Your private apartment in the lower level of our home is much like a motel room, but BETTER! Because here you will have stunning private views of mountains during the day, and at night, you will have unpolluted views of the stars. Plus, motels are in cities. Here you will experience quiet. Get comfortable with mountain views and fresh, clean air at 3,200' altitude, close to Canaan Valley/Blackwater Falls State Parks. Also, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob (highest point of WV). Lots of hiking/biking trails. Unique shopping in Davis and Thomas with a variety of restaurants. Fast food? An adventurous, scenic drive goes to Parsons, with the only McDonald's and traffic light in the county. Relax on the back deck to view the horse pasture and the small private airport.

Tree House

Wintertime readiness: When we have snow, 4-wheel or All-wheel drive will be best. Watch the weather. Un plug at Tree House. There is no Wi-Fi. We provide a TV w/ DVDs. There’s a cabin smart phone for your use if you do not have phone service. A 15 minute drive takes you to Thomas, WV for food and art and music (and Wi-Fi).Five more minutes and you are in Davis for Blackwater Falls State Park. A few more miles down the road find two alpine ski areas and White Grass Ski Touring Center.

Come enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking to Mule Hole & take a train ride to High Falls. Drive over the hill to Glady you will find the walking & bike trails of the West Fork Rail Trail. Come disconnect and unwind while taking in the beautiful WV mountains and fresh air. Please note there is NO cell service in the area.

Stay in the masterfully crafted Lemuel Chenoweth homestead along the rippling Tygart river. Built in 1857, this 2nd floor suite offers antiques furnishings, a private entrance, master bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and mud room. It has a queen bed, dresser, large porch with views of the river, a clawfoot tub with shower, sink, toilet, and a well stocked farmhouse kitchenette with a double induction cook top, sink , fridge and more. We do not offer a TV. Near Elkins.
