Explore Tokyo’s traditional bathhouses with a sento expert

Immerse yourself in a public bath and experience the art of Japanese relaxation while learning about the history, etiquette, and community significance of sentos. • I’ll guide you through the different types of sentos, what to expect during your visit, and the proper etiquette for enjoying the experience. We’ll also discuss how sentos play a vital role in the daily lives of people in Japan. • We’ll visit one of two Tokyo sentos: Nakanotenjinyu in Nakano, a historic bathhouse offering an authentic sento experience, or Myoho-yu in Shinanomachi, a sleek, modern bathhouse with state-of-the-art, spa-like facilities. • Please note that you’ll be entering the bathing area (separate for men and women) without clothing. Relax like a Tokyo local as you soak in the soothing waters of a traditional sento and gain a deeper appreciation for their cultural and historical significance.

Black <Size> 　Choose from S to XXL 　Or your usual shoe size 2.Introduction (10 min.) ・Meet at the Nakameguro workshop and introduce yourself. ・A brief introduction to the history of Japanese leather craft and Tochigi leather. 3. Leather assembly work (1.5 hours) ・Use pre-cut Tochigi leather parts to glue and assemble. ・Work while learning about the basics and process of sandal making. 4. Final Finishing (1 hour) -The sandals are adjusted and polished to create a finished product. The host will help you with the fine details to create a professional finish. 5. Closing (10 min.) -You will receive the finished shoes or sandals, a certificate, and photos and videos of the process. -You will receive a free gift of leather wax. We will give you advice on how to care for your leather products. I will show you guys the visuals of Shibuya, the views you can get of the Crossing from above. Off the beaten paths spots and major tourist spots you shouldn't miss. After that we will move to Shinjuku via the JR Yamanote Line (12 minute train ride) and show you the gritty side of Tokyo, showing you the tiniest of alleys and the main night-life spot. The tour/photoshoot is going to be around 2-3 hours. I will be providing you with 25-40 high resolution photos, post processed and ready to share to your friends and family. LET'S GET OUT OF THE TOURIST AREA where it is overpriced and crowded with tourists! This tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya, Shinjuku and is less touristy. It’s popular with the Japanese for eating and drinking at any time. I'm going to take you to popular taverns and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes and please ask me any questions. I’ll discuss not only Japanese food and drinks but also culture, traditions and history, which will be beneficial for the rest of your stay in Japan for sure! We will visit several restaurants/taverns/bar in total, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat, etc. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks! (5 or more different type of drinks) You'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. After visiting these three taverns, we will end the tour at a great Ramen shop that is popular with locals. During the tour, you will be able to talk to other travelers and share information about Japan. It will be great to exchange information from the same viewpoint. We will explore the greater part of Shinjuku, the busiest area in Tokyo to show you popular spots as well as hidden gems. We'll have a couple of bites during the city walk. We'll then head to two izakaya restaurants that are popular among the locals. Places we visit range from modern to traditional, and if you are looking to try just ramen and sushi, this might not be the right one for you. Throughout the evening, we’ll taste different Japanese foods and drinks, learn about our pub food culture and history, and spend time with other foodies. Also, we offer an optional sake tasting session where we will try 5+ different craft & seasonal sake at our own sake bar in Shinjuku before the tour at 3:30pm (optional & price not included). *We may have extra spots available even if you don't see availability.
