Great place to stay if you’re doing the C2C cycle. The Cross Keys pub is a good 10-minute walk (downhill there, uphill on way back). Make sure to save some energy for the walk and book in advance as pub is quite small and v busy! Breakfast was great: help yourself and tonnes of cereal, toast and eggs. Sophie very kindly got some soya milk after I asked for a dairy free option. Sophie and Lizzie also kindly turned the heating on so the room was lovely and warm on arrival. Thanks for a great stay!

Great little cottage for a short stay. Angie was very helpful and friendly. Easy to find, very peaceful. Enclosed gravelled area to the back, perfect if you smoke or have a four legged friend. The pub next door was fantastic, service and food second to non, only downside is it didn't serve breakfast.

Super friendly hosts, great home-cooked food. Lovely room. Immaculately clean, great location for town and for sightseeing further afield.

Stayed here while I attended a wedding at Redworth Hall so it was a perfect location for that. The room was nice and spacious, lovely comfy bed and I opted for the £5 cooked breakfast in the morning which was a nice treat. Paul and Jasmine made me feel very welcome.

This is a great place to stay, it was perfect for what we wanted to do, which was relax, catch up, hike and explore the local area. Bunkhouse facilities were excellent and the kitchen area was well stocked. We even made use of the outside covered seating too. Very friendly hosts, and the location was excellent. Good pub within walking distance too. Would recommend.

Steve is a fantastic host!! Warm and welcoming. The House is lovely and cosy, was the perfect overnight stay for the event I was up in the area for. Steve put on a great breakfast including delicious home made bread. Can’t recommend enough. Enjoy

The cafe of the Georgian Townhouse is one of my favorite places to go when I was studying in Durham. Jane and Robert are very welcoming hosts that made my family felt at home. The radiator didn’t heat up fast but Jane gave me an electric fan which helped a lot. The breakfast is amazing as usual (love the pancakes). Enjoyed our time very much during our stay. Hope to be back here again someday.

Comfy beds and very clean. The host was very welcoming, organised and helpful. We were in Durham for a University visit and although it was a little far from the campus it wasn’t a problem as the transport links are great and our host was kind enough to drop us off near the University. Would recommend.

Recommend and an amazing pancake breakfast including vegan the next day. Lovely friendly hosts
