Historic Loblolly Lodge at Ratcliff Lake

The Loblolly Lodge was built by Frank Taylor as a gathering place for his family around 1940. Remodeled in 2018, it now boasts of all the modern conveniences for a great getaway. With 2400sf of indoor living space & a 640sf covered back porch there is plenty of space for several families. The Lodge is nestled on 11 private wooded acres adjacent to Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area in the Davy Crockett National Forest which offers fishing, swimming, picnicking, and hiking for a small entrance fee.

This is not a place to exert a lot of energy unless you'd like to visit my firewood splitting department. (I may knock a few dollars off the price if you do!) The cabin is a private little house on a corner lot with a view of pine, oak, and cedar trees, but is also on the corner of two highways, making it safe and convenient to all locations in Lufkin. There is traffic noise. The oldest town in Texas, Nacogdoches, is 17 miles away and is an easy commute from here. The largest lake in Texas, Sam Rayburn, is a 25-minute drive. Dogwood Cabin at Tall Timbers Retreat

Dogwood Cabin at Tall Timbers Retreat sleeps up to 13 (or 9 in individual beds). Downstairs has a private room with a Queen bed and a pull-out full sofa. Upstairs has a private room with a King bed and a bunk bed, plus a loft with five singles (note: access to the private room is through the singles area). Two full bathrooms, one on each floor. It has a full kitchen and shared laundry access with Pine Tree Cabin.
