Don’s beautiful VanHoevenberg Ridge has become our home base in the ADK, and a “home away from home” where we return several times a year to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and lakes in all seasons. This is by far the best place we have stayed since we have been coming to the ADK for over 30 years. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you’ll be back! Don’s place has everything you’ll need, and is near to everywhere you’ll want to go. The views of the High Peaks are stellar, and the hot tub is relaxing after an active day outdoors. Don is a welcoming host who truly cares that his guests have the best experience, whether avid hikers or simply wanderers seeking serenity and renewal in the woods and waters near his home. He respects your privacy, but is happy to provide his knowledge of the area to find the best hike or paddle for you. This place is our North Star in the ADK: bright, constant, and a place we’ll always look to return to. We recommend it highly to everyone!

We had a wonderful stay. We’re a group of 4 mostly retired couples. Linda’s place was perfect for our needs. We used 4 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, comfortable communal space, a dining room that accommodated all of us, and a great kitchen with lots of counter space, utensils, serving dishes, etc. The main bedroom upstairs also had an adjoining suite perfect for families with young children. Linda’s instructions were clear and she was very responsive to all messages. Linda had towels for the hot tub which we loved using after a day of outdoor activity. We highly recommend Linda’s place and look forward to returning next year.

AMAZING!!! If you are looking for a house to stay at with multiple people in Lake Placid then this is the place to stay!!! Plenty of bed rooms and multiple living rooms! Everything was clean and inside was beautiful. Short walk to Main Street so that was convenient. Also, the kitchen was wonderful and was great to cook in. Very well equipped! The hosts were awesome, left clear instructions on check in and clean up. Responded right away and were super nice!! We were all very happy with our stay (:

The Chalet was just perfect. Listing perfectly described what you were getting with this little piece of paradise! The Sauna was easily workable. The hot tub was clean and ready to go. The whole house was immaculate and roomy yet cozy. Perfect distance to the MANY MANY WATERFALLS the boyfriend and I were chasing. Skiing at Whiteface will be happening in the future, and hopefully using Judi's gorgeous Chalet to ease my weary bones once again in the future. This 2 story townhouse in Stowe Village was the perfect home base for our visit, offering both comfort and convenience. Located just steps from shops and restaurants, we loved being able to explore the charming village without needing to drive. The townhouse itself has a well-equipped kitchen that made meal preparation a breeze, along with a spacious dining and living area that provided plenty of room. The layout was ideal for gathering, whether enjoying a home-cooked meal or simply unwinding in the cozy living space. Communicating with Kim was very easy and she was super to work with. The home has comfortable mattresses & bedding ensuring restful nights. The townhouse was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed. The combination of its prime location, welcoming ambiance, and thoughtful amenities made for a truly enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this townhouse to anyone visiting Stowe VT.

This place is peaceful, beautiful, a gem. I loved hearing the water from the sundeck (porch with windows): looking and hearing the water, feeling so close was a balm and beauty. For those seeking rustic beauty, you cannot do better. The home is well set-up: cozy, stocked, inviting. The sky is full of stars, the tide comes in and out, the woods are just there. David's local recommendations were also outstanding, making us feel like visitors welcomed personally. We followed several of his suggestions at an easy pace: and so soaked in the quaint Brooklyn, WoodenBoatSchool, and gem-of-a-library. It was autumn with some rain, some cool, great beauty always. In other weather we might have done a campfire or bbq. Lovely seats outside. There were more places to sleep than we imagined there might be: it was just my teen son and I, so we didn't even go to the loft. This is a cozy cabin on the sea, with exceptional grounds and a good soul for host!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well-maintained and spotless everything was. The house was not only neat and clean but also thoughtfully equipped with every small detail you could think of—from kitchen essentials to a great selection of board games that kept everyone entertained. What really stood out was the host Kaylee’s responsiveness and attention to detail. She was quick to reply to any questions we had and even went the extra mile by arranging for someone to clean the driveway during our stay when it snowed, which we really appreciated. It made us feel well taken care of and added to the overall comfort of the trip. The combination of a beautiful, clean space and a caring, proactive host made our experience truly memorable. We loved our time here and would gladly return in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable gateway!!

A perfect spot for us and our small pooch. The only challenge was that I had to carry our small dog upstairs, because she couldn’t do the stairs. Wonderful,private location, and Barb dealt with an internet issue very promptly, but also respected our privacy.

This condo is a GREAT location if you're skiing at Stowe. Being able to make a right turn onto Mountain Rd in the morning (if you're familiar with Stowe traffic you'll understand what I mean) and be at the slopes in less than 10 minutes was amazing. And with the Topnotch Resort being on Mountain Rd, you're right in the heart of all of the restaurants and shops, too (the ever-popular Matterhorn is a very short drive away). The condo was spotless and cozy we all found the beds to be especially comfy. Overall, a great stay!
