Summary:
In this workshop, visitors are welcomed with complimentary tea and a brief introduction to my background as a craftsman and the philosophy behind my work, focusing on art, tradition, and sustainability. The experience includes an interactive presentation on Spanish vegetable-tanned leather, showcasing high-quality samples for participants to touch and smell, followed by a discussion on the history and global recognition of Spanish leather.
I demonstrate traditional hand-stitching techniques, offering tips for beginners, and invite participants to practice on pre-cut leather scraps. The main project involves creating a foldable cardholder, with guided steps in customization, assembly using rivets, and finishing touches.
At the end, participants share their creations and reflect on the importance of preserving artisanal techniques. The session concludes with the presentation of their hand-made cardholders as a tangible souvenir. The workshop is designed to be intimate, focusing on authenticity and a deep connection with local craftsmanship, with materials, tools, and bilingual support available for international guests.
