Clifden, The Barn on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Barn is a unique old stone barn but modern, with an open plan sitting/kitchen/ eating area with cathedral ceiling and a long narrow window overlooking the Salt Lake to one side, a small window looking down to the sea on the other. There are two bedrooms and a wet room style bathroom (no bathtub) but plenty of hot water and underfloor heating. It is wonderfully quiet, a real retreat for those who just want to escape. Cottage is 100 yards from mile-long sandy beach and Minaun Cliffs - among highest in Europe. The Toolis family have lived here for over 400 years. The deserted Dookinella stone village still stands in the field nextdoor. Keel village is a 5-minute drive with restaurants, local butcher selling Achill lamb and fisherman selling from boat. Surf school for all ages. Fabulous walks begin right at the door from easy to mountain hikes. Good for couples and families. Good WiFi. Wheelchair accessible.

The Lookout has great views over Clew Bay & Clare Island Beautiful walks surround you. Croagh Patrick, Mweelrea, Famine walk (Doo Lough), Western way. Surf, Swim, Pier jump, SUP, at some of the beaches. Go Cycling on the Wild Atlantic way or The western Greenway. You might see some hares, a Pine Marten or at night the Barn Owl. Possibly one of the most beautiful views and locations overlooking Dogs bay beach and sitting at the foot of Errisbeg hill, 6 minute drive from the picturesque fishing village of Roundstone. Surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery on the west coast of Ireland. Looking out across the Atlantic Ocean at the Aran islands, gurteen beach and dogs bay beach. Hill climbing to the rear and beach walks to the front of the cottage, there are possibly few locations to compare with this cottage
