Built by our ancestor, M. R. Raman, the house has been in continuous occupation since 1939. M. R. Raman generated his vast fortune from his business empire in Ceylon. His international exposure translated to some unique features to this otherwise traditional 'Tharavadu', ancestral home, such as Japanese wall tiles and wrought iron grills. This imposing three story structure with its wooden pillars and wooden ceiling has been immortalised by the, 60+, films, serial and commercials filmed here.

Hi! We are excited to welcome new people from around the world for a memorable stay. I'm Dr. Devi K. living with my family to the next compound of this property. I'm a college teacher and settled in Tirur after my Ph.D. from IIT Madras. My in-laws will be available in the next compound, they are enjoying their retirement life by gardening, cooking etc. You may bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun.
