The most perfect stay for my partners birthday. The lodge itself was clean and had everything you could have wanted. We forgot milk, but he provided sachets of milk as standard. The views out the hot tub were incredible. Lots of details like a speaker system in the ceiling linked to the tablet and Netflix already logged in. A peaceful and relaxing stay and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful house with lovely decorations/ extra touches such as candles, cosy blankets etc. The log burner made the house feel cosy and there was plenty of logs provided. The kitchen/dining area was very well equiped with plenty of plates etc. There were also lots of extras provided such as washing up liquid, bin bags, tea, coffee, sugar etc. The only thing we needed to buy was some dishwasher tablets. The bathroom was probably the one area that wasn't 5 star as the hot tap handle kept falling off. The shower was also very noisy and leaked so this could only be used when everyone was awake (if you have any older members in your party they will probably need to use the ensuite shower as the shower in the bathroom is over the bathtub which has very high sides so is tricky to get in/ out of). Overall a beautiful house in a tranquil setting. Thank you.

House was beautiful thank you for a lovely stay

This tiny cottage was a delight to stay in, loved the orchard garden, perfect for a picnic and a nap in the sun! It's nearby to a few nice towns and Raby Castle, but far enough away that it's peaceful. The cottage is cosy and homely, very well equipped, good hot shower! It's very easy to find, good size parking space. Carolyn was a great host, communicative, welcoming and gave good recommendations for things to do / places to eat. We will be returning!

Thank you so much for having us, we absolutely loved every minute at your beautiful cottage. We couldn’t believe how many animals we saw and how peaceful it was. Our daughter was fascinated looking out the window and seeing all the animals and even looking at the trees. The welcoming freshly baked goods were delicious and added a lovely touch. We have had the most lovely and relaxing night away at The Lake House. The room was amazing and the bed was so comfy. The surroundings were stunning and a real treat from the busy area that we are from. It was a little birthday get away for me and my girlfriend and it was perfect! We can’t wait to hear about the new donkey addition when it is born!

Hands down the best equipped and most homely Airbnb we’ve stayed in. We just spent Xmas there, everything we needed to make a Xmas dinner (dishwasher an absolute bonus) and everything we needed to have a relaxing festive break that made us feel we were at home. House had decorations and a welcome basket which was lovely. Communication excellent throughout. Very generous with essentials like dishwasher tablets and coal for the fire. Beautiful garden (fenced in for our dog) great play room in the loft that the kids loved. Bedrooms comfy, linen lovely quality, lots of storage. Lots of areas to hang out with the family, play games, cook, watch tv and relax. Excellent location for Sunderland, Durham, Newcastle and all the area has to offer. The view to the beautiful river outside was just the icing on the cake, so lovely for dog walks. Can’t recommend enough

We enjoyed our stay at Anita and Bruce’s. The welcome gifts, music playing and the lamps on when we arrived made us feel very welcome. The lodge was perfectly clean. Anita made the effort to provide details for local walks. Great place for unwinding. Besides the small local village being within walking distance, drives out in the car are highly recommended.

Lovely accommodation felt right at home very comfortable would defo stay again when in the area 👍🏻
