the parking lot. Could be a little street noisy for someone who is used to living in country, but hey, you're visiting a city. Located in the central part of Rochester which has great restaurants, festivals, and museums. Would certainly stay here again.

    Jen2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy little place. Ann is a great host and was very helpful and communicative. I was impressed at how quickly she responded during unorthodox hours, and the outline of all the fun things to do in the area was great.

    Cara2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I was very comfortable during my stay. The place is small but very thoughtfully arranged. All the amenities you might need are provided and simple meals can easily be catered for in the kitchen. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Ann was always quick to respond to my queries and was generally very helpful and friendly. You do hear some low-level noise from the street and neighbours but I slept very well nevertheless.

    Katy2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in a lively neighborhood that is not far from downtown. The accommodations were clean and in excellent condition. Ann is a great communicator and responds promptly.

    Nicolaas2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ann’s apartment was the perfect spot for us to stay while visiting family in Rochester. Located near plenty of good bars and restaurants with great parking as well. Ann was super easy to coordinate with and the apartment was a great home base as we ran around the city meeting up with family!

This is a cozy upstairs apartment (read “quiet”, no noisy neighbors) right in the middle of the city of Rochester. This apartment has everything you might need so pack light and plan on having fun.
  • Elizabeth was a great host. She communicated all of the details we needed ahead of time, and the space was extremely clean. The location was also prime for our trip, as it was a quick drive away from many coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here, especially for a weekend getaway.

  • Clean cozy place that was close to downtown.

    Theresa2018-04-25T00:00:00Z

  • Great place. Clean and comfortable. Right in the middle of a great neighborhood with cool places to check out.

    Chris2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is cute, clean and convenient. Elizabeth responded quickly to any questions we had.

    Jo2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you are staying in Rochester and don’t book this place you are doing yourself a disservice. The apartment was perfect. Quiet, perfect distance from food and bars. Highly recommend.

    Drake2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The only issue, which was unfortunately a major issue, was the check-in process. The keyless entry pad had a dead battery. Because of this, we could not get into the Airbnb. We reached out to Elizabeth several times and we did not hear back until 11:30 that evening. When we did hear back from Elizabeth, she did not offer to come that evening to correct the solution, which was just perplexing. Once we met with Elizabeth the next morning and she corrected the issue, we had no other issues moving forward. She was very nice and offered us a refund For the night we were not able to stay, and an additional amount for the inconvenience. Had we not had this issue, I would have given this review five stars. The location was great for our plans, and we were able to find parking right in front of the house. Be mindful of the parking signs. We did need to move our car in the middle of the afternoon to avoid getting ticketed. The issue with checking in was unfortunate, and I’m sure will not be an issue with further stays.

We have the best of both worlds. We are on a quiet street right between the action of both Park and Monroe Avenue, only a short stroll to cafes, restaurants, and bars. Our spot in the Park Ave Neighborhood is a convenient 5 minutes into downtown Rochester and 10-20 minutes from the universities: St. John Fisher, Nazareth, U of R, and RIT.
We provide a fresh, clean, and simple space with amenities you need and want. This quiet space has immediate access to a shared full bathroom, mini fridge, and microwave.
We are situated in the Park Ave Neighborhood within short walking distance to the Monroe Village Neighborhood. Park Ave is Rochester's best-known neighborhood for strolling and shopping in an urban environment. You’ll find an eclectic mix of residential and commercial properties, including restaurants, bars, retail, and salons. Monroe Village is probably Rochester's funkiest neighborhood. Monroe Village after dark is a nightlife district with a casual, laid-back atmosphere. Lined with bars and independent restaurants, it is very much the place to go if you prefer jeans and t-shirt. By day, Monroe Village is a true indie shopping destination, with unique stores selling everything from antiques to trendy clothing to fair trade goods.
  • Great place, room is nice, clean, as expected from the pictures. The location is fabulous. Easy access to everything in Rochester and great restaurants and shops a quick walk away.

    Gabriel2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly hosts, great location and nice clean room and bathroom! All around, a great experience!

    Katherine2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Katie makes you comfortable the minute you walk in the door. She is available if needed, but gives you your space to come and go. The location is perfect for anything in Rochester, and parking was great. We just parked and walked, mostly. I loved the little things she did, like the shower soaps and shampoos and the mobile chargers by both sides of the bed! Awesome! Her response time was amazing as well. Can’t say enough!

    Rachel2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, cozy room with appropriate amenities for a weekend stay.

    Meghan2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located and very kind hosts.

  • A great room, very clean and comfortable, with a welcoming host! Easy access to downtown. Thanks!

    Abigail2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't have asked for a better place for my time in Rochester. The room was wonderfully decorated, super clean, and private. The house and neighborhood are very charming and conveniently located. The residents of the house were all very welcoming and friendly, we even cooked up a big dinner together one night. If I visit rochester again in the future, I'll definitely rebook here.

    Matt2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a lovely part of town and easily accessible to all areas of downtown. The room is nice for a short visit, and Katie couldn't be sweeter. She was helpful always - including moving her car out of the driveway so we could use it as we were in and out a lot. There are some nice touches in the room - USB ports for charging, earplugs, a sound machine, automatic lighting... these little things are what makes this room (and Katie) stand out for me. Just a note that the bathroom is shared with one other person on the third floor (who lives in the house), although we never saw him and it never became an issue. Overall, this is a good place to stay.

The South Wedge is a city neighborhood comprised of a triangular wedge of land bordered by the Genesee River on the west, and the Erie Canal (now I-490) on the east. It is sometimes considered to include the adjacent Swillburg and Highland Park neighborhoods, as well as parts of the Lilac Neighborhood. Both the Wedge and the Highland Park Neighborhood share the Linden-South Historic District. The area also has many small green spaces, nifty old buildings, and is in walking distance to Highland Park and Mount Hope Cemetery.
  • Very comfortable and cozy apartment in an awesome part of Rochester. I stayed here alone while traveling for business, but it would be fantastic for a family or couple as well. Highly recommend!

  • We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was exactly as advertised and the home was really comfortable. Check-in was incredibly easy and Adam was a breeze to communicate with. We had no trouble connecting to wi-fi in the master bedroom. There are great shops (and a nice new brewery) really close to the home. We would definitely stay again!

    Leah2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, accurate to the pictures. Bonus surprise of a crib in the 2nd bedroom, so it's great for families with small kids. Lots of space, big bathroom with a nice shower, and big bedrooms with tons of closet space. They've done a great job decorating and it felt like home right away!

    Emily2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here during RIT freshman orientation. It was an ideal spot, close to great restaurants/bars and not far from the RIT campus. All of Adam's recommendations were wonderful and a must do the next time we're in town. Highly recommend!

    Maura2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This space occupies the top floor of a home in the fun and funky South Wedge in Rochester. Although the house itself is outwardly older, the interior space is large, well-organized and re-modeled with a terrific sense of style. A terrific value!

    Roy2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! *Great location*, comfortable bed & linens. The back deck is beautiful and a great place to relax. The apartment is spacious and well decorated. All for an incredible price. If we're ever in Rochester again, we'll stay here.

This 1920 home is on a tree lined street. The interior of the home is a mixture of modern and period decor. The setting is historic, friendly and well maintained. George Eastman and staff lived in this neighborhood. Lowest crime area of Rochester.
Large 1920 built Edwardian House - warm and friendly atmosphere. Several areas of the house have gone through an update/renovation. The listing bedroom comfortably fits 2 guests. There is ample parking available. When you make a reservation, please let us know if you'd like flannel or cotton sheets on the bed. The house is kept at a moderately warm temperature during the colder seasons (not too hot and not too cold). If you would like additional blankets, beyond the two that are on the bed, please ask. Central air conditioning keeps the house comfortable cool during the warmer months. An oscillating fan comes standard in the room, as well.
The houses in this area were all built in the early 1900's. Every property on the street has at least one tree in the front yard and many trees are close to 100 years old. The street is extra wide, which gives it a feeling of spaciousness. The area is quiet and in my opinion it's also very safe.
  • This was our first Airbnb experience. The location was perfect for our night out. Beautiful area! Scott was very accommodating. We would not hesitate to stay here again! Very easy process!

    Kelly2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. These guys run an amazing house , I was totally floored. Plenty of parking on the street, could not have asked for a better location just off Park Ave on a quiet street but super close to EVERYTHING-nightlife, spas, restaurants, etc. The house is extremely well maintained and clean and every room is beautiful. My room was perfect, a business card listed wifi and other info, fresh towels were placed on top of my comfortable bed, and a pitcher of water with a glass and some candy on a tray were on the desk...little things like that go above beyond all expectations. Brett is a great host, I enjoyed our conversations and he is very helpful. I plan on returning very soon!

    Lauren2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was a great host, he welcomed me into his home and his hospitality is apparent at every turn. I particularly wanted to stay in this area as I used to live there so it worked perfectly from all aspects

    Sally2014-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • I made a last minute decision to attend a weekend workshop and was was looking for a clean, safe place to lay my head overnight that was reasonably priced and this fit the bill. The host was extremely responsive and helpful when it came to directions, parking and food options in the area. When I arrived, I was greeted by the host and shown the downstairs bathroom and kitchen ( which I did not have the opportunity to use). Then I was shown to my room, to the upstairs bathroom and briefly met another guest staying there. A few quick words were exchanged to hammer out morning bathroom schedule and then I was left alone in peace. My room was simple(large bed, dresser, night stand, desk, closet). The bed was alittle too firm for my taste but I had enough pillows and blankets. There was no TV but I knew that going in and had a brought book but after a long day, I didn't even read it and went to bed shortly after I arrived. Some added touches were the snack and water carafe left out for me, lighted mirror, the wifi password and big clean towels. The bathroom is small but effective. It was a quiet tree lined neighborhood, and I didn't even hear a peep from my host or the other guest. My only tip for the host would be to possibly change laundry detergent to hypo allergenic or unscented for the linens, as the flowery odor bothered me abit and to add an alarm clock(which wasn't a big deal since I used the alarm on my phone). I definitely stay here again and would recommend to other guests.

    Kimberly2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Scott is a great host and was extremely accommodating to my families stay and various arrival times and check ins. He is also very quick to respond to questions and asks how your stay can be more comfortable. Brett and Scott’s home is an easy walk to coffee shops and restaurants which is very nice.

    Nancy2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's a really nice house! Awesome decorations and beautiful and functional lights in each room. Also very comfortable beds and plenty of privacy. Brett is a sweet host. Couldn't recommend more!

Private room and bathroom in loft in downtown Rochester. Exposed brick, tons of natural light, and walking distance to Geva, Eastman, Liberty Pole, museums, and restaurants. Right in the center of the Jazz Festival. Cohabitants: two friendly cats.
Luxury loft in downtown recently renovated from office building built in the 1920s. The exposed brick is a warm counterpoint to the high ceilings and exposed air ducts. The large windows allow tons of light in, and retractable blinds are in place for privacy.
Downstairs and just across the street is the Liberty Pole, which is lit with hundreds of lights. Next door you will find shops, restaurants, coffee spots, and a fantastic used book store! Four blocks away is the Little theater which plays independent films every night and has musical performances in its cafe. Only 20 minutes from the airport!
  • Lorraine’s place is luxurious, sparkling clean, trendy, and centrally located with a great view. Her cats are friendly and cuddly as well. Who could ask for more? She herself is flexible, fun to talk to, and communicates very well. She was also graciously patient with us after a day of travel. She’s an Air BnB saint!

Beautiful basement fully renovated for guests. We just moved to Rochester, NY and we finished a major renovation in the whole house.
Large basement with open floor plan. Bedroom has a queen size bed and plenty of shelving. The living room area has a sofa bed and a smart TV, nice dining room table and a small, but complete, kitchen. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, two burner electrical stove, coffee maker, microwave, mixer and all the cooking supplies you may need. There's also a very comfortable daybed and a large bathroom. We live in the house above the basement but you will have a private entrance. The basement has 7 windows and the bathroom also has a window. We have a 2 year old son and our house has old wood floors, although we try to keep him as quiet as possible in the mornings, you will probably hear us. If you are driving, there's plenty of parking in front of the house.
Quiet neighborhood with lots of trees. Less than 3 miles to the beach and to parks like Durand Eastman Park.
  • We stayed 2 nights at Mariana's place. Though it is a basement, it is easy to forget that you are partially underground due to the light coming in through the many windows around the space. Additionally, with soft carpet, ample light fixtures, and cheery decor, one can feel all of the thought and consideration put into the creation of the space. We are very happy to have found this place, it was a great place to stay while we were in town for a wedding at UofR.

    Ashley2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our basement stay with Mariana & Fabio, great residential area. 5min walk to cafes. Was beautifully clean, juice & snacks a nice touch. A bit noisy with above movement, but with insulation & when Fabio gets the ceiling finished, will be much improved.

  • Mariana’s basement is amazing! It’s simple fabulous and very clean. The decoration is very stylish. The shower is very good too. You have everything you need. I really want to come back here again. Totally recommend!

  • I would definitely recommend this place it is worth it from the host to everything in the apartment, the communication and Anthony always there if you need him very nice place

    Bryan2018-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a clean space in an old creaky house with modern appliances and new furnishings. There was good parking in the back. It was good value for our group of five. There are no restaurants or shops in the area so you will need to get in the car to do anything. It is however conveniently drivable to all of Rochester. Anthony was a good host.

    Diane2018-05-19T00:00:00Z

Charming 3BR/4BR in desirable Cobbs Hill neighborhood, lovingly furnished, new kitchen and patio, fully equipped. Dishwasher, Washer, Dryer, Grill, dedicated study, garage, backyard.
Make yourself at home under the pergola, or the sofa, or in the TV room. Many places to cozy up in the cottage like house.
Great cozy neighborhood near Cobbs Hill Park and Wegmans. Not more than 10 minutes away from all key sites in Rochester.
  • Peter has a wonderful home, and the area is very nice. The home is spacious and has most everything you would need for a stay. Peter was out of town during our visit, but he had Alicia meet us at his home for check in. She was very helpful in showing us around and telling us about the home and our responsibilites as guests. The back patio is a wonderful place to sit and relax, even has a firepit for cooler nights. Peter, although a thousand + miles away, was attentive to our needs and responded promptly when contacted.

    Susan2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Great quiet location in upscale neighborhood-close to restaurants, shops, and airport. Lots of room for multiple visitors. Art and decorating is eclectic and interesting. Cons: the kitchen and bathrooms were not clean (visible dirt and bugs), sheets on one bed were stained. Host apologized and said he would speak to his cleaning service about doing a better job.

    Julia2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home is truly wonderful. Beautiful, peaceful location, well situated next to the forest for evening strolls, really close to the grocery store (Wegmans), and the highway. The interior is decorated with stunning attention to detail, the kitchen is fully equipped, there was enough space for our family of 6, and we loved sitting outside on the patio for meals. 100% recommendation for this stay.

  • Awesome house!

    Rosie2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very special house in a convenient location. Quaint area with lots of charm. Would highly recommend and stay again.

    Rianna2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's house is simply stunning! The interior of the home is wonderfully decorated with a modern, minimal style. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless. Beds were very comfortable and exterior space on the patio was perfect for outdoor socializing. Extremely excellent value. This home far and away exceeded our expectations.

    Julie2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a stately home in a safe and gorgeous neighborhood! Peter's home neighbors an awesome park and nestled in one of the State's greatest walkabout areas. If peace and tranquility is what you want in a home then you have found the Mother ship - so I dare you to enjoy the stay as much as I did !

    Stephen2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peter has an absolutely beautiful home! His house is conveniently located next to downtown Rochester and an easy drive to the surrounding suburbs.

Come spend some time in our community-minded, sustainable-living housing collective. We offer low-frills accommodations for the traveler on a budget. We're located in one of Rochester's most scenic and vibrant neighborhoods, close by to Eastman School of Music, George Eastman House, and Rochester Public Market.
We couldn't say it any better than this! =) "What a wonderful time I had staying at Little Flower. If you want to stay at the Four Seasons and spend $200 a night, then have at it. If instead you need comfortable accommodations with super nice hosts, then stay here." -Josh, Spring '14 **Please note that occasionally, due to guests extending stays, whole apartment bookings, and other extenuating circumstances, it may be necessary to provide our guests with a room other than the one pictured in this listing. Rest assured that all of our rooms feature comfortable beds, comparable amenities, and plenty of warm hospitality! =) If it is SUPER important to you to have this EXACT room, please let us know.
Close by to nightlife, parks, good eats, and cafes, the Eastman School of Music and George Eastman House, the Rochester Public Market, the Riverside Convention Center and much, much more!
  • Joe kindly met us when we arrived, showed us how to access our room, helped my husband and son find a safe place to store a couple of bicycles overnight, and showed us in, despite a later-than-planned arrival. There were only a couple of other people staying while we were there, and everyone was friendly. As mentioned in another review, there is street noise, but it was tolerable - not a super busy street for the city. We were even invited to a pot luck to celebrate a newly painted mural nearby (though we *had* to see Lake Ontario, so we missed it). We would go back (and probably will, say, around Parents' weekend at the school)!

    Liane2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • OK so let me answer the question - Was it worth it? Yes, $34/night, totally. Was it represented well, honestly no. Look at picture, that is not where I stayed, look at all the pictures, nothing there represents where I stayed. The two guys were perfectly nice if not a bit removed and distant, not exactly the warming friendliness that I have experienced before. What I got was fine, a bedroom and bathroom that reminded me of the room I had in college in a house not unlike this one. So, while I believe it was somewhat misrepresented, and in a neighborhood that was not exactly as I was led to believe, it was worth the charge and no harm no foul.

    Cooke2013-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • I met only Jesse very shortly but he is friendly and nice host. The room and bed are good and comfortable to sleep.

    Mitsunori2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 3-night stay with Joe, Julia and adorable Elson. They were very warm and kind, the room was big enough for all of us (2 adults, and two young children) and we felt welcomed. We spent our time in Rochester at the Museum of Play and they offered a lot of helpful tips and places to eat nearby. It was our first experience as air BNB guests and we were extremely happy with how it went and can't wait to do it again! You will love this family and the lovely community they have built around them.

    MattBonn2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place. I feel like at home. They are very nice and very kind with the guess. I'll go back.

  • I was in Rochester on business for two days. I arrived late at night on Megabus, later than expected due to a delay, but Joe was nice enough to meet me and get me set up. The room is great- comfortable, adjacent to a shared bathroom, on the same level as the kitchen. The household is set up to be as environmentally responsible as possible in this world, and they do a great job, setting a fantastic example. They're also a very kind and cool bunch.

    Dale2013-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here - the host was attentive and easy to reach at all times. We only wished that our schedules had worked out so that we could have spent more time getting to know everyone better! We will definitely try keep this place in mind the next time we are in Rochester!

    Brittany2012-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the little flower was absolutely amazing, they went above and beyond my expectations, the guys at the house were friendly, fun, interesting and open, I cant even begin to list the things that I learned and experienced whilst I was there as there are so many. So if you're lucky enough to come accross their listing I highly reccomend that you look no further.

  • Diana's place was easy to find, in a safe neighborhood, and close to everything. Diana was pleasant and quick to show me around as I only had a few minutes upon arriving before I had to head out again to set up for a show I was doing for the whole weekend. I found the home to be quite quiet, essentially had the bathroom to myself, and was always a comfortable temperature. I did get a chance to chat with her husband the last night I was there, and he's a very interesting, educated, artistic guy with whom I'm glad to have had the opportunity to form an acquaintanceship. That said, I feel that their place is quite the ideal if you need to stay in the Rochester area.

    Chris2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • My hosts were delightful and extraordinary. They are interesting talented people who, fortunately for the traveller, decided to share their home. The house is spotless; the bed extremely comfortable. Diana and Brian nade sure that I had everything I needed--- it would have been perfect even without their extreme generosity. With no plans to travel that way again in the near future, I'll need to contrive a reason to go back to Rochester!

    Meira2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the house almost a week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. When I visited, Rafi was my host and Diana was out of town. I realized later that he was her son and not her husband, Rafi and his brother were friendly and helpful. Rafi was really interesting and fun to talk to. He also respected my privacy. The bed was comfortable. The neighborhood was peaceful. Rafi checked in to see if I had everything I needed. Water pressure was good. Everything was clean. They also left little notes throughout the house to help me know what to do. I would definitely stay again.

    Julia2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • They were both wonderful hosts and very accommodating. The house was clean and the neighborhood is quaint. They were very helpful in telling me about Rochester and attractions nearby. Would definitely recommend!

    Matthew2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Diana, Brian and Rafi are very welcoming. I stayed 11 days at their place when I first arrived in Rochester, NY and they have been really great! Talking with them and sharing their experiences is really interesting and will bring you to discover so many things. I definitely recommend to stay at their place if you have the opportunity.

Central air conditioning keeps the house comfortably cool during the warmer months. An oscillating fan comes standard in the room, as well.
The houses were all built in the early 1900's (from (phone number hidden)). Every property on the street has at least one tree in the front yard and most trees are close to 100 years old. The street is extra wide, which gives it a feeling of spaciousness. The area is quiet and in my opinion it's also very safe.
  • I had been to Rochester before and my stays were very impersonal. This time around, at Scott’s place, it felt like being home. He and his room-mate Brett are very welcoming and hospitable hosts. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet; the room I stayed in spacious and clean. I also had the pleasure of meeting some of their friends and neighbors, and the joy of tasting Brett’s cooking. You will be delighted with the warmth of the environment. Their casa was mi casa!

    John2013-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brett and Scott were wonderful hosts. We felt very comfortable and welcome in their home, which is very conveniently located in an older neighborhood near downtown with very easy highway access. Our room was prepared very nicely and our hosts were very wiling to share refrigerator space with us. The booking process was very smooth and timely.

    Roxanne2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment you step in the door of this elegant home, you feel welcome. Brett and Scott are warm and welcoming hosts, working hard to ensure their guests are comfortable from start to finish. From drinking water in your room to snacks, a fabulous kitchen and comfy comfy beds, you will want for nothing other than to extend your stay. The neighborhood is lovely, close to much of what Rochester has to offer and safe to walk in, with many lovely eating options that Brett will steer you towards if you so wish. The local supermarket is close by also and the kitchen is easy to use. As a first timer with Airbnb, I could not have asked for more and will return at every opportunity I get. They have set a high standard for future Airbnb ventures!

    Annette2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • I book the room for my parents, who only speak very limited English. Scott and Brett are very nice people, they are willing to communicate with them in simple English or through (Hidden by Airbnb) translate. They concerned my parents felling and offered comfortable living environment. The bathroom and living room are very clean and the kitchen facility are complete as well. I recommend this house! :)

    Carisa2014-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room is everything as described and the house and neighborhood are wonderful. The room and bathroom were spotless, bed was extremely comfortable with luxurious sheets. Several very nice restaurants are within a 5 minute walking distance. It is nice to be able to stay in a real house while on the road and to get a sense of the towns we are visiting.

    Lynne2014-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We needed to spend a Saturday night in Rochester after a wedding. The house was in a great location, close to the wedding venue. We were greeted at the door by Scott, who showed us how to lock and enter the house. We were shown to our room which was just as described and shown in the pictures. Clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Brett made us a delicious espresso before we got dressed to go to the wedding. He also filled us in on some neighborhood and house history. We returned home after the wedding and went right to bed. Probably the most important thing to us was a clean room and bathroom, and a comfy bed. We got all of that. A very comfortable bed, nice soft sheets, fluffy towels … loved all of it. Slept really well, and had to leave pretty early. We didn't have time to really enjoy Brett's company but when we did we felt very welcome and at home. Scott and Brett definitely are doing this the right way … very professional! I would recommend this to anyone asking!

    Renee2014-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable space! The accommodations were neat and just as described - perfect. Scott was extremely helpful and welcoming. He went above and beyond and even offered to give me a ride to a nearby venue (I was in town for a wedding). I would highly recommend staying at one of Brett and Scott's rooms if you're in the area :)

    Alyssa2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The host was welcoming and friendly. He showed us the room, the shared bathroom, and his lovely kitchen. Asked for any help, assistance and was a great host. I would greatly recommend this Airbnb for future uses. I definitely will come back when I visit Rochester.

  • This AirBNB is a real example of "you get what you pay for." I was attracted to the low rate, and saw that the place was spartan from the look of the photos. But it is truly spartan: the futon couch and the desk chair are the only two places to sit in the apartment. (And on the bed, I guess.) The space is appropriate for people who need to crash for one or two nights, but it wasn't really appropriate for my two-week stay. Ken was very responsive to all of my needs, especially when the hot water wasn't working. (He fixed it within the hour.) He also provided me with some extra hangers when I asked for them. I've suggested to Ken that he add a few more things to make the place more comfortable: a kitchen table and chairs, a bureau and a nightstand in the bedroom, maybe a chair in the living room, and a moving cart to provide more counter space in the kitchen. Ken is eager to make some upgrades to the place, so I'd ask about them if some of the things I mentioned are important to you. Again, if you're planning one or two nights and you want something inexpensive, then the place is okay. But if you want to cook and hang out, keep searching. I want to stress that Ken is a really nice man and worked hard to make me happy, which I really appreciated.

    Harry2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is amazing! Clean, VERY spacious and VERY comfortable. At every turn, Ken was a terrific host who gave us great information that made our check in and check out super easy. Throughout the apartment, there were helpful details everywhere that added to our comfort (a coffee maker, coffee beans, mugs, cups, dishes, cutlery, a large fridge, a brita pitcher, a microwave, a stove, pots and and pans, a tea kettle, shampoo, conditioner, soap...the list goes on!) Beyond the amazing accommodations, the apartment is well located on a quiet street that is a 5-10 minute drive (or about a 20-30 minute walk) from countless Rochester attractions and restaurants. This place comes highly recommended!

    Christine2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this little apartment! It was close to all of our destinations. Very private. It was very simple but in the best way, we had everything we needed! Ken even helped us out when we arrived a little early for check in. If you're looking for a simple, private apartment in a good location, this is for you

  • My stay at Ken's was ok :) I didn't really have time to enjoy the house as I was busy with work. The place is really big and it felt a little bit empty, with only me inside! Two people would be glad to enjoy having space. The bus is close, take care of hours! The only thing is it's a bit far from the center of Rochester if you have to go back home at night (50min walking).

I alway say you can get anywhere in about 15 minutes or less.
  • Great space with lots of nice personal touches and the hosts were very friendly and helpful throughout. Would definitely come back, and would highly recommend others to do the same.

  • It was a perfect space for what I was looking for. Gina and Kerry were great hosts. Very respectful and accommodating to my needs. The space was cozy and a perfect size for what I needed.

  • This is our second stay with Gina and Kerry perfect spot everything you need spotless hosted with care and detail. We will visit again!

    Lotte2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gina and Kerry were great! We were there visiting RIT and they had plenty of tips and were willing to take questions! The space was beautiful and comfortable! Would definitely stay again!

    Nicky2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spotless place, very nicely set up. Gina is a thoughtful and very kind host.

    Mary2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gina and her husband made our accommodations perfect. The location was very convenient. The home was far more conformable than any extended stay or hotel in the area. The price was comparable to the hotels however their location was worth far more. Cleanliness and comfort were major priorities for me traveling with a young child. Our stay surpassed my needs. I look forward to staying with them in the future.

    Ashley2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Wow! & WOW!!! What can I say... This place was a gem. My girlfriend and I have had the pleasure of staying in some great Airbnb's over the last few years, but I have to say that this was one of our favourites for numerous reasons... Firstly, Gina was a lovely host who was very quick to respond to all of my communication both before and during our stay... She even asked me a couple weeks earlier if I wanted any special surprises in the place because she knew we were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, secondly, you could tell that much money was invested by Gina and her husband in building the addition to their house and the place was spotless when we arrived and had lots of small touches like basic staples (coffee, creamer, snacks and emergency hygiene products in case you forget something). Check-in was also a breeze due to a lockbox and Gina also accommodated us with a late checkout seen as she didn't have another guest arriving that day. As for location, their house is settled into a nice quiet suburb but very close proximity to shops, restaurants and the highway. We would highly recommend this place to any other guests and won't hesitate to stay here again if we come back to Rochester. Thank you Gina & family for an amazing weekend getaway experience.

    Paul2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gina and Kerry were such great hosts. It was the perfect weekend getaway. They were very accommodating and made the place feel like home. My daughter really enjoyed the backyard with pool and playground. Location was close to everything but very peaceful at the end of the day. Everything was very clean and well organized. I would not hesitate to stay there again!

Our place is in the City Center East End close to restaurants, coffee shops, independent film movie theater, family-friendly activities, nightlife, and public transport. You’ll love my place because of the location, ambiance, the comfy bed, and the neighborhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups (we have FOUR completely independent rooms with all amenities each). Think of a mini Hotel thats complete self serve like Yotel NYC.
Our place was designed and built with the traveller/adventurer in mind, each room is designed to maximize your comfort, and it's all brand new! With four rooms all adjoined by a common entrance and lobby, it's easy to get in and out and the best part is the location! Right in the heart of the East End with everything you'll love less than a block or two from the front door; coffee houses, great restaurants, independent film theater and all the museums within easy walking distance.
  • Convenient to eateries

    Jay2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, comfort, and decor. Walking distance to many conveniences and fun activities.

    Marie2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place. Extremely convenient, clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was a huge bonus!

    Rachel2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place that I would love to visit again the next time I am in the area. John was also quick to answer questions leading up to my visit.

    Jacob2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • A nicely detailed micro hotel room. Very welcoming with all the amenities that we needed.

    Sb2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • John was very attentive to our requests/needs even accommodating a special favor I asked. :) This property is brand new and as such was extremely clean, beautifully appointed and comfortable. I made a few suggestions for improvement that would make a big difference and John said they would be in place for our next visit.

    Denise2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Love it here ! Great set up & location . Would recommend

    Rachel2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is great. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. The place is not only clean but modern, new, and comfortable. John responded really quick to any request we had. Also, he had great suggestions on places to eat/drink nearby. The Ugly Duck coffee shop and Harts grocery store were fantastic. Parking is super easy so we could walk or drive without worry of parking.

Bright comfortable apartment close to cultural attractions, great dining, great parks in an historical neighborhood. Walking distance to most attractions. On bus line to all local universities and colleges My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets).
The space has a full kitchen and comfortable living room. There is desk space for your work needs that will not encroach on the couch while you watch the 42" tv . Chrome cast is attached for streaming your media. The bedroom has a new super comfortable queen bed. Tv in the bedroom also for insomniacs! Please specify if you would like to have the futon bed made up in the living room.
I have lived in this neighborhood for 35 years and I notice something new every time I go for a walk. The homes are beautiful. The people are great. Dining, partying, museums, the river and the lake are all right here! No matter what a Rochestarian tells you, we Love our seasons, even Winter!
  • Great cozy spot for a relaxing getaway! Maureen is super friendly and helpful!

    Alexus2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen's place was perfect! It was cute, clean, cozy, and she had an array of snacks and drinks waiting for us. There were little restaurants and shops within walking distance, and downtown Rochester was only about a mile away. If you have time to kill, Lake Ontario was a 30 minute drive, and it was pretty spectacular. There was plenty of street parking, but just make sure you really read the signs to know which side of the street to park on at what time of day. Maureen was a great hostess, and even provided us with a iron and ironing board, as she knew we were in town for a wedding. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I'd highly recommend it!

    Marisha2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time using AirBnB and I wasn't sure what to expect. We were NOT disappointed! The apartment was perfect! Very welcoming and cozy. Super comfy bed. Really great outdoor space that was perfect for our dog! Fantastic location! The apartment is in walking distance to a few breweries and restaurants. We made a stop to Muller's Cider House which had the most extensive cider list I've ever seen! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! We will stay at Maureen's again for sure!

    Tara2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen is a a thoughtful and very accommodating host. Her apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood. It’s a great place for exploring Rochester.

  • My husband and I had a lovely stay at Maureen’s apartment. The house is gorgeous and the apartment is just adorable. We didn’t get a chance to meet Maureen but she was very communicative before our trip. Everything was easy and we would definitely stay here again.

    Bonnie2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment with all the basic necessities, and lots of extras as well. Maureen went out of her way to leave snacks and sodas, and provide us with accurate - timely information. If you are in Rochester or nearby areas I highly recommend you stay here. Great location and great apartment.

    Rebecca2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience with Airbnb, and it worked out beautifully for us. Maureen is a wonderful host and the apartment was great. We appreciated opening the fridge to find breakfast items, especially since we had arrived late the night before. Thank you, Maureen!

My house is a 100-year-old workman’s 4-square… which basically means it’s a cozy 3-bedroom home with lots of natural woodwork, porches to lounge on, garden space to enjoy in the warm weather, a chill host who's lived in this awesome city for over 20 years & an affectionate cat who loves to hang out with whoever has the warmest lap. The room has a queen-sized bed, ample closet & dresser space & a small desk. The neighborhood's friendly, charming, and close to most stuff in the Rochester area.
The house is in what’s called the Beechwood neighborhood of Rochester. Public Market is a 5 minute drive, downtown is 2 miles away, the U of R is about 5 miles and RIT is about 11. The airport is roughly a 15-20 minute drive and there's both Uber and Lyft available in the city. Great pubs, diners and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, including a local bowling alley/restaurant that’s been part of the neighborhood for over 60 years, a pizzeria with hands down the best pizza in Rochester, and a pub with live music several nights a week. (And when I say easy walking distance, I’m not kidding: all three of the places I just mentioned are less than 10 minutes away, even if you’re walking slowly so you can take in the charms of our neighborhood.)
An excerpt from the City of Rochester website about our fair Beechwood neighborhood: "Many houses, built between 1900 and 1930, retain classic architectural elements like American gumwood trim and stained glass windows, while updating interiors to current times and taste. Beechwood was named for a local post office and the famous Beech-Nut baby food and chewing gum company located on East Main Street. One of Beechwood’s more notable neighbors was Martha Matilda Harper, who emigrated from Canada to work as a domestic servant in Rochester in the late 1800's. Along the way, she began selling a homemade hair tonic that grew so popular that, by the time she died in 1950, she’d created “ the first business format franchising system in the U.S.” Her customers included suffragist Susan B. Anthony and Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Woodrow Wilson. Another neighborhood story places Babe Ruth playing on a baseball field on Bay Street during a visit to Rochester." Pretty nifty, huh?
  • A gorgeous home full of art. This house is located about a ten minute drive from downtown. Very easy to navigate, and close to food and convenience stores. The room is nice, and the bed is super comfortable. Dave is kind-hearted and excellent at communicating. His cat Puss is quite friendly, and will warm your lap if you allow. An open minded, judgment free space. Would highly recommend.

    Eliza2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Good place for vacation. We like the balcony of the hours very much. If you have a car you would not worry about the distance to Rochester city. The host is very nice and thoughtful.

    Jack2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dave is a very welcoming and informative host with a great taste in food. His house is really cute and comfortable, and the location is great for both walking and driving around Rochester.

    YeeJin2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a beautiful space in a beautiful neighborhood a short walk from a trending breakfast/dinner spot (James Broen’s Diner) that should not be missed. The kitteh was also a massive highlight of my stay ☺️

    Adam2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication. Helpful, kind, and very knowledgeable host, clean and beautiful home and very good location.

***This listing used to be for a loft in the same house. So some of the older reviews are of the loft. Pics soon.*** Part of the first and second floor in an 1850 Second Empire Victorian Mansion. It sleeps up to 4 people with a bed and an air mattress. There is a large bathroom. There is also a full ear in kitchen with with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, dishes, stove etc. There is wifi and tv with cable. The stairwell to second floor is narrower than a normal width (service stairs).
  • Thanks so much for a lovely stay! We walked to the waterfront at night and enjoyed the riverside restaurants and beautiful view. Loved the place and the period decor was super fun. :)

    Rachel2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • I booked it for an out of town guest and they loved it. It's in the city but not an overly busy area. There were lots of cool/quirky retro touches.

    John2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful loft!

    Vanessa2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious and light-filled loft, perfect for our weekend stay in Rochester. The optimal mix of sleeping, eating and chill-out spaces meant that everyone in our group of 4 was able to enjoy quiet time or be sociable, something impossible when sharing a standard hotel room.

    Sylwia2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and an easy base camp for a weekend visit to to Rochester. Loved waking up to so much sunlight buy occasionally woke up to the sounds of the antique fridge. Worth it though because the vintage appliances were so cool!

    Diana2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, cool vibe, wonderful location. I slept there with a friend of mine, and we had more than enough room to be comfortable. There is a nice little table by the kitchen area if you need to do work, and lots of power outlets. The windows have a nice view of the area, which is itself lovely and peaceful. More than enough seating. We slept well, and the mattresses were comfortable, but maybe some earplugs are a good idea just because the antique fridge makes some interesting intermittent noises.

    Jenn2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great, welcoming space in a beautiful home. Tucked away in a lovely location but easy enough to get to the city center.

    Devon2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The unit, for the most part, is as described. Everything about it is old and dated, but that is mentioned in the description. The bed and linens could definitely use an update and the windows need some coverings added as many don't have any blinds/curtains so I'd recommend eye masks. Eron & Brianna were responsive to my emails and the unit was cleaned right before we arrived so that's always nice to know.

  • Super unique, comfortable and clean. A much cooler place to stay than some hotel. It really felt like home. Breakfast and coffee were both wonderful! I’ll definitely be back.

  • Très bel endroit, bien situé à peine 10 minutes de marche de la salle Main armory. J’y retourne sans problème!

  • Fantastic stay for our anniversary! You can’t get better than this in Rochester. It was such an easy check-in and SO private. We didn’t see one person other than the kind gentleman who delivered our breakfast! Yes, you heard that right. Delivered our fluffy pancakes, eggs, avocado, orange juice, and coffee carafe! It was delicious; not your usual continental breakfast. It was a beautiful spot & it was CLEAN. Left amenities like Red Bull, water, soda, candy bars, and snacks. Beautiful bathroom with a jacuzzi tub (that we didn’t get to use, but can’t wait to come back). On top of this, it is extremely close to Main Street Armory and Rochester Auditorium! Also close to museums and awesome, eccentric art! Great restaurants near by as well. Thanks for the great hospitality!

    Brittany2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loft 213 was amazing. The tub was just what I needed. Check in was a breeze. Steven sent me all the info needed. He was very communicative and sent us dinner ideas when I asked. The included breakfast was delicious, but it was late and unfortunately there is no microwave in this loft so breakfast was a little cold. I knew from the pics that it didn't have a full kitchen, but I did think it would have a microwave. So, keep that in mind when booking this loft. Otherwise, 10/10, would stay again!

    Jessica2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very comfortable. The place is exactly as shown in the pictures and includes a delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend.

  • First let me say, I live in Rochester and typically you don't look up places to stay BEING HOME. The reactions I got were priceless when I told people I was booking my wedding night on "airbnb Rochester!" Nonetheless, I wanted that home away from home feeling, and the pricey hotels were a no go! The luxury lofts were AMAZING, our stay in loft #213 was OUTSTANDING. Steve was amazing with directions and communication! Don't get me started on the "brought to your door gourmet breakfast." Talk about the perfect breakfast for newlyweds! By far the best INCLUDED meal i've ever had! This was such an important day/night for me and I couldn't be more thankful and satisfied with our stay! Thank you.

  • Sreejith was a very friendly and hospitable host, very accommodating of a last-minute change in my arrival time. He also very generously provided food for breakfast, which I really appreciated as I had to run to an early morning obligation when I was staying there. His place is also in a very convenient location near U of R and the South Wedge, so it was a great stay overall.

  • My teenage son and I stayed at Joseph's while in Rochester for an art festival. He was very friendly, easy going, and helpful when checking us in. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and lovely. The Smart TV was a huge plus for my son. The shower had good pressure, and the bed and linens very comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed and he even provided coffee, snacks, and fresh veggies. I loved sitting and relaxing on the porch! The location was perfect for our needs- I would love to go back and stay there again when not working to explore and enjoy all the neighborhood has to offer. This was definitely one of the best Airbnb stays I've had, highly recommended!

  • This place was spectacular for our two weeks in Rochester. Great location! Great communication! We felt so taken care of and the charm of the place is mind-blowing! Well decorated. Very clean. Very homie :) Wish we could have stayed longer.
